My husband and I came to Paris for a week and stayed here on a recommendation. We were quite happy with both the location and the apartment. We would be quite happy to repeat the experience. It is walkable to all sights and very relaxing and serene to come home to.

My husband, baby, and dog stayed at the apartment over the US Thanksgiving weekend and love it! It was conveniently located on the bottom floor which helped with our stroller. Once inside, it was quite quiet and cozy with everything we needed to feel at home. Although we did not cook, the kitchen was well equipped with an American sized refrigerator. The location was amazing and what we loved most of all. Supermarkets, bakeries, and a cheese shop were all within ~5 min walking distance. We never used the metro but rather walked everywhere during our stay. Although we walked a LOT, some much was within reasonable walking distance (Notre Dame, Champs Elysees, Louvre, etc). We did walk to the Eiffel Tower, but I recommend good walking shoes for that trip! We currently live in Europe and want to get back to Paris for another long weekend when time permits. We would be very happy staying in this property again.

It is hard to add anything to all of the fantastic reviews already placed for this rental property! From the very beginning, the landlord was extremely responsive, from my initial inquiry, to the barrage of emails I sent asking various questions about a hair dryer, how to make my deposit, changing the dates of the stay. Throughout it all, he replied almost immediately (within 24 hours for sure, more like 12 hours), and was very pleasant and helpful. The property itself was clean, well maintained and very well equipped (kitchen - microwave, refrigerator, stove, oven, washer/dryer; bathroom - with a hair dryer :D, large bath tub; entertainment center with flat panel tv, DVD player, nice speakers; laptop and wireless Internet for use with my iPad; fold out sofabed that was surprisingly (to me) very comfortable (the most comfortable sofabed I have ever slept on, actually was equivalent to a normal bed)). It is a studio, but had plenty of space for my wife and me, and compared to some other accommodations I have stayed at in Europe, this place was very spacious (particularly with the bed folded up). Oh yeah, and there are extra guidebooks and a little reading library there too! With regard to the location, as other reviewers have stated, the apartment door takes you to a courtyard area that is very quiet, and sheltered from major road/traffic noise. The neighborhood feels very safe, and walking distances to most places was quite reasonable. 5 minute walk from the front door to the subway, a reasonable walk to most places to visit in the la Marais area. We actually, walked home from the Louvre.... which was a bit far... but feasible... (probably will just take the metro next time!). Overall, this apartment was a fantastic place to stay, and when we come back to Paris (someday), we will certainly be looking to stay here again.

My experience in Didier's apartment was nothing less than wonderful. For the past several years, I have been spending a few weeks during the fall in Paris and this stay was one of the best. The accommodations were great. For a single traveler, and even a couple, this is the perfect place. Reasonable rate, spectacular location, and the most hospitable host. The caretaker of the property and the tenants in the building are very friendly. Fantastic local cafes and restaurants, not to mention supermarkets, both large and small. Convenient Metro stops very near the apartment. Highly recommend!

This apartment is so quiet and away from traffic and noise. You can even have the windows opened and still very quiet, nice surroundings and nice bathroom and bath tube. The area (4 arrondissement/Maris) is just so fantastic and there are so many nice bars, restaurants, market, shops, etc. However, the apartment is not very big when you have made the bed ready for two persons. But for sure we can recommend it and we would like to return to this apartment.

I tell all my friends that Paris was my favorite part of 3 weeks in Europe and our Paris apartment was what made our stay there so fantastic. Didier was right there to welcome us and be sure we were all set up with the wi-fi and appliances. Being able to connect with family on the internet and the phone was just what we needed. The whole apartment was even more charming than the photos. There was everything we needed in the kitchen and having a bathtub to soak in was wonderful. Everyday after we got back from sightseeing, we picked up a few groceries at the corner market and relaxed, safe and sound in our quiet apartment. I loved having the security of 2 magnetic key access doors and the quiet enclosed garden setting. I only wish we could have stayed longer and the other apartments we stayed in were as wonderful as this one! Many, many thanks to our new friend, Didier!

My wife and I spent 5 nights at Didier's apartment in early June 2011. Easy walks to shopping, fresh croissants, restaurants, the subway(Metro) and many museums and streets to wander and cafes to watch the world go by. Paris is an amazing city and this apartment was perfect for our needs. Most comfortable sofa bed we've ever slept on. Didier even provided a laptop to search local attractions and lots of guidebooks and free VOIP phone calls to home. Totally enjoyed Le Petit Marche a local recommended restaurant and the Museum Carnavalet(a few blocks away) which had a strong focus on the history of Paris through the ages. This stay was our 10th VRBO experience and we've never been disappointed.

We stayed in this apartment for 10 days in May, 2011. It was in a fabulous neighborhood and in walking distance to so many sights. There are two metros nearby as well. The apartment is well appointed and very private. The windows overlook a small grassy area where no one can see in. After traveling for five weeks before arriving in Paris, it was great to have a small kitchen to cook some meals. There is also a washer/dryer in the apartment, which was very handy. It also has a computer with internet use. Didier, the owner, was very helpful with all of our questions. I would highly recommend staying in this very nice apartment.

This apartment is much larger than the average studio in Paris and is quite beautiful with an especially handsome bathroom. Out the very large windows is a small but lovely green space with trees, visited by absolutely no one except the large Wood Pigeons and the small Blackbirds--it's a tiny nature reserve. Even better for an older person with poor knees (i.e. me), the apartment is on the ground floor, so there are no steps at all--another Paris rarity. The building itself is sympathetic modern construction semi-connected to a much older building, which I believe is the 17th c. house of the Grand Veneur (hunting master) of the street name. The two buildings sort of surround a large courtyard (large enough for kids to play football despite the signs forbidding that, but no one seems to mind and the kids are very nice about it) and containing at the other end an extensive rose garden--almost as large and varied as the famous one at the Jardin des Plantes--it's an exceptionally nice, quiet place for a glass of wine in the evening (there is no traffic noise at all in this pedestrian area). The neighborhood has all the conveniences you need, including a large supermarket very close by--go out the coutryard's back entrance and it's right down the alley a hundred feet. For the bank and other things, go out the front entrance and there out on the Boulevard is everything you could possibly need. The Place des Vosges, one of Paris's most beautiful squares, is just two blocks away (out the back entrance again) for a nice place to dine or read on a shady bench or sit on the grass in the sun. Both the Place Bastille and Republique are easy walks with again all manner of shops, cafes, restaurants, and even the opera house (not to mention excellent Metro connections). But a lot is in walking distance; the Pompidou is only a few blocks west and the Carnavalet is even closer on very lively Rue des Bourgeois Francs, along with the rest of the trendy Marais. The cute "Village" of St. Paul is a couple of blocks further south (with an excellent English language bookstore if you need one--I did--I wanted to read Flaubert's Sentimental Education and got one there). Even the Seine is an easy walk, and I strolled down there and along the river every evening and most mornings too. So in case you haven't noticed, this is a rave review, and by the way, Didier is the perfect landlord--ready to help if needed, out of the way, when not. Thanks for eveyrthing, Didier!

Owner (Didier) met us right on time and did an excellent job of taking us through all aspects of the property. The unit is fully equipped for instant drop-in living and all appliances worked perfectly. Quiet, light-filled, ground floor unit. Excellent security. Hide-away couch bed unexpected but turned out to be comfortable, large and easy to store while fully made-up. Some minor maintenance needed (peeling paint, hand-held shower holder) but not really a problem. Location is really nice. Very close to Chemin Vert Metro and St. Paul Metro (i.e.taxi) an easy 5 minute walk. Super Marche, boulangerie and casual eating all very nearby. Entry is through a very large, private courtyard - impressive Would recommend to a friend and would stay there again myself.

My wife and I spend our honeymoon in Didier's apartment and had a fantastic time. The description and photos give an accurate preview of the apartment. It is right next to a metro stop and a small grocery. The apartment is very cosy and well maintained, and Didier could not have been more helpful. We had many complications beyond our control and he did everything he could to accommodate and assist us. I would recommend this listing to anyone looking to take a trip to Paris.

We spent just two nights in this wonderful studio apartment in a great location in Marais. You can walk to great food, attractions and if you are not the walking type, you can hop on the Metro to all the major attractions. The Marais area is a short Metro ride from major tourists spots but is an area worth staying in and exploring. As I say that, my wife and walked back to this apartment from the Pompidiou Center in 20 minutes. The sofa bed is comfortable and the free laptop and internet on site is a nice touch. We did not cook but there was tea, lots of sugar, coffee (for us Americans!), and the laundry machine was nice to have available. The owner is friendly, easier to communicate with, and answers email well. My wife and I loved our stay here!

Just returned from a 1 week stay in Didier's apartment and everything was as advertised. It was very helpful to have the laptop, especially when I needed to get information during the Paris strikes! The apartment was comfortable and had everything that you would need. The 20 supermarket is nearly and I especially liked the bakery on Rue St Giles. Access to the metro was very convenient and the location was so central that you could walk to many places in Paris. Didier was great as a landlord. He always responded right away to any questions that I had. I would definately return.

We stayed at Didier's apartment the first half of October, 2010. It was just as advertised: small but efficient. full kitchen, bath with tub, washer/dryer, lots of entertainment center, a laptop which was SO convenient (and WIFI!!) and a convertible bed that was actually extremely comfortable as advertised! close to metro stops, lots of restaurants and little food stores, comfortable walking distance to the Seine, Notre Dame, Carnavalet Museum (a must see). and, it was more quiet than our own home - traffic-free street, only residents so no night noise at all. Didier was helpful and prompt. for a single person or a couple sharing a bed, it's a very good choice. Bottom line - it was restful, we felt good coming "home" after sightseeing all day. we stayed connected with the TV and WIFI and laptop. We could do our own laundry. Eat breakfast and snacks and make our own coffee when we wanted to.

Just ended 3 weeks in Didier's apartment and it was wonderful. Loved the convenient yet peaceful location, access to 2 metro stations, restaurants, cafes galore. The apartment was just as charming as the pictures and well appointed - had everything we could need. The perfect base for our Paris adventure. Were a little worried about the comfort of the sofa bed, but shouldn't have been because it was very comfortable. And also have to admit we didn't miss an 'American shower' one bit. The soaking tub and handheld shower after a long day touring Paris proved to be so relaxing - we're converts! Didier was so easy to work with - replied quickly to any questions we had. Hope to visit again! after

We spent a wonderful week in Didier's studio. It is located in a very quiet courtyard, next to a lovely rose garden and only 2 blocks from the Place des Voges. It is walking distance to most attractions in Paris, yet the immediate neighborhood is pretty much unaffected by tourism and feels very authentically Parisian. While the studio is small, it worked very well for the two of us because if is so functional. It has a lovely large tub to relax in, a full kitchen, a laptop with internet access, a phone, DVD player and even a washer and dryer. The place is very clean and felt very safe. The best croisants are found two blocks north up on the Blvd. Beaumarchais (left side corner )and a lovely reasonably priced local restaurant Le Petit Marche is just 2 blocks south (duck with fig sauce and grilled little bananas!) on the street parallel to Blvd. Beaumarchai that leads right into the Place des Voges. I would definitely recommend this studio.

We stayed in Didier’s apartment for five and a half weeks during June and July, finding that it surpassed all of our expectations. The washer/dryer, fridge and stove are all full size appliances and more than adequate for day to day living. The laptop computer was also a bonus for contacting family and friends at home and searching the web. The bed is very, very comfortable! The G20 supermarche down the street was a wonderful place to purchase our household items, along with wines and other drinks. We also found the rose garden next to the apartment to be a place of tranquillity, a relaxing place to read a book, have a pleasant lunch or sit in peace. We were very pleased with the total lack of traffic noise in the apartment – no early morning rubbish trucks! The apartment was also in walking distance to many of our favourite sights and cafes/restaurants, in particular the Place des Vosges. All in all, we had a highly enjoyable stay in our “home away from home”. We will definitely return again very soon to Didier’s apartment.

My daughter and I spent a great week at Didier's apartment in March, and found it to be wonderfully located and equipped for what we wanted to do. We walked everywhere from there, and only had to use public transportation a couple of times. The apartment has nice cooking facilities for those times we wanted to save money by eating in, but is located close to many restaurants and is a safe location to return to even late at night. The big bathtub is great, as is the laptop thoughtfully provided by Didier. Didier answered all my questions promptly, and I really appreciated his accepting Paypal for the apartment deposit. I have rented many apartments, and this was the easiest one yet to arrange. He's a wonderful landlord.

We stayed in Didier's apartment 18-21 February and greatly enjoyed our stay. Didier was extremely helpful throughout all stages of the rental process, from initial enquiry through to our departure. The apartment is as described, very comfortable (including the sofabed) and well appointed. The location is very good for transportation links generally, and a great base for trying out the wide range of bars & restaurants around Bastille and Le Marais.
Owner response:Thank you! I translate this comment in English for those who don't read French: "Apartment very well located, very well furnished, with a very comfortable bed. Apartment gives on a small garden and a pedestrial street, so there is no car noise although we are in the center of Paris. The area is one of the most attractive and pleasant in Paris, very close from the Place des Vosges and from the metro. Moreover , the owner is very welcoming and friendly. Well, an excellent address in Paris for work or for holidays."

I spent 2 weeks in Paris in February 2010 [I am writing this much later, but I somehow owe it], when I came for a series of performances at the Opera, TCE and Salle Pleyel. I digged out this cosy nice little place and found it as an almost perfect venue for just about everything it has to offer. The location was great, a few minutes of walk to Opera Bastille [and this proved a great asset when I discovered one evening that the performance was starting half an hour earlier than the usual hour]; Opera Garnier and the others easily reached by subway; in fact, just the whole Paris is at your feet and easily reachable. It was not difficult to come from the airport, although it took 2 changes on the way. The host was waiting us and was very nice about everything. The place is just big enough for one guy, a couple or a small family, with a large bed that can accomodate even 3 people, or at least 2 adults and one child. Inside it has just about everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen [with a lot of things that I never used], a large fridge with freezer, a large capacity washer/dryer and a very nice bathroom; for those who like it, ther is a full high quality home-theatre system, with a large LCD [lots of tv-stations], dvd-player and surround-audio; it also provides a good internet connection, which was extremely useful for some things we had to do during the stay. The heating was fine and the position makes it convenient and quiet, far from the street noises. There is also a mini-market close by, where you can buy what you want as food and house-ware. It is clean and easy to keep, so....what more can it be added? If I would want to find something less perfect, it would be the front door, that was not properly insulated [this may have changed in the meanwhile] and a strong flow of cold air was passing underneath it. It also proved little noise protection in case someone made a fuss outside. But........were I to come back if given a chance? Definitely YES!!!

It was our first time in Paris so ease of getting to all the sights, plus a real "Paris ambience" was essential to us, and the Marais fit that bill. Having "all the amenities of home" was important too, as of course was cost. We narrowed our search to two or three places and it was the warm, positive reviews of Didier and how helpful he had been to all his tenants that made our final decision.......and we weren't disappointed. He was never impatient with our many e-mail questions during trip planning, and he was always concerned during our stay that the apartment be in the best possible condition. But most of all, he became our friend! We are already thinking of when our next trip to Paris will be, and there is no question of where we will stay our who our host will be. It was the best thing to come home each night to such a cozy, comfortable place, and to know that we were so well taken care of! Merci, Didier, pour tout!

Bonjour Didier, We are very well and hope you and your family are enjoying the summer. My feedback of choosing your apartment is as follows: 1. The location--Marais area is where we wanted to be. It is close to everything (groceries, shopping) and especially the train, which meant we could travel anywhere in Paris quickly. 2. The pedestrian street was definitely what sold us. Hard to find in Paris. Your apartment was so quite and very, very safe yet just a short walk away from the Metro. 3. The price--you have one of the best prices considering you charge a small security deposit. Most other apartments I looked at were charging in excess of 500-100 euro for security deposit in addition to a 900-1200-- euro rental fee for the 1 week. 4. The ease of how we could pay you--very simple. Make a deposit on PayPal and we were booked. The rest was to come in cash. 5. Your personal service--very hard to find. We have travelled alot and it was such a pleasure to deal directly with you to address any questions and then to meet you in person and have you explain how everything in your apartment worked. The directions you provided to find your place were perfect. We have never had such an easy time flying into a major airport, catching a taxi and then arriving at our destination to unpack and then start touring Paris. WOW! There is alot to be said about this and the lack of stress. This is so valuable and greatly appreciated. 6. The equipment was an added bonus and not what sells us as we aren't there too often. However, with this said it definitely spoiled us and having the laptop was excellent. We used it daily to check the weather and we were able to communicate back home. As well, being able to make an international call was fantastic, as I was able to quickly call home. This is something we will miss in other rentals. 7. Your site on VRBO is a true and honest reflection of your apartment and what we could expect. No surprises and EXACTLY what the pictures looked like and all details EXACTLY what we had. Such a pleasure to actually receive what you paid for. John & I would love to rent from you again when back in Paris. Warm regards from Canada, Cindy & John

We stayed at the apartment for 6 nights in mid-July, 2009 and found that it met our needs very nicely. The location is literally 5 minutes walk to the metro station and to the Place des Vosges. It is also easy walking distance to Marais shopping and restaurants. It is on the ground floor of a very nice building, with a window looking out on an enclosed grass courtyard. It is extremely quiet at all hours. Although we did not cook much at the apartment because we wanted to go out, the kitchen is well-equipped. The bathroom is very nice and large by Paris standards. It was very useful to have the laptop computer at the apartment when we were there. Last but not least, Didier was extremely helpful.

It's a lovely place. We really enjoyed our stay. It make us feel like home away from home. The neighborhood is not touristy, make you feel like a local, a real Parisan. We highly recommend it.

My husband and I just spent two weeks in Didier's apartment (June/July) and we cannot say enough about this wonderful little find. Although it is small, it is a delightful place to stay- beautifully designed, clean, every amenity possible (including a laptop and phone!), comfortable and in the BEST location ever. The Marais is just an amazing place, we could have spent our entire stay in this area. We were initially concerned about the comfort of a pull-out sofa, but it turned out that this bed (queen sized) may be the most comfortable we've ever slept on. There is no shower, just a bath tub, but my husband just used the shower head (long cord) and was able to shower anyway. I loved the tub. We also loved the towel warmers! IT was very hot in Paris during part of our stay, but it never got hot in the apartment. Maybe this is because it's on the ground floor, or because the large windows open to a shaded private courtyard. The fan was all we needed when the temps were unusually hot for Paris. The best part of this apartment is the INCREDIBLE location (and very safe). You can walk out of the door and find a little park where children play and older people sit and read under the trees. It's so beautiful, and sooo French. The immediate area is filled with great little shops, cafes, the Place des Vosges!! and a boulangerie that is just the best. The metro stations are both very close, a hop, skip, and a jump. Lastly, Didier is such a delightful and very helpful young man whom we enjoyed getting to know. He is very responsive and really wants your stay in his apartment to be a comfortable and pleasant one. For us, it was just that, and more. If we come back to Paris, we will definitely stay here again. Merci Didier!

This apartment is perfectly located and very clean, comfortable and quiet. Didier is very professional and we found some of the extras in the apartment, like the laptop with internet, very convenient. I would definitely use this apartment again in the future.

We stayed at Didiers apartment for a quick 4 day break in May. We found Didier to be very helpful from our first enuiry right through to our departure. The apartment was very clean, homely and and well equipt. It was well laid out and the sofa bed was surprisingly large and very comfortable. The neighbourhood is very friendly and the rose garden was lovely to sit in and watch the world go by. We found all of the touristy sights were easy to get to on foot even though we weren't in a tourist area as such. I would definately reccomend this apartment.

I spent 6 weeks in the spring of 2009 at the apartment, perfect for a single person. I liked the quiet, non-touristy location. The appliances, large TV, and bath are very nice. The apartment is very close to 2 convenient bus lines. There is a lovely garden located in the apartment complex’s courtyard. The Place des Vosges and the Musee Picasso are nearby. Didier, the owner, is very helpful. I am eager to return.

I stayed at this lovely apartment for a month in May 08 – June 08. What a find! Everything was perfect: the location, the apartment, the people and, of course, Paris. Everything you need is minutes away: the metro, lovely cafes and restaurants. The apartment is well equipped with: internet, telephone and kitchen. The bed is comfy. The building is super secure and does not have touristy bustle or noise. The owner is friendly and helpful. I agree with Esther and Alfonsus that Le Marais area around Place de Vosges is one of the nicest areas in Paris. I can’t wait to go back and discover more of the hidden Paris!

The apartment is very nice, confortable, clean and well equipped (sofa.bed, kitchen, large bathroom with bath and shower, hi-fi, pc with adsl connection, flat screen TV, telephone), set in a quite and residencial street, very close to two metro lines, the main Paris attraction and to the wonderful shopping and entertaining Marais district. Didier, the owner, is very helpful and precise. We highly recommend the apartment and his owner and hope to come again as soon as possibile.

We stayed in this cute little studio for three nights at the end of November, 2008. The apartment was nicely equipped with all the amenities needed for a nice stay. Didier was there to meet us and did an excellent job, in English, explaining how everything worked. The apartment also has an excellent detailed guide explaining how everything works and giving a great deal of other information. We enjoyed the apartment's quiet setting, away from traffic noise, and also its close walking proximity to Paris attractions such as the Louvre and Notre Dame. We would highly recommend this apartment to singles or couples visiting Paris.

We spent 6 nights at this apartment in early October, 2008. First, a comment about Didier. He was most responsive to any and all emails we sent to him prior to our decision to rent the apartment. (We have been to Paris many times, but as far as staying in an apartment this was a first for us.) The rue de Grande Veneur, a residential street, is a quiet oasis in a very busy city, and a great area to walk to places like the Place des Vosges, Pompidou Center, and Ile de la Cite. The building is quite secure and the apartment is fully equipped and comfortable with the convenience of a laptop computer, flat screen TV with over 100 channels, and one hour of free phone use to anywhere. One last point – on our last night, we ran into language problems arranging for a taxi to get to CDG the following morning. A help call to Didier solved the problem and the next morning the taxi was there exactly on time. For us, there is no question of where we will want to stay on our next trip to this magical city. Hopefully this apartment will be available.Jerry and ElaineCT, USA

We stayed again in this little delicious apartment a couple of months ago, and we consider it "our home in Paris"!...Everything is comfortable inside, the sofa.bed, the kitchen, the large bathroom, hi-fi, pc with adsl connection etc. We appreciate the nice location in the quiet and elegant districht of The Marais, just a 10-15 min walking from Hotel De Ville, Pompidou, just the centre of the Paris!Metro stations, Velib stations (discover Paris by bike, it's so funny!), supermarkets and lots of stores are closest to you! See you as soon as possible, Didier! :)

We have been to Paris on several occasions and prefer staying in the Le Marais area close to Place de Vosges. In our opinion this is one of the nicest areas in Paris and within walking distance of several culture attractions and historical places. Also the shops are plentiful and trendy with a quaint atmosphere. There are local Parisian cafes to dine and very nice around the Place de Vosges square to have breakfast or dinner. One of our favorite attraction is the George Pompidou Center, the exhibitons and art is wonderful. Besides this it is worth just going to the top of the center and have a glass of wine to watch the sun set over Paris and the Eiffel Tower… I would recommend doing some research and find out what exhibitions are showing in Paris during your visit. We “discovered” that the "The Grace Kelly Years : Princess of Monaco" exhibition was in Paris, was excellent and gratis. If you decide to go to the Louvre Museum perhaps to follow the Da Vinci code path would suggest taking the metro and using the underground entrance to the museum instead of street side for quicker entrance especially on the first Sunday of the month! Another place to visit for an afternoon is Montmartre, the views look out over all of Paris, worth the metro ride. The Sacre’Coeur Basillica, dominates the Parisian skyline (can be seen from Pompidou Center) and strolling the streets where the masters (Picasso, Van Gogh, Degas, etc) lived and painted is like going back in time. We were very delighted with Didier’s apartment and the location is perfect, so quiet. We have stayed in hotels and apartments in Le Marais but found this to be the top accommodations. Didier was very helpful to settle us in and some extra support too which is unusual, he is approachable and customer focused. We were able to (again) park our auto on the square of Place des Vosges for the weekend with no issues. This is a nice advantage to staying in this area as often times parking can be found on the square or side streets and safe. The best surprise was how comfortable the sofa-sleeper is, perfect for a good night sleep. Another feature is the apartment is on “ground floor”and the window opened out into a private peaceful area. This visit was one of our best ever and even cooked a meal in! Portable eating in this area of Paris is great for the bakeries, deli’s and markets have delicious food and wine……Thank you very much for making our stay in Paris an enjoyable time!
