Come stay in our west-side cottage - the perfect place to experience Santa Cruz like a local. We are one mile from the beach and boardwalk and ten blocks from downtown. Everything in Santa Cruz is easy to access from this charming, updated spot.
The Space This light filled studio apartment is cozy, smartly decorated, private and comfortable. Located behind a gate on a quiet street, the studio apartment features a large 350 SF room with a queen bed and flat screen TV, closet, dining table, couch, full size kitchen with all the things you need, a separate 100 SF bathroom, and covered patio.
The complete kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, sink, stove, toaster and coffee maker. It comes with all the dishes, pots and pans, utensils, serving ware, and flatware you need. Tea, coffee, snacks, milk and english muffins are provided.
There is a comfortable ROWE couch and the plush queen bed comes with new bedding and super soft 400 thread count sheets. The dining table is an antique from the 1800's and seats two. The flatscreen TV can be rotated to face any direction in the room and is approximately 26".
The bath has a stall shower and plenty of new, fluffy towels. Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are provided, along with other bathroom necessities such as face wash and q-tips.
The porch and patio furniture are perfect for morning coffee and bird watching.
The neighborhood The walkability of our spot makes it essential Santa Cruz. We are one mile from the beach and boardwalk and a quarter mile from downtown. The beach is a short 5 minute bike ride or 20 minute walk.
Even closer to home, walk a few blocks to Emily’s Bakery, Sabieng Thai, or Taqueria Vallarta. We are also only a few blocks from an organic grocery and health store.
Our neighborhood is filled with some of the oldest Victorian’s in the City; including ours. This property was established in 1888. However, the cottage was built in 2006.
Getting Around You do not need a car to experience Santa Cruz from our house. Everything you want to see in Santa Cruz is a walk or bike ride away - including downtown, the beach, the boardwalk, West Cliff, tacos, an organic grocery store and a plethora of coffee shops. The City bus station is a short ten minute walk.
Guest Access Guests are entitled to one parking spot in our driveway. Guests are welcome to use our backyard, grill and furniture.
Interaction with Hosts We live on the property but will not interfere with your stay. Your apartment is completely detached from our main house and has a separate entrance. We will respect your privacy, but of course, are always welcome for questions.

The Guest Cottage shares a good size backyard with the main house and guests are welcome to use it. We have a tennis court across the street. We are in an ideal location to explore Santa Cruz by walking or biking. From our house you can take these routes:
Walk to downtown in 10 min through the Historic District and see the oldest homes in Santa Cruz
Walk to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk in 25 min through the Neary Wildlife Lagoon and get clam chowder or ride the roller coasters.
Walk the 60 min round trip West Cliff loop with beautiful views of the Ocean and Beaches.
Walk to Natural Bridges State Park in 25 min and see the Monarch butterfly nesting area where tens of thousands of butterflies congregate.

The Unique Benefits at this Studio: We live on a street that only serves the High School, which means that it is very quiet here when school is not in session. You can hear the sea lions, and on very quiet nights you can hear the waves! In the morning you see the sunrise from the bed.
