This was my 6th visit to Maui as well as staying at the Kanai A Nalu condos. This condo has an amazing view from the 4th floor lanai and it is right next to the elevator making it even more convenient. We went during whale season and saw whales every morning right out our back door! This condo gave us the right height to see more of Maalaea Bay as well as the complex. The condo was extremely well stocked! We only needed to buy food! All our trash bags, detergent, dishwasher soap, hand soap, hair dryer, and more were provided! I slept on the pullout couch a couple times and it was the most comfortable pullout that I have ever slept on! I would highly recommend this condo to anyone and everyone.

I spent 6 1/2 enjoyable weeks at this wonderful condo. Thanks so much Lynnette and Mike for sharing your home with my guests and me. My daughter and her fiance' were married on the beach at Makena so it was really a time of celebration for us all. The view from the lanai was spectacular and I spent MANY hours sitting there reading and just watching the waves. We loved the grounds and the pool. It was also very comfortable sitting under the tree down by the ocean - again reading and/or meeting new friends. I so hope that I will be able to return at some point and use your condo again. Thanks a million.

Over 40 different VRBO rentals and this was the most dissapointing! Broken closets doors, air conditioner that only worked part time and made horrible noises, TV in masterbedroom did not work, light fixture hanging by a wire. And the worst part was the basic items that were not provided, coffee, filters, sugar, toilet paper (only 2 rolls for 6-8 people 12 days!!!! PLEASE. Small bars of hand soap no shower bars, told there would be makeup remover pads none available, who travels thinking they need to take their own toilet paper and soap even campsites provide these items. We requested a small refund and was told we needed to send receipts! Who would bring those back and why? A true shame because its a great location, with a great view.
Owner response:This is a home and like all others, things do break, but we take all of our guests' conveniences very seriously and do not expect them to experience anything subpar. Any discrepancies at all are rectified immediately. The property is beautiful and the property managers on site react quickly to keep it that way. The closet door and light fixture were fixed the day they checked in and the air conditioner has been serviced. A new TV was installed less than 24 hours after discovery. In addition to several bars of soap, there is liquid soap in both baths and the kitchen and refills under all sinks. Several spare rolls of toilet paper are supplied to get things started. We try to keep coffee and filters in the condo but ask our guests to let us know if they use the last of it. The condo is set up for a maximum of 6 guests. Although we offered reimbursement for the supplies, we could not justify the hundreds of dollars asked for. Our 6 years of vacation ownership in paradise have been very enjoyable for our guests...please feel free to look at our other reviews.

I would highly recommend this rental unit. The description and pictures shown of property are exactly what you will find. We have stayed in Maalaea before and this was by far the cleanest and in the best location. Great view of the ocean, a nice pool and well kept grounds. If you have a small child then there is the extra bonus of a port-a-crib and a booster chair. So thankful we did not have to haul those things on our trip. Boogie boards and sand toys in the closet too. We are planning to return to Maui in a couple of years and will definately stay at this condo again!

Had a great time. Wonderful view from the deck and great every morning to have breakfast on and start the day. It was pretty windy-but that's ok, kept it from being uncomfortable. Plus with the wind you didn't realize you were getting burned. Great location to get to wherever we wanted to go. It's nice and quiet here and not crowded! The beach is great-morning and night walks were awesome. Nice condo-it's nice to have 2 bathrooms so we all could get ready to go out. Thanks!! We'll be back.

We're back! And this time we brought parents! The condo was great...thanks for having a portable crib and high chair for the baby. We saw whales breaching out in the harbor, did some snorkeling and lots of sight seeing. Can't wait to come back! Aloha!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful condo with us for an adventurous week. I never tire of coming to Hawaii! This time I loved seeing the whales and their calves. Our boat captain let us listen to the whales talking and singing which was a very spiritual experience. Even though we had a tsunami warning on Saturday and had to evacuate to higher ground, it turned out to be a positive adventure. It was an opportunity to meet many new people, to see the wonderful hospitality of our hosts and to have a great story to tell friends and family for years to come. Iwas amazed and in awe at how organized the island authorities were in the face of a would-be disaster. Once again there was many, many things we wanted to do and not enough time-which only means we'll definitely be back for more adventures. So, thank you again for the use of your well equipped and lovely home away from home.

Wonderful vacation with outstanding amenities-great value! We hope to be back again next year with more family. The beds were ooh so comfy and we loved sitting on the Lanai and having coffee and morning breakfast and watching the ocean. The aquarium was awesome! We enjoyed the beaches and beautiful landscapes, resting and relaxing. We loved eating at Beach Bums. The food was excellent, the waitstaff outstanding and friendly and you could sit outside and watch the boats in the harbor and see the ocean. Just down the street from the condo-outstanding!

Nice property. clean and well maintained. The unit was 2 bedroom and well stocked with almost everything you need. The blender was well used and mixed up some of the finest drinks, just perfect while watching the sunset and ending another day in paridise. A rental car is a must...but the local bus system works very well to get to major shopping areas anywhere on the Island and only cost $1.00 each way ! Only concern was the trade winds...and boy do they blow in this area. Some nights the wind was so bad we moved to the sofa bed as the noise in the back bedroom was unreal. We had very poor "wireless" connections and advised the owner...they arranged for us to pickup a new modem which helped somewhat but still had too many disconnects so we hard wired our laptop to the modem and it worked perfectly. Other than that we had a great holiday and the folks that rented the unit out did everything to make sure our holidays worked out really good...thank you. We highly recommend this unit to anyone interested in a place in Maui.

Made our first trip to Maui in September and stayed at this condo on the recommendation of a friend. Our week in Maui lived up to all the positive reviews thanks in large to what this condo had to offer. Clean and modern interior, great view from the lanai, restaraunts within walking distance, located directly on the beach and conveniently positioned to main attractions on the central, western and southern side of the island. All these attributes yet on a quiet dead-end street and sitting directly on Sugar Beach that offers an unexpected sense of privacy. My wife and I have set a goal of returning very soon for reasons noted above. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that we could hear the sound of the waves from the masterbedroom during the night. This is paradise! Winston & Lily

We are heading back to this incredible vacation condo in March (2009)for our second visit. Not much to say that hasn't already been said. This is first class from the owners to the comfort of home away from home. Everything you'd want when experiencing Hawaii. Whale watching, fishing, surfing, resturaunts, beach, etc. We can't wait! :)

We stayed here for 19 days in March. It was probably one of the best holidays we have gone on as a family. The beach is perfect to go for long walks on. We were able to watch the whales from our lanai. The pool and grounds are beautiful and the condo was perfect. Everything we needed was there. Another nice thing about this location is how handy it is to everywhere on the island. It does not take long to get anywhere and shopping is close by. We are already planning on going back and will definitely stay in this unit.

Upon arrival we saw that we were very close to the water. When we got into the condo I went straight to the lanai and was delighted at the spectacular view. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The condo had so many add ons that they dont tell you about. Cooler, boogey boards, beach towels and many other items. I would highly recommend this unit. Thanks again for the great stay.

We just returned from two wonderful weeks in this lovely condo. Very nicely decorated - loved the ceramic tile. It had everything we needed plus things we didn't think about. We used the cooler everyday and washer/dryer was a must. We (Lin and Lorraine and our friend's Ken and Donna) took in a lot of activities (Biked down Haleakala, Shark Dive at Maui Ocean Centre, trip over to Pearl Harbour were the three highlights) and probably spent about 2 hours total at the pool (our loss). Whales!!!! I forgot the whales - that was fabulous -only had one set of binoculars, so we fought over them. We loved the fact that Maalaea Bay is so centrally located and the condo itself got the afternoon sun. We would loved to return again and definately recommend it. Thanks!!!!

Elizabeth and i weregreeted by Mike and Lynette and the kids upon arrival and what an immaculate reception it was. The temp was in the low 80's and the breeze was just enough to keep us cool. Our kids were so excited, they would not sit still for a minute. We had waited for 3.5 years for this trip and inthe first night we had realized we should have done this trip every year since moving to Edwards. The room was spotless and the condo grounds ere lush, green and beautiful. We loved the closeness of the private beach and the whales within 1/2 mile of our condo. The view was perfect enough to allow the kids to play in the pool or on the beach while some of the family relaxed on the lanai. We did tour other parts of the island and were so thankful to have selected the centrally located, but tucked away condo that Mike and Lynette have. It did rain for 3 days there and the Kona wind was untypical for this time of year, but no matter there was always plenty to enjoy and we did just that. From quality family time, to whale watching tours, and watching the Sun rise atop Haleakala (2nd Morning, good call Mike!) We will be back and would like to book it ASAP, Lynette are you opening next year same time? We are in! Thanks for everything and good to visit with You, Mike and the kids. Fly Safe, see ya soon Steve, Elizabeth and the kids!

The best vacation we've ever had was at #413 Kanai A Nalu! The condo is beautiful and so conveniently located ... central to everything! We golfed at Kapalua one day and snorkeled at Wailea the next. We slept like babies in the comfortable bed, and Mike even enjoyed his guilty pleasure ... NFL on a Sunday morning! With quick access to the beach, beautiful views from the lanai, and an easy drive from the airport, we will definitely be return guests!

This was our 3rd trip to Maui but the first with the kids, teenage daughter and 11 year olds twins. This Condo was perfect for the family. The twins loved having their own room and the teenager made her self at home on the hideabed, she even stopped using her iPod at night because she loved the sound of the ocean. The central location of this condo makes it a very good choice and the small condo complex made it easy for us to allow the kids to go to the pool by themselves while we watched them from the lanai. Lynnette and Mike have done a nice job of outfitting it with everything you may need and the BBQ grills are new and work well so you can grill fresh fish for dinner. I would recommend this nice sized and centrally located condo to any family traveling to Maui.

We had the BEST vacation! We stayed for 14 nights March 16-30th. The 10 hour flight was well worth it when we saw this beautiful condo. We felt very lucky to have found such a perfect place to stay. Our kids are 7 & 5 and they loved having their own room and their own beds. First time ever they slept good away from home. We loved drinking coffee in the morning on the lanai and watching the whales, sea turtles, even a sea lion came to play. We took a tour of a big resort, so crowded and noisy, we couldn't wait to leave. When we go back to Maui, this will be the only place we will stay. Thank you Mike & Lynnette!

#413 No Ka Oi! The best sleep ever in the new king bed and Egyptian cotton sheets, open windows with palm trees waving and moonlit ocean skies! During the day you can go in any direction to play as #413 is central to Wailea/La Perouse, SUNSET at Haleakala (see Ma'alaea local, Maui Star Gazers),Lahaina, or Paia (Mama's Fish House). If we bought it would be at Kanai A Nalu!

We stayed for a week in late June of 2005. The condo location was great - quiet, very clean, wonderful view from the lanai. After seeing other properties and how congested it is over in Kihei, we felt very lucky. We would highly recommend!

Our family stayed at this condo for six nights from 6/5 - 6/10/05. The whole complex was very quiet, well-kept and centrally located to anything you might like to do in Maui. This unit is very well appointed and has an absolutely lovely view from the lanai. The owners are very responsive, and although they don't live on Maui, they have a management company in place to handle any problems that might come up. We were very happy staying here and would love to return...it is a charming piece of paradise.
