Relaxing vacation

My children and I stayed at the cottage the first week in August. We found it to be wonderfully relaxing. Since it was our first vacation to the area, it provided a central location to both Boston and Cape Cod - and we spent a few days in Plymouth itself. The amenities named in the cottage description were accurate: there were games for the children, travel information for the area, television and internet. The beds were comfortable and it was nice that the linens were provided. The property itself is beautifully maintained. We would definitely stay here again!

Living in Massachusetts already, we wanted to be close to a beach and close to do things with our children, so we came to Plymouth. This home has everything we were looking for and more!!!! Super close to everything and the home and owner were more than I could ask for. If we had any questions or needed anything, Ingrid was right there! My family had such a great time at this cottage, we hope to go back to Plymouth and hope to rent from Ingrid again. My family and I Thank you for such a wonderful vacation.

Starfish Cottage, Plymouth, Massachusetts

My wife and I rented this cottage as a home-base for a week's exploration of Boston and environs during the last week of September, 2009. In addition to Boston, Concord, and Salem, our visit included Cape Cod, Nantucket, Newport RI, and Groton and Mystic Connecticut. The cottage is located in historic Plymouth, which just happens to be the location we enjoyed the most. The cottage was charming and very comfortable. It has an atmosphere that is very welcoming and a host who is as well. We have already recommended it to our daughter and her family. In addition to the two bedrooms and living and dining rooms it has an adjoining game room that her two children would find very entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend it highly.

A little piece of heaven

My husband and I and our two daughters spent three fun filled days in NYC before arriving at this utterly delightful cottage in Plymouth , Mass. We were ready for five days of unwinding and relaxation and that's exactly what we got. From the moment we walked into this charming retreat, we realized this was no ordinary rental. It was decorated with such a warm, personal touch and lacked nothing as far as amenities. Ingrid, our kind host, could not have been more helpful. We followed her suggestions on places to eat, things to do, and we were never disappointed. The place was extremely clean and so very comfortable, we honestly never wanted to leave. The cottage is great for families, many games, puzzles and an extensive library of movies. The cottage has such great charecter and it's convenient to everything. We would not hesitate to return here and highly recommend. Be sure to go on a whale watching expedition. It was amazing!

As a family we use a lot of self-catering accommodation and have travelled quite a bit. We all agree this is the best place we have stayed. Starfish Cottage oozes character and is exactly the sort of place you would want to stay if visiting Plymouth. Ingrid was welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Very generous with her time and advice when called upon. The cottage is perfectly furnished and decorated for its style and we could have spent the entire week just reading and investigating its books, pictures etc. Plenty of tourist info for the immediate area and further afield and games and outdoor equipment for the children which they enjoyed, especially having use of the large lawn. June and Ben are coeliacs and there is a very good health shop 5 minutes drive away for all the basic gluten-free foods and some treats as well. It is also handy to the nearest beach and a convenience store. If we ever go back to this area we would not hesitate in having another stay in Starfish Cottage.

Our family came to Plymouth to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The cottage was a wonderful place to celebrate. Every amenity you can think of is here in the cottage. The children had many games to play with and they also enjoyed all the video tapes. I loved that the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking supplies. The bathroom had plenty of towels and "just in case I didn't pack it" items. This was our best vacation ever and I have to say that Ingrid helped make it all possible. The cottage is so beautiful and comfortable. You WILL NOT want to leave. But we will always have our wonderful memories of "our cottge". Ingid, thank you for a wonderful vacation, keep up the great work and we'll be seeing you soon!!!!

Starfish Cottage is a wonderful, relaxing place to spend a stress-free vacation. The kids loved the games and movies plus the wonderful breakfast treats. Our oldest son loved the "secret window" in the kid's room. We loved the tranquil surroundings, the cushy beds, and the exceptional hospitality. Ingrid is such a wonderful hostess and made us feel right at home. We cannot wait until we get to visit her and Starfish cottage again. Thanks for the great vacation, Ingrid. My family and I just spent 7 days at Star Fish Cottage and we all agree that it should be called "Enchanted Cottage." The minute we walked through the door we felt it's old world charm envelope us and make us feel as if we were home.With every second spent in the cottage we could feel our tension and stress disappear as we explored one enchanting room after another. Ingrid and Steve made us feel like family and they truly represented the old world charm of hospitality to the highest degree. The beaches were pristine, the Plymouth shops had quaint items and the restaurants were a delight to the palate. On nights that we wanted to "cook at home" the cottage had a great array of cooking utensils and a wonderful grill. We have rented many places in 27 yrs and this is the first time we actually had lumps in our throats when we had to leave. The memories we made here will get us through the tough winter months and beyond. We will definitly see "Our Cottage" again next year and for many more years to come. We were so lucky to find this absolute gem in Plymouth.
