Relaxed getaway tucked away in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. This is a well-equipped, 2-story cabin which is several minutes from downtown. Guerneville has gift-shops, art galleries, coffee-shops, restaurants and a Safeway grocery if you're looking to stick around the area. If not--you can drive to the river (minutes away), the beach (20 minutes) or San Francisco (a mere 1-1/2 hours) for sight-seeing and fun. We found the cabin to be the perfect place to wind-down afterwards (especially with the hot-tub!). My family would definitely return!

This is an absolutely wonderful home, tastefully decorated and very clean. The backyard views of the redwoods are amazing, especially while sitting in the hot tub. The home is dog-friendly, the backyard completely fenced in, and there is a separate laundry room where you can keep dog bowls out of the way from foot traffic. The hot water in the bathroom seemed instantaneous and the bed linens and towels were all very good quality. This was my first experience using VRBO and a very positive one!

We wine tasted and tasted and tasted, went horseback riding on the beach, ate fun family style dinners, played in the ocean and the Russian river, and went for a great bike ride over our four days there. I could not have been happier. The downstairs bedroom is very comfortable, be sure not to turn the furnace up much or you will cook the two upstairs bedrooms. Great to have a laundry room and a well setup kitchen. A great central location to hit wine country, the river or ocean. Make sure to hit the coffee shop in Duncan Mills, the mocha is great!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cabin de Menthe. The house is set in an absolutely gorgeous redwood forest with a creek right across the road, and it's very quaint and comfortable. It's not fancy but it's very clean, nicely decorated, and extremely comfortable. The backyard has lots of privacy and is very pet- and kid-secure. The owners were professional and responsive, and they obviously love their little getaway house. You will too! It's very close to Guerneville and the coast, but tucked-away enough that you don't feel in the middle of things. We would definitely stay again!

My family of 4 (two adults, two 6-yr olds) was very happy with our choice of Cabin de Menthe for our vacation accommodations! Upon arrival the cabin was spotless and welcoming, and stocked with all the necessities. We really appreciated having use of towels, sheets, pillows, dishes, etc. The location is spectacular, in the redwoods but not remote. Close to downtown, the river, Armstrong Redwood Forest, and the coast. We enjoyed all of those things without a long drive to and from. We also enjoyed an evening dinner out in the backyard with the built-in fire pit. The yard is very well suited for enjoying the outdoors, surrounded by huge redwood trees with no immediate neighbors on the other side of the fence. There is also a hot tub but we opted not to use it because we knew the kids would only be happy to stay in there for the entire vacation given the opportunity. Having been to some lousy cabins, I would definitely recommend this one! We hope to come back in the future.

All of my experiences at the cabin have been perfect! My partner and I have stayed there a few times and every time was wonderful! The cabin is clean, peaceful and tastefully decorated. We felt so at home there. Whether just relaxing, sipping wine and sitting in the hot tub, or going out for a night on the town, you will thoroughly enjoy yourself. The owners, Sue and Tina are full of great ideas for places to go and things to do. There are some great places to eat close by. We have eaten at Buck's a few times, Chef Patrick's is another good one, or Garden Grill for breakfast or lunch. Karaoke is a local favorite Friday night at Buck's or Saturday night at North Wood Golf Course. So fun! The surroundings are breathtaking, walking amongst the beautiful redwoods, taking in the serene vibes and lovely scents of pure nature at its best. It is only a short distance from the river, wine tasting and the beach. We loved every second of it! We are going back as soon as possible.

Cabin De Menthe proved to be exactly what my spouse and I needed to recharge and reconnect. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed the comfort of your cabin and the great vibe it gave for relaxing. I can't decide if sitting in the hot tub, sipping wine was the best part of this weekend or the great day we spent out at the Russian River . Either way, both activities were memorable as we shared a glass of local wine and took in the beautiful tall redwoods. We appreciate your hospitality and want to thank you so much for your quick replies to my questions and your patience as we were trying to firm up exact dates, etc. The booking process was stress-free which was exactly what we needed.!! I will make sure to keep this place in mind for future mini-getaways with family or friends. Thanks Again - Natasha

This quaint cottage in the woods is just what they claim and more. The decor made it feel like a home, the owners were knowledgable and kind to give information on what to do and where to eat. The huge front windows looking out into the pines is breathtaking and sitting in the hot tub surrounded by nature was so serene. Taking a walk in the morning along the creek with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds and saying good morning to all the friendly neighbors is the perfect way to start the day. This place is really magical. There's just something about it that absorbs all of your stress and leaves you peaceful and rejuvinated and what a blessing that has been for me. I have returned to this cabin three times so far and each one has been an amazing experience. It's so conveniently located, just a few minutes from Guerneville and the river and only 15 minutes from the beach. You really couldn't ask for more. I can hardly wait until the next time. See you soon!

The owner was exceptional to work with. The cabin was very clean upon arrival. The area is so peaceful and quiet not discounting the beauty of the area. The description of the cabin was accurate. I have been there a couple of times and would always consider this cabin as my number one choice of places to stay in Guerneville. This was an excellent experience for my partner and I.

What a lovely little jewel hidden in the pine forest of Guerneville! The cabin was comfortable and clean. The neighborhood was quite and there was plenty of room for our whole family. It is a lovely area to walk along the winding river. I can't wait to spend another week there!!

We couldn't have been been happier with our stay at the green little cabin in the woods. It was quaint and comfortable, perfectly equipped for a mini vacation away from the world. My kids loved walking thru the neighborhood and I enjoyed sitting and looking out the huge front window while all nice and cozy inside. I can't wait to go back!!! Thanks for my stress-free days!

Great time in Guerneville if you are looking for a rustic rental in the redwoods. Guerneville was a quaint town, with local artists' works in the shops. We had a fantastic dinner at Chef Patricks, which served primarily a steak and seafood. The locals are a delight.

First I'll start with the good points. The cabin was nice and the location was good. It is in a relaxing setting and close to the Russian River wine country. We were able to do some hiking and bike riding and top the day off with good local wine and beer. We visit Guernville about three times per year and really like the homey feel of this small town. Now for the not so good points. The $75 cleaning fee charged by the owner doesn't cover much. We got dinged on our deposit for not taking out the trash. We used the hot tub for approximately two hours out of our entire stay but she said it needed "excessive cleaning." She also expect the guests to fill up the hot-tub if it over flows (it doesn't really fit four as described in the ad). She also said the cover was left in the lawn but I saw my wife put it back on before we left. All in all, my recommendation is if you want a nice relaxing place to stay and don't care about getting your full deposit back, this is a good place, otherwise, Guernville is heavily traveled and you have plenty of options.
Owner response:We've rented our charming home for over 6 years and this is the first individual that felt a cleaning fee was not in order. He felt a vacation rental was the same as a hotel, and that no cleaning fee should be charged at all. (Although he signed the rental contract and paid the fee in advance) Like most home rentals, the guest is requested to remove all trash from inside the house to the outside cans when they check-out. All other cleaning is provided by a housekeeper such as laundering of sheets, blankets and towels, re-making of beds, and general clean up and sanitizing of all areas of the home, including the front and back yards. Although clearly stated in the contract, they disregarded the request and left garbage in every room of the house, stating that he did not feel he should have to move it to the outside cans. Our housekeeper charged us a minimal, additional fee which was passed on to the tenant by way of a reduction of his security deposit. There were no charges to him for any other issue. We love our home in the redwoods and take pride in keeping it ultra clean for our guests. It is never our intention to retain a portion of a renters deposit. Unfortunately, this gentleman felt he shouldn't have to comply with his obligation to simply take out his trash. The extra charge was very minimal, and again, it's the first time in 6 years that we've had to do this.

I stayed here on my last visit to CA. It was so comfortable and relaxing. The surroundings were beautiful. The cabin was roomy and clean. It was well equipped and all you need to bring is food. It is close to lots of fun things to do. I will go back on my next visit to CA.

I have stayed at this property several times, and I must say I LOVE IT! It is the perfect getaway from home. My friends and I enjoy the cozy comforts of being able to sit inside around the fire, or outside in the hot tub while enjoying a glass of wine and laughing through the stories of the day. The kitchen is clean and stocked, there are three cozy bedrooms and the serenity of the redwoods is just amazing. Each time I have stayed in the cabin, the owner has been courteous and helpful...even suggesting local activities and events. I can not wait to go back...time for rest, serenity and wine tasting! Enjoy!

Dear Sue, We had a great time up at the cabin! So beautiful up there, we went hiking in the Redwood forest up Anderson Hill Rd (I believe it was) and hit up the flea market by Safeway. It was nice to have some peace and quiet.

Hi Sue, Once again we had a great time at Cabin De Menthe! Winter time is a little different, but it gave the family a chance to stay indoors, order pizza and watch a few good movies. We lucked out since it did not rain at all over the weekend. Your place is so wonderful and I really enjoy the backyard area with all the towering redwoods trees. It is so beautiful. last time we were there we actually saw a few deer in the back near the creek. We will be back this summer! Thanks again, Dena
