My husband and I spent our anniversary week in this beautiful home. The home is well stocked, clean and very inviting! It has everything you need! We enjoyed the Lake on our kayak's, hiking several days in Chimney Rock, and exploring the towns. Lots of great restaurants - Point of View - was our favorite. We need to de-stress from our busy lives and this was the perfect place to do it. Thanks Rob and Mary Ann for opening up your home to us!

We just got back from this property & did not want to leave!! We stayed for a week with three teenagers and four adults. If you want to go to Lake Lure, this is the perfect house in the best location. Plenty of room in the house with everything you need. It is on a quiet cove--perfect for the kids to jump off the dock and hang out in--swimming all day. Great fishing off the dock as well. We had two turtles who swam up to visit every night--and two ducks--they eat bread right out of your hand!! Everything is convenient--grocery store is a 7 minute drive--sightseeing and shopping in chimney rock is a 15 minute drive, etc... But the house is secluded, private, quiet--just wonderful!!! We plan on going back next summer!! And you will not find friendlier people to work with than Mary Ann and Rob!! Can't wait till next year!!

Our experience at Lake Lure (escape to the mountains) was exceptional with lots of activities a short drive from the cabin. The cabin was well supplied with a nice view of the lake. We highly recommend considering this as a rental for your next planned get away.

I decided to visit Lake Lure only two weeks before the Memorial Day weekend and was a bit concerned with finding a good place to stay with such late notice. I did not find a good place to stay, I found a GREAT place to stay! My son, his wife and I went up to celebrate my upcoming birthday. This was absolutely perfect. The cabin was very spacious and decorated throughout with a lake theme, making you feel worlds away from stress and everyday problems. After an afternoon in the canoe and sitting dockside we grilled out and have a lovely meal on the second level porch. The next day we rented a pontoon boat from the marina and spent the afternoon on the lake. Most of our meals were prepared on the grill and eaten outside..........we truly did not want to leave the lake to go into town and eat! If you are looking for a great place to stay with all the amentities, then this is the one. Thank you to the Owner for making our trip so easy and relaxing.

We are a group of 5 ladies (of a certain age) from across the Big Pond visiting a friend who is from SC .She wanted to show us the best that her home state and neighbouring state has to offer and so found the Simple log cabin for us. We have been here for two weeks and it seems like two days. We have enjoyed every minute. The quality of furnishings in the cabin is splendid. The owner has been extremely helpful and accomodating. The surrounding area is interesting. (albeit with a lot of trees! ) All the people we have encountered are enormously friendly,. and we would love to return someday. We would not hesitate to recommend the property. A very warm welcome awaits at Heavenly Hogs. Great food at Larkins, Good shopping for groceries at Ingles. Be aware that Chimney rock village is 'Dry' !!!! . Climbing Chimney rock is a great trip. Visiting the Cherokee village was intersting! Local fayre is an aquired taste!!Boiled peanuts and deep fried snicker bars with a deep fried pickle are not to be recommended! However we had a LOT of fun and enjoyed every minute. Thank you

For a group of four couples I don't think we could do much better. Everyone enjoyed their stay and I think this is where we will choose the next time we come back as a group. There's all kinds of details throughout the cabin to give it that home feel and the canoe and paddle boat are a blast. Best of all its close to the local parks which is why we choose it. Great weekend.

The cabin was very nice...the view from the dock was beautiful. The kitchen was very well-equipped. We really enjoyed use of the canoe and paddleboats. Our favorite feature was the Notebook bathtub!! Note to families with small children: the stairs leading to the dock are very steep and the secondary bedrooms open directly to outside; this might make some parents uneasy...but we had no problems.

I took a weekend off in the winter to get away from work, to get out of town, and to relax. I found this cabin and for the very reasonable price decided to rent. Upon arrival, the cabin was more than I expected. The cabin was newly constructed, VERY clean, and the view of the lake and mountains were unbelievable. The drive from the cabin to the grocery store took less than 10 minutes, and the drive to the beach and to Chimney Rock took less than 15 minutes. I highly recommend this cabin and will definitely be returning!

We booked this vacation house for New year eve with our other best friends. We were 4 couples and 2 babies and this house was specious enough for all of us. We had a great time at this house. Drawing hall is little small to have group fun so we had to move the furniture away and parking is a problem if you have more than 2 cars. Other than that this house is so much to offer in terms of fun and family time with your dear ones. It has a beautiful view from the porch and downside bedrooms has sliding door with the full view, which is heaven. We would really love to come back again.
Owner response:Log Cabin also has overflow parking space available for 1-2 more vehicles a mere two parking spots away on the other side of our next-door cottage. Guests simply need to notify us if in need of more than 2 parking spaces.

My parents and I rented this lovely cabin in October to take advantage of the leaf peeping season. We were delighted with the cabin and it surpassed all of our expectations. It was exactly what we were looking for. Its very cozy, comfortable and clean. Its what I call contemporary rustic. It was rustic (a good rustic) and cozy but, it was also newer construction and has all of the modern conveniences such as cable TV and wireless internet. I would defintely recommend this to anyone. We will be staying here again for sure.

My husband and I stayed at this property for a week in early June 2010. We found it to be exactly as expected (perfect!). We loved swimming off the dock every morning and were well situated for half-day adventures (be sure to check out Chimney Rock and Pisgah National Forest (Sliding Rock)). The property was spotless and the owners called early in the week to make sure that everything was as we expected and that we didn't require anything further. They were helpful throughout the process to make sure that we had everything we needed. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to others looking to stay in this area. Thanks!

My new husband and I came here on our honeymoon. in May. It is so peaceful and quite here. The water and the sunsets are very beautiful to see. We loved coming down at night and sitting on the boat dock and watching the sunset. The clawfoot tub was wonderful to take a bath in it every morning. All the windows let in so much light

The cabin rental was EXACTLY what we were hoping for: clean, modern conveniences, peace and quiet and wonderful scenery. My husband and I took our two teenage children and three of their friends. They all had a blast with the dock and canoe and morning swims before breakfast. The location was great for getting to white water rafting and Chimney Rock, but I think everyone preferred our times at the cabin and on the lake the most. There was even a boat rental company that picks you up at the dock! The lake was beautiful and very large with minimal boat traffic (they told us the only busy week is during July 4th). We still laugh about the tubing contests we had behind the boat. There's a very nice shopping center just at the bottom of the mountain to get gas and groceries. The kitchen and furnishings of the cabin were very well done and we ate most of our meals there. We especially enjoyed use of the bar-b-q on the back porch over looking the lake. We will DEFINITELY rent this cabin again - very nice owners and very nice place. The only negative is that we only stayed one week!!!
