Bear Paw Community offers gated security, as well as tennis courts, swimming pool, and playground. Boat rentals are available at the full service marina on Lake Hiwassee, perfect for fishing, boating and swimming. Whether you're looking for a relaxing vacation or something a little more active, Kathy's Cottage has it all!

Downtown Murphy offers visitors charming shops, unique restaurants and historic architecture. While in Murphy be sure to visit Fields of the Wood, a bible themed park with spectacular views and the world’s largest set of Ten Commandments. Nearby Brasstown boasts the John C. Campbell Folk School where visitors can experience a blend of history, art and natural beauty.

The Nantahala River is a short drive from Murphy and offers both guided and unguided whitewater-rafting tours. Cherokee, North Carolina; Chattanooga, Tennessee and Ellijay, Georgia are all within driving distance for day trips.
