A Wonderful, Comfortable Cabin!

This was our first time visiting Salsa's Chalet and we will definitely go back. The cabin is extremely comfortable, well-equipped, and VERY dog friendly. The location is wonderful too, only a short walk from the lake! We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after a day of hiking and playing in the snow. Overall we loved the cabin and can't wait to visit again!

Quiet and Comfortable

We have stayed in other cabins in So. Lake Tahoe but none of them have been nearly as comfortable and dog friendly as Salsa's Chalet. The fenced-in back yard was secure and perfect for our Westie. The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood off the main drag but close to all the attractions. We really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, washer & dryer, cable TV and high-speed internet. The beds were as comfortable as ours at home. We are very much looking forward to a return trip next summer.

Loved it!

We loved staying at Salsa's Chalet. By far the best cabin I've rented. The owners have thought of everything, and it made staying there very easy, comfrortable and relaxing. We especially enjoyed laying in the hamock, BBQing in the backyard, soaking in the hot tub and lying by the fire place. While I didn't bring my pups this time around, the cabin was dog friendly and each time I saw a little touch with dogs in mind (like the treats on the counter) it made me love the place that much more. We spent our weekend hiking, biking, rafting and kyaking, but no matter what you like to do, it's close enough to everything. Before we left we were already discussing when we could all make it out again; I can't wait to return (with my pups) to Salsa's Chalet. This place is great and we LOVED it!

Better than advertised! You never know what you're going to get when booking a place online, but Salsa's Chalet was everything we hoped for and more! Everything was very clean, well organized w/ nice furniture and very comfy beds. The private backyard w/ hottub was wonderful, especially after a long day of skiing. Easy to use WiFi and great location (minutes from everything you need) made this a great place to stay. Will definately be back and would recommend to anyone.

Most Relaxing, Dog Friendly Cabin in Tahoe!!!

We have traveled to many cabins in Tahoe, but since we found Salsa's Chalet it has become the only cabin we visit! This cabin is truly dog friendly with an enclosed fence that is high enough to allow dogs free use of the back yard even during a winter with lots of snow. The cabin is beautifully maintained, well equipped, and cozy. The neighborhood is quiet and located near town but without the bustle of being on the main drag. The home is family friendly. Salsa's Chalet is the only place we will stay in Tahoe any more!

Winter Wonderland

Wonderful, rustic yet cozy cabin located on a lovely, quiet cul-de-sac within a mile of Heavenly Valley (skiing). Salsa's Cabin is within 5 minutes drive of Stateline, Nevada with it's casinos, shopping, restaurants, and Gondola. There's also a Safeway and a post office very close by the cabin. We enjoyed two wonderful restaurants on Ski-Run Blvd - about 1/2 mile from the cabin. A great lunch at the "Blue Angel" restaurant - sat on a leather couch - facing a roaring fireplace. Excellent Italian dining at "Scusa" too. Even took a sleigh ride just east of the casinos in Stateline. If you're up for a 20 minute drive - be sure to visit the beachfront Beacon Grill restaurant next to the Camp Richardson cabins on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. The Beacon has spectacular views of the entire Lake Tahoe in winter - plus outdoor dining on the beachfront deck in the summer months. If arriving in winter, I'd recommend calling the very helpful owners prior to arrival to ensure that any ice has been removed from the front deck entrance, and that the spa has been recently chlorinated. Best cabin rental price in South Lake Tahoe for holiday weeks. There's something for everyone to do nearby - skiing, shopping, brewery hopping, gambling, or just enjoying the lake and mountain views. I recommend it!

Owner response:We are happy to hear the positive feedback on our cabin. Unfortunately, ice is a factor in the winter in Tahoe. We do try to leave a bucket of ice melt and a snow shovel for our winter guests to keep the front deck entrance clear of ice. We also have a snow removal service for the driveway, but they do not clear the 10' path on the deck from the front door to the driveway. We encourage our guests to call us if they have any issues of concern at the cabin during their stay so we can try to address it at the time to make their stay more enjoyable. Unfortunately there happened to be a mix up with our hot tub service provider for this particular New Years' week which we were not made aware of until the next guests arrived. We appreciate hearing all feedback from our guests.

Thought of everything

Every little thing had been thought of here I use this site quite a bit when I travel and I felt at home here! Very well kept and close (walking distance!) to some great restaurants, Heavenly is essentially in the neighborhood. and the Lake Tahoe was just as close. The Hot tub was working and hot! Now I know that doesn't sound like much but I can't tell you how many times these places claim to have one and you get there and it doesn't work. Next time I will bring my girls (dogs) the place was very pet friendly it made me feel guilty for not bringing them!

This place is AWESOME!! From the second we walked in, we felt right at home. The cottage is adorable, well equipped with everything (dishes, blow dryer, towels, condiments, etc.), and located on a nice quite street. It was so nice to be somewhere that actually felt like home. My 2 kids loved all the toys and videos--that was a nice surprise for us all! I highly recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy themselves! We will be back again!

We had a wonderful time at Salsa's Chalet, every think was perfect : the cabin is exactly as pictured on the web, comfortable, clean, warm and cosy, very well decorated and very well-equipped. The location is very good, 5 minutes to Heavenly Sky Base, in a very quiet street. After a day skiing, we especially enjoyed relaxing in the great hot tub, among the redwoods trees under the stars. We were very sad to leave and hope we can return. We definitely recommend Salsa's Chalet to everyone wants to spend UNFORGETTABLE HOLIDAYS!!

Wow, what a great cabin! This was our first time to rent a cabin in Tahoe and the experience was wonderful. We took our two beagles with us and they were right at home from the time we walked in the door. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The living room was great and I loved the video selection. The owners really thought of everything when they stocked the cabin with books, magazines, movies, and all the other details. The location was convenient. We reached the mountain and the casinos within 5 minutes. I will definitely recommend Salsa's Chalet to anyone looking for a place to stay in South Lake Tahoe, especially if they have pets. With the care that you take of dogs and dog owners, I know Salsa is a lucky dog!!!

We stayed at Salsa's Chalet in June of this year and had the most relaxing, enjoyable vacation we have had in years. We have traveled throughout the U.S., but Lake Tahoe is our favorite vacation spot because of Salsa's Chalet. It is cozy and comfortable, providing the perfect setting to relax and "get to know" your family again. We played games, worked on puzzles, took walks, made breakfast and enjoyed the hot tub and back yard together. It's the PERFECT family get-away spot!

Wow! What a fantastic trip. Loved the cabin. The beds were sooo cozy our six year old slept in till 8!Loved the decor and the games (especially Battleship and Pictionary). The hot tub was a perfect temp and we loved the back yard. So did our dog. We walked to the meadow nearby and the coffee shop. Then, off to Kova(sp?) park, river rafting, kayaking, speed boating and shopping. I definitely recommend this cabin. I could stay there for a month!!!!

I was fortunate enough to stay in Salsa's Chalet in the beginning of 2004 and it was a wonderful visit. The cabin is located in a prime location that allows you to visit ski resorts, casinos, or if you choose to just soak up the beautiful wilderness that surrounds you. The residence is very well taken care of and the majority of the amenities that you would possibly need while on vacation are on hand in the cabin. While staying here I was able to go for gorgeous early morning jogs and come back for a great home cooked breakfast. I could not have asked for more. We were conveniently located a couple of miles from the casino so we were able to enjoy the Sacramento Kings late season push for a top seed in the playoffs. To top off the wonderful trip to this great chalet was the hot tub under the redwoods in the backyard when we got home from the casinos. What a great way to spend a relaxing evening, under the stars in the hottub. After enjoying the hottub it was nice to slip into the cabin where the wood burning stove kept us warm through the night. I would highly recommend this accomadation to any person who enjoys a peaceful vacation full of choices and all of the great services available.

We just got back from a week at Salsa's Chalet and we're still fascinated. We found this place on the web, without any previous indication, and were a bit affraid of the "makeup" of the pictures. You know what? The chalet is WAY BETTER than you can possibly imagine from the pictures in the website. It's very clean (no pet smell, at all), very well furnished and very "hommy" decorated. The location is very good: close to everything and yet extremely quiet. The best place you can possibly find to take your dog with you and feel like at your own place. Thank you Salsa for letting Hershey (our choc lab/pointer) sleep in your house. We all had a BLAST!

We stayed at Salsa's Chalet for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute. Bailey, our dog, especially enjoyed it because she was able to come with us on our vacation!!! Yeah! The cabin is very comfortable, cozy and for me nostalgic for all the summers that we stayed in cabins just like this while I was growing up. It is very close to the "hub, bub" of South Lake Tahoe, yet very quiet. I loved the front deck and every morning went out to have breakfast and read...so relaxing. Staying there was extremely convenient, the cabin has so many ammentities. I truly hope we can return!

WOW! We had a wonderful time up at Salsa's Chalet. We couldn't have picked a nicer cabin to stay in. Our 2 dogs had such a wonderful time and the back yard was completely safe and secure (we weren't afraid to leave them outside all by themselves). The cabin was exactly as pictured. We were so happy to see a list of places to take your dog off-leash - thank you! We went to the golf course 2 blocks away and our dogs had a blast - we went there every day! I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who loves their dogs - they had doggie sheets, towels, bowls and even treats. It was such a pleasure to see they treated their dogs like we do. Thank you for having such a wonderful place to stay. My parents, sister and nephews came up for one day and had a blast - your place is perfect for adults, kids and dogs. Thank you!!!

I recently had the opportunity to celebrate an early Christmas with my grown sons and my sister. The cabin was the ideal place! Close to everything you would want to do in Tahoe. Something for everyone. We happened to be there for the season's first big storm. While we didn't lose power, we did lose cable and found their video library to be impressive, finding a movie no one had seen before. Though we received a couple of feet of snow overnight, the snow removal service quickly cleared the driveway, and I had the joy of playing in this winter wonderland with my granddaughter...building a snowman in the front yard. The Salsa Chalet is simply the kind of place you would want to spend time with close friends and family!!! Very warm and cozy.
