Lake Champlain, New York - Secluded Lakefront Home

Exclusive, very private, lakefront home situated ten feet from the water's edge. The house sits at the end of a half mile driveway on 275 feet of private lake frontage with six acres of privacy behind you. Built in 1905 as Kippewa Lodge, the house has been totally updated and remodeled yet remains true to the old Adirondack feel.
A towering stone fireplace dominates the two-story cathedral living room. Huge updated eat in kitchen, adjoins an equally large dining room with seating for 6. Enjoy the view from the large Adirondack covered porch with a spectacular view of the rolling mountains of Vermont and the Four Brothers by day and the lights of Burlington by night. Mattresses, bedding, dishes, all new. This is truly a one of a kind property.
Conveniently located one mile from the New York State boat launch ramp. Situated just south of Legonier point so the boats pass by a mile offshore, Unbelievably tranquil setting. You will understand why they chose this location in 1905 when they could have built anywhere. Additional Photos on request.

My husband, 2 teenage daughters & I spent several days in late June. The house is typical rustic lakehouse with a great view and location. Well-maintained and clean. It was our first trip to Lake Champlain/Adirondack area & this house was a perfect as a base for our explorations & a welcome sight on our daily return. Owner was easy to work with, very helpful & prompt. I highly recommend this rental.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

Arrived on June 11 and was immediately impressed by the secluded location and lakefront view. The rustic house was spacious and unique with many views of the lake and surrounding forest. The loft bed with it's view of the lake, was one of the favorite locations spots in the house! All necessary ammenities were available. We were in easy access to Lake Placid, Ausible Chasm, Schroon Lake & Burlington, Vt. All great day trips. We found Johnny's restaurant to be an affordable sports bar with good food. Ethel's "Dew Drop In" was great for a quick stop for ice cream or a sandwhich. Wildlife report- Lots of beaver (two swam right by the front porch!), lots of Whitetail deer, Red squirrel & Grey squirrel, Raccoons in the trash, waterfowl included Canada geese, Mallard duck, Wood duck, Great Blue heron, Green heron, Night heron, Osprey, lots of Cormorants and one Common loon at the boat ramp. Fishing report- Launched our bass boat at Willboro public launch which is less than a mile away. Nice boat ramp. We did most of our fishing near the mouth of the Bouqet River. We caught 55 Smallmouth bass in three days on Rapala CD-5 in black and gold. My largest Smallmouth was 4.5 lbs. We also had two 3.5 pounders. The guys who were equiped with downriggers were pursuing and catching landlocked salmon, Brown trout and Rainbow trout in deeper water at the right temperature and depth. Ironically we caught one 20" landlocked salmon while fishing for bass. We would definitely recommend this place! The owner (Russ) was great to work with, communicated well and was prompt on returning our security deposit - all of which was greatly appreciated.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.
