The only 4 star rated villa in the area, Villa Vista is a superb example of how to restore a magnificent 300-year-old stone house to its original grandeur with all mod cons. Sitting above the village of Viganj at the tip of the Peljesac Peninsular, the breathtaking views from the large terrace and large swimming pool take in the length of the island of Korcula and its vineyards, and the beauty of the Medieval Citadel of Korcula Town across the sparkling crystal clear waters of the Adriatic – and this with the sea just 400 meters from the terrace steps.

'We have to been to Croatia once before and yet were still surpised by the beauty and diversity of the Peljesac area. This combined with the villa's perfect position and creature comforts made for an exceptional holiday'- The O'Driscolls, Fulham, London. 'The ideal mix of culture, watersports and great food and wine made our family holiday fun for all. Villa Vista is exceptional and we really felt spoilt' - Sam Tremayne and family, New Haw, Surrey.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 17/28

There was plenty of space in and around the villa for all to find space, the air con worked well, beds comfy, sufficient number of loos for a full house, etc, etc. For location, views, atmosphere, peace and tranquility it couldn't be beaten. We thought the locals charming and friendly, the local amenities ideal without being over commercilaised or developed, the local restaurants unpretentious, the water sports and windsurfing in particular, second to none. We thought the villa was just right distance up the hill for adequate effort, peace and seclusion but close enough to the seafront for convenience. Fantastic, we absolutely loved it!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Can thoroughly recommend this property. We were two families holidaying together and there was plenty of room for everyone. Very well maintained and tastefully decorated; clean and well equipped throughout. The owner provided us with a welcome letter which gave us excellent advice about the best places to visit, restaurants, activities, etc. Last but not least, the views from the terrace were absolutely stunning - the photos simply cannot do it justice.Owner response: Hi Sarah, The house is perfect for two families. We set it up with that as one of our goals and bedroom config works well for that. Stacks of room on the terrace, around the pool and inside means there is always somewhere for children to play as well as somewhere peaceful for us big kids too. I am pleased you got what you did from the welcome letter. There is always something new to do so I look forward to reading about your experiences in the visitor book when I am there next week. Enjoy the rest of your summer Jane

Along with 8 other very close friends we arrived at the Villa Vista with a delicious and fun lunch under our belts at nearby Ston for a week's R + R. And that is exactly what it turned out to be, and more! As with most photos, it is difficult to capture just how amazing the view is from the terrace - as far as the eye can see, sparkling sea with the hills and mountains of Korcula as a beautiful backcloth. The large terrace table hosted many a long lunch or dinner and the odd glass or two of excellent local wine and we barbecued fresh local fish a couple of times which was fun. Inside, this old stone ruin (I believe an old mariner's home) has been skilfully and tastefully renovated to provide everything a large group or family needs during a holiday. A well thought out kitchen, large reception room (if you have to be inside) but does it ever rain? All the beds got rave reviews as did the ample, soft, comfortable pillows. The pool, reached by several steps through sensitively planted flowers and shrubs provided a relaxing area for all of us to swim, sun bathe, read, look at the views and share the odd cocktail or three! The comprehensive “house book” provided us with all the information we needed to make our holiday very special – information about a day’s yacht trip, sea taxis to a terrific lunch spot with a fab bay for swimming, other suggested day trips, good local restaurants and recommended vineyards to sample the local wine. All in all a memorable week not only because of the friends we were with but being in a villa that had been brought back to life with a creative vision for the future enjoyment for all. The owners are to be congratulated!Owner response: Hi Deidre, What a great review - thanks so much for taking the time to do this. We are delighted that you guys had the holiday you did. When are you heading back there? :-) Jane

Just wanted to thank you for all the arrangements re the renting of Villa Vista for our holiday over the past 2 weeks. We had a FANTASTIC time in your amazing house. The location is of course second to none. Local people are lovely and very welcoming everywhere. As an example, when the road up from the church was blocked off as we arrived, we stopped to ask the way and a gentleman from one of the nearby houses telephoned his friend, then hopped on his moped to lead us up to the villa! Weather was great, which always helps but it was the the huge impression of an area completely unspoilt, combined with living in a lovely house that remains in our memories.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Hi John and Ann, Thank you for posting this review. I am delighted you had such a great holiday - Villa Vista is in indeed a special place. Come and stay again sometime! Jane

We were a group of six friends sharing Villa Vista, and loved our stay. We love to cook, so made great use of the well-appointed kitchen and dining on the terrace. Also found local restaurants good and easy to visit. The Villa is very comfortable, charming, and the views cannot be beat. Easy to share among friends, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Even on the two stormy days we had, the situation of the Villa made storm watching a real treat. And on the beautiful days, relaxing by the pool and reading on the terrace were blissful. Jane's welcome letter filled with great recommendations, so follow them! Trip to Korcula was beautiful; wandering in Orebic and along the coast at Viganj and Kuciste delightful. We would definitely recommend Villa Vista, and visit again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

A beautiful house in a fantastic location, with great views, tasteful decor, lots of space, lovely pool, comfy beds.....what more need I say? We really enjoyed our stay here (6 adults and two small children). We made good use of the spacious kitchen, and the outdoor barbeque, but managed to eat out a couple of evenings thanks to Svjetlana who came and babysat for us. The house has been beautifully restored and extended (I'm a Historic Buildings Conservation Officer, so this is really saying something!). I've already recommended the house to friends, and we all hope to come back next hols. The restaurant 200 metres away does great fish (on the hill), and there's a bar/restaurant right on the shore in Viganj which is great for early evening drinks. We also appreciated Jane's recommendations, and top tips in the visitors book. Roll on next summer!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My family and I really enjoyed staying at this beautiful villa this year. The bedrooms and bathrooms are furnished to a very high standard and well proportioned and there's a large lounge, adjacent dining area with a large wooden table that easily seats 10. The kitchen is large with tons of storage and a range/ovens that would make any budding Masterchef proud!. The real gem is the outside where the views across to Korcula are exceptional and where you can eat, relax in a hammock, read, have a barbie and generally chill out. Down, through a winding stone garden path you get to the pool which is surrouned by a large lounge area and shaded pergola, again, with stunning views all round. Further afield it's a real treat as just down from the villa is a lovely small port/harbour with all the facilities including a bars/restuarants and supermarket. Just along is a regular ferry to Korcula which is a very ancient walled city and full of all the amenities you'd expect from a trendy destination. One of the main features of this coastline is the sea, which is crystal clear and used by windsurfers, yachting enthusiasts and boaters, although watch out for the occasional super yacht that seem to have this spot as a point on their itinerary and spend time moored offshore or in harbour at Korcula. Overall this is a 5 star holiday, perfect for chilling out in style, yet with enough amenities and facilities for it to be busy if you so wish. We're going again as we loved it so much this year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We had a wonderful holiday at Jane and Craig's gorgeous villa. Nine of us (5 adults and 4 children, aged 74 to 10!)) had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the terrace with its ever changing stunning view, or laze by the pool. The villa was very well-equipped, and the decor just right. Air conditioning and very comfortable beds meant we all slept well. We loved the area, and would highly recomend hiring a boat to explore the islands and coast. The children enjoyed jumping off jettys and swimming in the clear blue sea which was a 10 minute steep downhill walk from the villa. Korcula was an easy ferry trip away and was a good evening trip, with a bustling atmosphere. It was our first trip to Croatia and we can see why Jane and Craig love it so much, we do too! Thank you, we hope to return very soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
