These mother-in-law style quarters are located in the back of my property. My 2 story, 17 room home historic Bennett House acts as the facade to these hidden treasures. The apartments are antique alright. Built in the late 1920's, they are slightly primitive with window unit air conditioners to keep you cool and both have numerous windows for our beautiful Florida breezes. Full kitchens with gas stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, cooking and tablewares - a small Weber grill is available outside. Lots of counter space and cupboards. Screened in sitting porches. Large closets but small bathrooms. Spacious living and bedrooms - the downstairs provides a trundle style bed for single or double sleep arrangements folding out to a king size bed. The upstairs bedding is considerably smaller with a full size bed. Both have plenty of room for an additional air mattress or a sleeping bag (not provided) Cable TV and wireless internet are now available as I continue to update and renovate.
The outside: Freshly painted, the outside of the apartments features an open covered carport for your vehicle to keep clean and cool. Guests have there own private driveway and the entire front of the property sports a 4 foot white picket fence. Enjoy a not so plush grass yard but lots of beautiful trees, plants and flowers. If you come stay through mango season - feel free to enjoy as much fresh mango as you pick. Also featured in the yard are two ornamental ponds - surrounded by North Carolina mountain rock enjoy our Koi pond or the guppy area. Guaranteed you'll enjoy the sound of fountain water or the soothing of swimming fish. In between the ponds you may meet Rose. She is a 17 inch red bearded dragon. She has a small outside wire dwelling where she likes to bask in our Florida sun. And then there are Dax and Cali, my two adorable miniature Dachshunds. Loveable and fun to hold and play with- I do ask for assistance from guests to not permit them in their rentals and to be courteous and keep the gates closed at all times when entering and leaving.
To the left and the right -on the east side is Bennett Park, named after my family it is simply spacious and ornamented with large pine trees. To the west is a small home owned by my family to which our family maintenance supervisor lives. Feel safe and sure there is always someone to assist if need be. He takes cares of the yard, the ponds, trash disposable and general maintenance.
Guests will have access to Historic Downtown Fort Pierce which hosts the weekend Farmers Market as well as all the Mainstreet attractions weekly. You'll be blocks from the venues at the famous Sunrise Theatre, our City Marina, numerous restaurants and our famous river walk.
Mere miles from our beaches. The South Beach features our St. Lucie County Historical Museum, our causeway along our intracoastal inlet for swimming and fishing, tour the Smithsonian Marine Station, visit the Pelican Yacht Club or our famous Jetty Park and of course our beaches! With lots more restaurant access and activities such as biking, walking, surfing and other water sports - South Beach is truly a big part of our Treasure Coast. The neighborhood is ornate and in full plume, yes plume. You will be delighted with more than 100 peacocks who reside two blocks away. At certain times of the day they roam to be fed by locals or you may run into a possible traffic jam at the corner of Orange Ave and 7th street as they head home to roost. The Butler's Quarters is secluded and fenced in. This location is just blocks from the Federal Courthouse and close by -our hospital, Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute as well as Indian River State College.
The general courtesy of privacy and sound/noice factor is appreciated. I will not entertain parties or loud music after 10 p.m. and I have two small dogs that would not be permitted in the units and ask the gates be maintained coming and going for their safety.
I will consider permitting a guest to bring their pets if they are potty trained /kenneled. A pet deposit would be required.
Smoking is not permitted inside the apartments but perfectly fine on the porches and outside.
I am usually always available for my guests as I am a business owner with flexible hours. I am always close by. Privacy or company is up to my guests. I will offer to do a small load of laundry for guests that are staying for a minimum of 3 days. There are no washers and dryers in the apartments for self service laundry.
There is no public transportation available near the Boston House and Butler's Quarters. Even though we are walking and biking distance (3 city blocks) from downtown a motor vehicle is recommended for travel.

About the owner: I am a fifth generation Floridian and have lived in this historic home in Fort Pierce practically my whole life. My grandfather built our home in the late twenties and I have spent my adult life maintaining and treasuring our heritage. I am in the printing business and am celebrating 20 years this year. I am a decorated member of the Pelican Yacht Club and spend my free time on the beautiful intracoastal waterway here.
