Located at Shutters-on-the-Beach, a deluxe oceanfront condominium complex (built in 2003) in Pine Knoll Shores (at the western end of Atlantic Beach). Pine Knoll Shores is a small town nestled in a maritime forest between the ocean dunes and Bogue Sound on what is known as "The Crystal Coast" (Southern Outer Banks). The land was owned by the heirs of Theodore Roosevelt and developed with careful attention to preservation of the natural environment, making it one of the most ecologically sensitive towns in North Carolina.
The accommodation is an 1134 sq.ft. corner unit in a building comprised of 6 condos (arranged to maximize the privacy of each unit). It is an excellent choice for guests with mobility problems. The two assigned parking spaces are directly opposite the elevator with only a few steps beyond to the door. The entrance leads to an exceptionally spacious, light, and airy living room which has a gas fireplace (non-working), Cable TV w/ VCR, stereo sound system (CD & cassette), comfortable seating including two sofas (one which converts to a high-quality queen size bed), and additional storage for guests.
The living room is open to the fully equipped kitchen with bar seating and adjoining dining area. A stacking washer/dryer and pantry are also off the kitchen. The large covered porch has comfortable seating for 6 with a small dining table and electric grill. The adjacent boardwalk leads to the pool and the beach. The pool is only a short distance away, but is discreetly hidden from view, and a few more steps take you to the beautiful white sand beach. From the living room, dining area and porch, there is a wonderful view across the dunes to the ocean. Dolphins can often be spotted swimming near the shore.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed, Cable TV, private bathroom, and walk-in closet. The second bedroom also has a queen size bed, Cable TV/DVD, large closet, and direct access to the second bathroom (which is also accessed from the hallway). The space throughout is comfortable and inviting, featuring original art and accessories, tasteful décor, and attention to detail.

We just returned from our trip to the Shutters on the Beach in Pine Knoll Shores. We had a great time and the condo was great. The back covered deck was my favorite spot. Parking was assigned, so you never had a parking issue. Condo had everything we needed. Vicki was very helpful and she answered any questions I had.
