About the owner: I'm 44 year old and work in comunication and marketing department of public company.
Why the Owner Chose Pantheon: One of the most desirable areas of Rome, this district is a maze of narrow streets and alleys dating from the Middle Ages. It is filled with churches and palaces built during the Renaissance and baroque eras, often with rare marble and other materials stripped from ancient Rome. The only way to explore it is on foot. Its heart is Piazza Navona, built over Emperor Domitian's stadium and bustling with sidewalk cafes, palazzi, street artists, musicians, and pickpockets. There are several hotels in the area and plenty of trattorie.
Rivaling Piazza Navona -- in general activity, the cafe scene, and nightlife -- is the area around the Pantheon, which remains from ancient Roman times and is surrounded by a district built much later (this 'pagan' temple was turned into a church and rescued, but the buildings that once surrounded it are long gone). Wandering through the Pantheon area you don't realize how close you are to so many of Rome's finest historical treasures. The reference point is the Piazza della Rotonda - the square in front of the Pantheon, which seems more like the Pantheon's courtyard. Approaching the Roman Pantheon from its rear you might not even look twice at its plain circular brick facade, not even a hint is given as to the spectacle that awaits within. It's only once you approach the front portico and its massive granite columns that the goose bumps set in...
Not 100m from the apartment, in Piazza di Pietra, you find the remains of the Temple of Hadrian. Originally built to honor the Emperor Hadrian and his son, the most visible remains are the front facade of 11 marble columns. The building is now home to the Rome stock exchange.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment: The Pantheon area is very central to most Rome tourist attractions, and right on the doorstep of the triangle of the favorite Rome areas - Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori and Trastevere.
