Spectacular! That’s the only way to describe the beach at Tops’l, this condo, its amenities and its view of the Gulf and nature preserve.
This unit, Summit #505, has been rated "Platinum," ResortQuest's highest rating.
Professionally decorated, this lovely upscale 1,601 square foot unit has, three bedrooms and three baths. Located on the fifth floor of the Summit at Tops’l, one of Tennis Magazine’s top-rated tennis resorts, this condo has it all! There are two masters, each with a king bed, a balcony, and a private en suite bathroom.. The third bedroom, decorated in a "nautical" theme, has twin beds. Each bedroom has its own flat screen HDTV and DVD player, and the spacious living room has a 46" flat screen HDTV and Blue Ray DVD player. With ROKU streaming video capabilities, you can rent videos directly from Netflix and Amazon among others.
The unit was completely renovated in 2011 with new tile flooring in the kitchen, living and dining room areas and the bathrooms, plush carpets in the bedrooms, new cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, new state-of -the-art stainless steel appliances, solid surface countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, and fresh paint throughout. As part of the renovations, the owner’s closet was relocated from the kitchen area, expanding the kitchen area and creating more countertop space. The sage green gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with a built-in wine rack holding plenty of wineglasses, a toaster, a toaster oven, a waffle iron, a food processor, a programmable coffee-maker, and, best of all, a single cup Kuerig coffee maker. (In May 2012, it will also include a panini maker.) The dining area will easily seat eight if you decide to eat in to savor fresh boiled shrimp or other culinary delights of your making and enjoy a bottle of wine on your balcony. If you need a few recipes, the owners have graciously provided cookbooks.
The Master Bedroom suite has its own private balcony and is complete with a min-refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and service for two. You can wake-up early and have coffee without disturbing the other guests or waking up the kids. The Master Bath has a double vanity, walk-in shower, whirlpool tub, lighted magnifying make-up mirror, and digital scales for those who want to watch those pounds while on vacation. Unlike other three bedroom units in the Summit, the louvered doors between the Master Bedroom and the Master Bath have been replaced with a solid wall providing more privacy. The Second Master Bedroom has its own access to the main balcony, and a tub-shower combination in the bathroom plus a lighted magnifying make-up mirror. Both masters have new mattresses and in-room safes. All bathrooms have wall-mounted hair dryers and plenty of hooks for hanging towels, hats, and jackets. The third bathroom has a lighted magnifying makeup mirror as well.
Special features include designer window treatments and bedding throughout and designer accessories. Both masters and the living room have balconies overlooking a nature conservancy with fabulous Gulf views. The living room also has a fold-out queen sofa bed for extra sleeping.
.What’s more, the owners really want you to enjoy your stay. For those who can't leave the office behind, the entire unit is equipped with free wireless Internet access, and a 4-in-1 copier/fax/printer/scanner is available in the unit. On rainy days, there are plenty of board games, cards, and best-selling novels to keep you and your family and friends entertained
The unit overlooks a spacious heated pool and hot tub, but best of all, it’s a three minute walk (timed by the owners) to the most beautiful beach in North America - without crossing a road! If you don’t need all three bedrooms, this unit can also be rented as a two-bedroom, two bath unit (sleeps four to six) or as a one-bedroom, luxury bath efficiency with a king bed (sleeps two).
Amenities abound: 14 lighted clay tennis courts with daily clinics, lessons and teaching pros on site, huge fitness center with racquetball courts and an indoor pool, basketball, massage therapists, kids’ programs, a pool-side Tiki bar and café, and on-premises miniature golf course, walking and jogging trails, and easy access to phenomenal golf.
For the shoppers, you’re within a mile of the Silver Sands Outlet Mall, featuring over a hundred stores such as Polo, Viking, Michael Kors and Under Armour, and the air-conditioned resort tram service provides free transportation around the resort.
The on-site restaurant, The Ocean Club, a favorite with the locals and renowned for its food and atmosphere, features live music on the weekends and early-bird dinner specials.

All this for 10% less than ResortQuest rates. This unit is managed by ResortQuest but you can rent from the owner at significantly reduced prices! Check in on site, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This unit is covered by a maintenance contract with 24 hour immediate service. There is no need to even replace a light bulb; maintenance will take care of it for you.

Why the Owner Chose Tops'l The Summit
We love tennis, beautiful white sand beaches, clear Gulf water, fine dining, and glorious sunsets. There is no better combination of these things than at Tops’l in Destin, Florida.
Our family has been vacationing in the Destin area for years. When we decided to buy a vacation home in Florida, we looked long and hard, up and down the Gulf coast before choosing Tops’l. We liked the resort’s feel, the landscaping, the size, and the easy beach access. There are no highways to cross to get to the beach. Plus, Tops’l was more than just a high-rise building on the beach. It is a true resort community.
The tennis program is world class. It has a top ten rating in Tennis Magazine. The pros are top-notch. There are daily tennis clinics and, best of all, match-locating services. The fitness center is huge with up-to-date equipment and an indoor swimming pool which is a real asset on rainy days. There’s a full basketball court and a miniature golf course.
We wanted three bedrooms and three baths to accommodate our family plus a spectacular view. We got all that and more when we purchased Summit 505. Because the nature preserve is located next door to the Summit, there will never be buildings constructed to block the view from our balcony. We also chose the Summit because it was equal distance from the tennis/fitness center and the beach. We can walk to either without ever getting into a car! When we want to dine at the restaurants at Baytowne or Grand Boulevard (Tommy Bahama’s, Flemings, etc.) or shop at the Publix, it’s a short drive across the highway. And you never have to get in the traffic on Highway 98 in Destin.

Owner's Map of Tops'l The Summit
Mike McLaren is an attorney in Memphis, Tennessee. He practices in the areas of federal and state civil litigation, commercial litigation, vaccine law, and medical malpractice defense. A native of Joliet, Illinois, Mike received a B.A. at Yale University in 1972, where he was a three year starter in basketball. He earned his J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago in 1976. In addition to his legal career, Mike also is an actor. He has appeared in A Time to Kill, The Firm, The People v. Larry Flynt, and many other feature films.
Diane is a judge in Memphis, Tennessee, and a former Miss Teenage Memphis. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 1977 and from the University of Memphis Law School in 1980. She tried out to be in The Rainmaker but her part got cut.
Both Mike and Diane love to play tennis, ride bikes, and spend time on the beach. And they both love their Bernese Mountain dog, Jolie.

I found that the owners' descriptive blurb about this property is NOT just hype, indeed it is understated. The interior, from furniture to floor, is clean and new. The grounds of Tops'l are landscaped to a detail and the 18 clay tennis courts are well maintained. And as stated, we found guest services to be friendly and efficent. There is a nice enough swimming pool with potted plants which we eschewed in favor of the beach, with its sand so sparkly you want to trade your sun glasses for welder's goggles. The balcony view you see in this webpage is canted toward the gulf. What you see don't see is the truely spectacular view of the nature preserve. Perhaps the owners didn't include it on purpose, saving it instead for a surprise. I emphatically recommend this condo to anyone bent on some down time. Demivolt

My wife and I recently spent a long weekend at this property and highly recommend it. It is extremely clean with quality and comfortable furnishings that make you feel at home. The view from the balcony overlooking the nature conservancy and the gulf is spectacular. We love to spend our days on the beach, and the owners provide beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler that we were able to take to the beach. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, and the owners have a notebook full of menus from their favorite places to eat, so you can find the perfect place to satisfy your appetite.

This luxurious, well decorated condo with two master suites overlooking the ocean makes for a peaceful, restful vacation. You are close to wonderful restaurants, shopping, beach and tennis facilities. The condo is well appointed and equipped. The Owners have thought of everything! For those who choose to dine in, the kitchen has anything you need to prepare a meal and serve it in the beautiful dining area. We had a great time and hope to go back in the near future.

Recently myself and two of my friends spent one of the best weeks in one of the best condos in Destin, FL. The condo was spacious and luxurious. The owners did an absolutly wonderful job informing us of the local restaurants and other amenities. The condo is perfect for tennis or golf enthusiests or just right for a relaxing vacation. I absolutely reccomend this condo to everyone.

My friend and I recently stayed at this condo in Tops'l. The condo itself was very charming! The decor of the condo looked like something straight out of Horchow. It has spacious rooms and a great balcony. The location of the condo is also superb. If you are a tennis player, a shopper, golfer or just enjoy relaxing by the pool or on the beach, this is a great place for you. In addition to the outlet stores, there are numerous upscale boutiques nearby. The owners did a great job of providing a list at the condo of many of best restauraunts and shops in the area! I have and will continue to recommend that others stay in this condo on their next trip to Destin.
