SPECIAL RATES FOR 2014 - NO HIDDEN FEES!
Fantastic swimming, diving, snorkeling and fishing with the Caribbean Sea at your door! Our low rate of $770/week includes a kayak for each person, wifi, cell phone and satellite tv. We have NO hidden fees – there is NO added tax, cleaning fee, electric fee or other charges stacked onto your bill, like other rental properties.
Escape to Castaways Cove, our quiet, tranquil retreat on Roatan’s south shore. This nautical themed waterfront boathouse is ideal for a romantic getaway or as an oasis for water sports and getting in touch with nature.
Located on picturesque Caribe Point, this oceanfront house is fully furnished with a completely equipped kitchen. The house accommodates two people very comfortably in a new queen bed with a roll-away or air mattress for an additional guest. You can swim, fish and snorkel from your own private dock.
We can arrange personalized dive services, boat excursions or a catamaran snorkeling trip. We'll have a dive master/instructor pick you up here and most likely you will be the only ones on his boat. He can provide all equipment and we guarantee you'll love his low rates! You don't dive? Try an exciting discovery dive - no certification needed!
Enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, reef and neighboring hills from a covered terrace. A shallow reef in front of the house provides incredible snorkeling. Our guests tell us the island's best snorkel is right at the entrance to our bight, where you can snorkel day after day and always see different marine life. We can arrange a local fishing guide or 'water taxi' to pick you up so you can explore the island in style. We have good road access and taxi or van service can be arranged.
Sit-On-Top Kayaks, that normally rent for $50+ a day each on the island are included free with this rental. You can kayak to awesome snorkeling spots and explore the nearby mangrove tunnels built by the Payan Indians and used by pirates. Kayak to nearby McNabbs Restaurant, Charlies or Hole in the Wall. There's a small private sandy beach across the water for picking up washed up coral, shells and treasures from the sea.
Castaways Cove is away from the noisy main tourist area and cruiseships, yet only 20 minutes from French Harbour restaurants and shopping. We're just 3 miles from Turquoise Bay and west of Jonesville and Oakridge.
Our property and surrounding woods has lush tropical flora. There are paths for hiking, exploring and jogging; and a dock for swimming, snorkeling, fishing and boating.
Castaways Cove is an ideal place to relax and revive, while getting in touch with nature. For a hassle free vacation, contact us today. We live up the hill on the property and can assist you with tours, arrangements and any issues during your stay. However, we value your privacy, but we're also here to help when needed. We provide a local cel phone to use during your stay for phoning locally or long distance. The house has wifi.

First time in Roatan. My boyfriend and I were looking for a quiet location for diving and snorkeling. This was the perfect location. Dennis and Marcia are very gracious hosts. Before I arrived Marcia had sent detailed information regarding Roatan, fun things to do, various attractions, the best places to eat. After we got there we enjoyed snorkeling and kayaking right off the dock, diving during the day, sitting on the deck in the evenings. We stayed for 5 nights and had a SUV rental. I would definitely recommend Castaways Cove if you want to be away from the crowds and have a beautiful view in a well kept boathouse with wonderful hosts and amazing snorkeling and dive sites close by. Stayed February 2014, traveled as a couple

I booked this for a quiet few days before we left from a two week vacation. After 4 days in the west end and 5 days on Utila this is what the doctor ordered. Don't get me wrong we still kayaked to Hole in the Wall, Mcnabbs and BJ's but we didn't do that 1 or 2 in the morning stuff. Dennis and Marcia were great. Dennis even did a load of wash for us. Sunday barbecue at Mcnabbs is fantastic! Can't wait to take my family to this wonderful spot.

We rented the boathouse for 2 weeks in Jan 2014. The location is perfect - you are right on the water in a sheltered bay with kayaks at your disposal and a jetty you can fish from. The boathouse is very clean and comfortable with everything you need to self-cater if you don't feel like eating out. Our daughter was very comfortable on the spare bed in the living area. Gorgeous terrace - with visits all day and evening from humming birds and bats to the feeder. Kayaking from the house is wonderful - through the mangrove canals or out to snorkel on the reef. We rented a car for the 2 weeks and travelled the whole island - the east is definitely the best! Marcia and Dennis provide maps and tips on places to visit and snorkel. Dennis and Marcia look after you very well - they are there if you need advice and sort out the WIFI and phones, but totally leave you alone as well.

Trip to Paradise
Trip to Paradise
My wife and my 2 teenage girls stayed here over the Christmas holiday and we all came to love the place more and more each day. At first I thought it might be too laid back for my kids but they really adjusted to the relaxed atmosphere and had lots of fun Kayaking to the rope swing in the Mangroves and exploring the area around the Caribe. We rented a car to get around and see as much of the island as we could( i recommend it!) and always ended the day on the terrace playing cards and cooking dinner together as a family and I couldnt have been more happy. Marcia and Dennis were awesome hosts and made our stay better than I could've hoped for. Always there if you needed them but never intrusive. My wife and I would go back in a heartbeat and we would be perfectly happy just sitting on the deck/terrace drinking the good Honduran coffee watching the daily life of the bay. If you want to get away from it all and enjoy life at your own pace then this is the SPOT!

Castaway Cove's Boathouse
Castaway Cove's Boathouse
What a Wonderful Trip! I'm still trying to hold onto the relaxation I had, but it is slowly getting replaced by the day to day chores of 'normal' life now. I certainly would love to return and hopefully that time includes a visit with you! Dennis is an excellent host and has all of the information we ever needed to know and more :) Your home and the boathouse are both perfect places to live. What a spot you have! I loved sitting on the deck, kayaking around the bight, gazing at stars in the dark night sky, listening to the water splash against the wall behind the house :) All so soothing and relaxing. We have been churning up thoughts of what it would be like to move there ....in the future. Our only thing that would change in our next visit would be the type car we rented. We had the tiny economical one which didn't really agree with the road system - being dirt in many areas, as you know. Even though, it didn't stop us from exploring the island from the West end to almost the end of the East! Besides the island itself that we so enjoyed, I loved the water! I only learned how to snorkel a few months ago and boy am I glad I did! It is a beautiful world under the sea. Dave even took a scuba diving lesson and went out with a group. I joined them and was able to snorkel with the boat driver, I saw more than the others, too! With so many best things about the island, I think the top one is how safe I felt. Before leaving, I was a bit concerned with this. Yet, not once did I have a worry or a question about something. Everyone was more than friendly and polite. Very nice to experience in a foreign country. Granted, I'm sure there are moments with issues, but overall, our experience was great. I could go on with many more praises, but I loved my visit to your boathouse, meeting and visiting with Dennis (and other local friends too) and getting to know the island of Roatan. It is certainly an island to treasure :). Many Thanks for all of your help leading up to our stay. Your information was referred to often. I hope to be able to return again soon. This is a nice quiet spot in the center of the island on a nice cove. You can snorkel directly from the dock or take the kayak out to the mouth. The boat house is a perfect place to relax and look at the beautiful view. Our hosts were wonderful and helped with directions and suggestions for restaurants and things to do. I am looking forward to going back.

The boat house was the perfect place for us to get away for some relaxation. We had a fantastic time exploring the east end of the island by car and kayak. The snorkeling near the house was excellent and Marcia and Dennis give great directions for locating the reef. We also enjoyed kayaking the mangrove tunnels and swimming. Marcia and Dennis are great hosts and provide lots of information about all the activities on the island. They also answered many of our questions about how to get to and around the island. I would love to visit again and would recommend it to anyone who loves to get away from the typical busy tourist destinations.

A slice of paradise!
A slice of paradise!
Our time at the boathouse completely exceeded our hopes and expectations. We came to Roatan wanting to snorkel, kayak and relax. We got that and so much more. We loved being tucked away in the peacefulness of the cove and feeling a part of the rhythm of its life. This spot is truly a slice of paradise. The house is comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The rental comes with several kayaks... we did lots of exploring by kayak and with our rental car. (Having a car was helpful to get to the tucked away places on the island). The snokeling is awesome -- the reefs are right out the front door. The experience was made all the better by the owners hospitality. They made the trip easy and guided us to so many great places (lots of great restaurants in the area!). We're already planning our return trip to return to this very spot!

A wonderful week's holiday!
Feb. 3, 2013 Marcia & Dennis, It’s our last day of a week’s vacation at Castaways Cove here. We’re trying to list our favorite things about the week and we realize the beauty of the week here was a combination of the great snorkeling, kayaking, lazy mornings reading, watching the sunset, peaceful sleeps, water taxi tour, lunch at Pookies, a wonderful dinner at Gios in French Harbour, the monkey la-la lizard, tours with Ruban around the island, the coral reefs with all the blue tangs, angel fish, pelicans, herons…thank you for your guidance and hospitality…both the boathouse and the villa were great accommodations. We will spread the word! Melanie and Doug, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

About the owner: Twelve years ago my husband Dennis and I longed for some adventure in our lives. So, we ditched our corporate jobs, sold our waterfront home and jammed our 'stuff' into a rented storage garage. We took off from St. Petersburg, Florida in our 42-foot Krogen trawler for our Roatan property. It was total woods when we arrived - we didn't even have electric or water. Since then, we built a house and two guest residences on the Caribbean Sea overlooking the world's second largest reef. We had been diving all over the Caribbean and could have moved anywhere in the world. However, we selected Roatan and specifically Caribe Pointe Bight, for its unmatched beauty. Here you will have the beauty of a tropical island and peacefulness of a private retreat. We're waiting for you!
Why the Owner Chose Caribe Pointe:
Caribe Pointe Bight is the most beautiful place in Roatan. Its location is off the beaten path and away from the tourists and cruise ships. The lush tropical natural surroundings are highlighted by palms, towering oaks, crystal clear Caribbean water, mountains and the world's second largest barrier reef.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Diving, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing are right here at your fingertips. The location is quiet and relaxing where you can do as much as you like, or as little as you want.
