Sometimes the last minute breaks are the best and this proved to be the case during my family's stay at the Carolina Country Log Cabin in mid-January. My wife and I were joined by our son and granddaughter for a long weekend and a wonderful time was had by all. The cabin was just perfect for our needs. The attention to detail makes you feel like you are home and the cleanliness of the cabin was outstanding! The cabin is well appointed and we certainly had plenty of room. We ventured out to clamber up Chimney Rock and our granddaughter (3) loved the swimming pool at the Rumbling Bald Resort. Judy was a pleasure to work with from the start and we'd definitely return. Great cabin and area!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We went and stay 5 nights in this snuggly cabin. We were there during Hurricane Sandy and the wind blew some tremendously strong gusts on Monday night but that cabin is a fortress, very sound and tight. We slept like babies. The gas logs kept us warm and cozy as well. Sometimes you never know what to expect when you're looking at pictures online but I can honestly say, this cabin is a hidden gem. It's priced right for the money so that makes a vacation stay even more enjoyable. We weren't able to go to Mt. Mitchell due to the snow, but we did make it to Biltmore House on Tuesday Morning and we were the 10th car through and I was able to get a picture perfect postcard moment of the Biltmore House on the front lawn with no cars or people in the background. We're already planning our trip back in April or May of 2013, that's how much we loved the location and in addition you get guest passes to Rumbling Bald so we were able to hit the jaccuzzi and steam sauna to unwind after a very long day. Choosing this home was a great experience for us and would be for you as well. I read alot of the reviews from previous posts before ever choosing a home and they were dead on right about this one.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We loved this cabin. It was perfect for the 4 adults with plenty of room for more. It had everything you could ask for. We loved the furnishings and the patriotic decor. The cabin location was perfect for all the places we visited. We went to the Biltmore, Chimney Rock, Black Mountain, Grandfather Mountain and Cherokee to the Casino. A new winery just opened a few days ago just down the mountain on Hwy 221 from Grandfather Mountain in Linville. It was the best wine we have ever had. Thank you so much for everything. We hope to come back and visit again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was a suprise Birthday weekend get away for my wife. But I also needed/wanted to get away for the weekend and this was just perfect. Great, close place to be able to just disconnect from the world and this place gave us that. It was great and I enjoyed it. My wife liked it too. He-he. ThanksDid you find this review helpful? This cabin and its location provided just the right mix of comfort, convenience and activity for our family of five (3 teenagers). The cabin itself was everything we expected and more. It was exceptionally clean and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and all slept well. The large porch provided a great place to sit, relax, read and take in the lovely surroundings. We enjoyed access to the lake in the Riverbend community and the passes to Rumbling Bald allowed us to benefit from the pool, the weight room and Lake Lure. Would definitely recommend a trip to the Triple Falls trail in the Dupont State Forest. Well worth the drive and the short hike to the falls. Judy was great to work with and made the whole process very easy. Really couldn't recommend the place more highly.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

There is not enough room here to say all the great things I would like to say about our experience with this cabin and Judy who manages the cabin for her daughter. From the moment we drove up we felt welcomed! The cabin is truly beautiful and the pictures do not truly describe how beautiful this cabin is. The cabin was not only beautiful but it was clean and every detail had been thought of. We just put our luggage down and we were ready to relax! Also, to our surprise the cabin had been decorated for Christmas and a tree had been put up and there were holiday decorations throughout which made us very happy that we were able to get into the season while we were there. North Carolina is always an amazing place to visit and this time was no exception. We visited and hiked Chimney Rock which was nearby and also took a drive to Black Mountain and Hendersonville. We also hiked to Catawaba Falls which was a gorgeous hike (this was close to Black Mountain). Both Hendersonville and Black Mountain have wonderful shops and restaurants. Our family had a wonderful trip and we are extremely grateful for being allowed to share this wonderful cabin. I can't recommend this cabin enough! We have rented many cabins before and this has been the best. Our two dogs also enjoyed the porch where they were free to roam and enjoy the great weather. Thank you Judy - we will be back soon if you'll have us! With much appreciation to Judy for your attention and courtesy we remain with fond memories - , Grace, Richard & Ashley & DogsRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

WOW the cabin was better than expected. I took the dogs for walks every day, played frisbee and relaxed on the awesome wrap around deck. My wife loved to relax and snuggle in the king sized bed. I was debateing between two cabins and glad I picked this one. ThanksRecommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Our mountain vacation was incredible! This Carolina Country Cabin was perfect! From my first contact with Judy I knew that we were headed to a restful and magnificent mountain retreat. Judy was so helpful and informative from the very beginning. She went above and beyond to make sure all of our questions were answered and then contacted us the day after our arrival to make sure that everything was as it was supposed to be. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our stay. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings on the front porch every morning with our dogs and the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area offered leisure dining, sightseeing and relaxation beyond our expectations. The cabin had such a home-like atmosphere and was so tastefully decorated. I can't think of anything that would have made our stay here any more relaxing. Thank you so much for having us!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
