Accommodations:  Duplex House, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)

This duplex house is 12 feet from the water's edge. The duplex has two apartments, one downstairs and one upstairs. Each apartment is 900 square feet, with one bedroom - a king-size bed. The bathrooms are spacious and the bath/bed linens are supplied. The kitchens are wonderful. We also have a 2 bedroom waterfront house, 11 Palms, located on the same island of Conch Key, 5 houses from the Herons' Rest. Both properties have high speed internet access at no extra charge. All of the rentals in the Florida Keys are trying to get you to stay at their rental, including us. We also have the "gin" clear water, the out-of-this-world fishing, the unbelievable snorkeling, etc., etc., etc. But...

The difference is, we are offering a very clean, comfortable, affordable Florida Keys vacation rental.

Both Joe and I are volunteers at the (local) Marathon Wild Bird Rescue Center, so that means we love wild birds. That is why we have published the pictures of our friends. Pretty Girl, the great white egret showed up at the Heron's Rest with a broken leg - 6 years ago. We caught her breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, in-between-meals until I felt and smelled like a 12 year old boy!! She is beautiful today.

The next picture is Sugar, the double crested cormorant. She was knocking on heaven's door (as Bob would sing) because of a broken wrist on the left wing. We rescued her and have had the pleasure of helping her catch her daily fish - now she is the local fishing guide and is very independent.

Conch Key, our home, is very quiet; 1/3 mile in circumference with a fresh seafood market, convenient store, a small motel with a boat ramp. We are on the west side of the island, waterfront - we get the sunset celebration every night.

Our guests that check into the Heron's Rest and 11 Palms are always very happy with their accommodations, the sunset views, and Conch Key in general.

Pets are considered at the Heron's Rest.
