We are conveniently located in the town of San Marcos, home of Texas State University. San Marcos is centrally located in the Texas Hill Country, right on IH 35. It's just 30 minutes from Austin and 45 from San Antonio.
Enjoy mingling with the locals for breakfast at Cafe on the Square -- on the San Marcos Historic Courthouse Square. Lunch in the garden at Palmers Restaurant Bar and Courtyard; and have dinner at Texas Reds Steakhouse, located at the historic Cotton Gin.
Texas State University is within walking distance of the Courthouse. You might want to stop and visit the Wittliff Gallery of Southwestern and Mexican Photography.

A fifteen-minute ride northeast of town on Ranch Road 12, will take you to the unique village of Wimberley, which has become the home of top-name artists from around the country. Here you can watch expert glassblowers, experience fine art, shop for antiques and unique local clothing, or simply enjoy Shakespeare under the stars.
A twenty-minute ride south of San Marcos will bring you to the town of New Braunfels, known for its German Heritage, the October Fests, and the Schlitterbahn -- one of the nation's largest water parks. In its neighboring historic village of Gruene, you can shop for local pottery and arts and crafts, sample Texas wines -- and, at the end of the day, you can dance at the famous Gruene's Hall, featured in numerous music videos.
A fifteen-minute ride east of San Marcos will take you to the renowned Kreuz Meat Market in Lockhart, where you can enjoy a true Texas-style Bar-B-Q.
