In one family for four generations, The Wheelhouse is a classic, three-story, four-bedroom, two and a half-bath, Nantucket home on The Cliff overlooking the harbor entrance with views toward Great Point.
Picnics, beachcombing, and sunny days at Steps Beach, a two-minute walk away; touch football in the fenced grassy "circle" across the street; sunset-hour cocktails on the wrap-around wicker porch watching ferries leaving for the Cape and private yachts heading for the marina; feasts in a dining room that seats 12, and games in the living room are family traditions in this historic summer house.
Antiques including a six-foot diameter ship's wheel, a claw-foot tub in the attic bathroom, and outdoor shower, and big family kitchen complete the home located on Lincoln Circle. There is a large yard with off-street parking for several cars in a high-end neighborhood away from the in-town hubbub.
