We have lived in Boulder, CO since 1999 and love to spend time in the mountains.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
In winter we love to downhill ski. We catch the shuttle from Ski Hill Road and spend the day traversing the mountain from the wide open Blues on Peak 7 to the more challenging Blacks of Peak 10 and on occasion the Black diamond runs on the upper parts of Peaks 8 and 9.
We come back to the house and relax in the private hot tub before dinner. The kids love to jump out of the hot water into the snow and back again. Sometimes on a dare, sometimes just for fun!
We also head over to Carpenter Park to hit the Sledding hill at least once every season. It's the perfect length and gradient to provide an hour or two's worth of shrieks and giggles! Just keep a look out because folks come down the slope at a fast pace and are not always able to control where they end up! We usually head into town for a hot chocolate at Starbucks or even an early dinner after all the fun.
In Summer we spend the days relaxing on the patio with a book, watching the birds and other wildlife wander past. The kids spend hours riding their bikes or scooters up and down Settler's Drive with other kids in the neighborhood. The road has only local traffic so it's reasonably safe.
We go for long walks/runs on the Nordic trails and in the Cucumber Gulch Open Space ajoining the property. We have seen deer, foxes, beaver, lots of bunnies and even bear on occasion.
Occasionally we venture up to the Fun Park at Peak 8 to play putt-putt or ride the Alpine Slide, or even catch the chair lift up the mountain for a hike to the top. It's quite a hike so take water and a hat!
Dad and the kids love to fly fish so we spend a lot of time on the river that runs through the town of Breckenridge. Sometimes venturing out as far as Spinney Reservoir or to Silverthorn.
We ALWAYS manage to get in at least one round of golf on the fabulous course just outside Breckenridge. It's a favorite of ours and we love to relax on the Club patio afterwards with a cool drink and gaze at the spectacular mountain view.
