An absolutely stunning and recently remodeled example of a historically listed Cottage in North Laguna, one of the most sought after neighborhoods.
Laguna is a walking town, especially in the summer when traffic and parking can be problematic! This location boasts a two block walk to the best coved beaches in Laguna: Crescent Bay, Diver's Cove, Fishermans... and also one of the most beautiful parks in the world, Heisler Park; you walk two blocks to the park and then 1/2 mile through the most beautiful park scenery on the planet, with stunning Pacific Coast views, to Main Beach and Downtown, about 10 minutes, but you'll linger for sure! In the summer there's a free trolley service to move you all over Laguna which stops one block away... and an app to track them so you don't waste time waiting at a stop! It's also only a block from Boat Canyon which has restaurants, Vons Grocery store, Spas and Gyms.
Location really is everything in Laguna and this spot not only allows walking distance to the best spots, it's North location also allows by far the quickest routes to outside locations like Crystal Cove, Fashion Island, South Coast Plaza, Disneyland, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, LA... SNA Airport is only 15 minutes away.
The house is a historic early 1900's cottage, so much character, but has been completely remodeled with all new appliances and mod-cons. There are two master suites, both with ensuite bathrooms. One has a king bed, 47' flatscreen tv and faces towards the ocean with Catalina views, the bathroom has a lovely walk in shower. The second is darker and restful, a queen bed and a *luxurious* new bathroom with rain shower and jacuzzi tub.
The living area is large with dramatic cathedral ceilings, modern fireplace, chandelier, TV area with sofas you fall into, Premium Directv, Bose Sound, and BluRay player... oh, and a baby grand piano. If you play the piano then sit and watch the sun go down over Catalina as you play! There's also a desk with brand new HP Revo computer and free Wifi.
The Kitchen has been upgraded to all new Samsung appliances, Brazilian granite countertops, every piece of cookware you need to serve gourmet dishes! There's a Vitamix, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle and drawers and cupboards filled with spices, teas, utensils and everything else you need to feel like a home away from home.
You open up to the back patio from the living area or kitchen and have an entertainers paradise. Rustic French style solid wood dining table and benches, Sofa seating, sun lounger, new BBQ and mood setting night lighting. There's even a misting system to keep you cool if laying out.
A separate private office room with desk, printer and a space to be alone if you need to work, as well as a separate laundry room with full size washer/dryer, beach gear and storage.
The front of the house is so quaint with a picturesque, historic, beach cottage welcome! Manicured front lawn, night lighting, rose garden and driveway parking for two cars.
This home has history, style and character but also great modern decor and amenities. Plus the location is absolutely perfect!

Laguna Beach is absolutely the gem of Southern California! Incredible beaches and sunsets, parks and cultural activity through art, in all forms that inspire and balance so well with the incredible scenery. Michelin award winning restaurants, art festivals, live music, shopping from exclusive to boutique. Hiking, surfing, healthy eating, pampering at reknown spas. Laguna really is the Positano of the States... it's an eclectic mix of art, history, luxury, beauty and has a vibe all it's own.
Year Purchased: 2013
About the owner: Hi, I'm Gary. I'm originally from England but have lived in Laguna Beach for 20 years. I came here for work in the software biz and thought I'd only stay for 2-3 years. Needless to say, this place is pretty special!
Why the Owner Chose Laguna Beach: I've lived all over Laguna Beach but I especially like North Laguna. It's beaches remind me of the coves in the Mediterranean. Heisler Park runs besides them and it's all just two blocks away. Walk a couple of mins to the park and then take as much time as you can to walk along the pacific coast through the park's incredible beauty to downtown Laguna, it's about half a mile, 10 mins, but you'll take longer! Plus, if you need to get out of dodge, there's no faster way in the summer traffic than heading out North to the 73 and 405 freeways. Great shopping in Crystal Cove is a few miles away, and as you head North you hit Newport, Huntington, Long Beach, LA... Location is pretty important in Laguna Beach!
The Unique Benefits at this House: The house has amazing charm and I bought it with the mindset of remodeling, it now feels luxurious but also warm and homely. It's been a labor of love... I live here... I'm proud of it and think anyone renting it would love it too. I hope so.
