This fully furnished one-bedroom, one-bath, corner apartment was purchased from a former Argentine ambassador. It has been completely remodeled with an emphasis on style and comfort. Unique in that every room has a fabulous view.
One of the outstanding features of this spacious Buenos Aires pied-a-terre is the spectacular view of the world famous Recoleta cemetery - the final resting place of Evita Peron. A walk through these opulent, above ground monuments is a tour of the rich and famous of Argentine history. Your apartment's ninth-floor view extends beyond Recoleta to the River Plate and the distant Uruguay.
Located in the cultural center of Buenos Aires, you are surrounded by sidewalk cafes, top quality restaurants, clubs, bookstores, boutiques, parks and theatres - one block from Recoleta Village Entertainment Center, two blocks from the Buenos Aires Design Center, near the National Museum of Fine Arts. A walk across the park, which hosts the city's foremost weekly art fair, will land you on Avenida Alvear - the most celebrated, upscale, shopping area in Buenos Aires. This apartment, one of many we have stayed at in Buenos Aires, is perfect. The location is ideal, close to great sights, dining and activities, and the views from the apartment are really one of a kind. It's great to look out and see something more than traffic or another wall, the views of the Recoleta cemetery and the River Plata, the port, the part, it's great. I am not a big one for shopping, but this is a great location. We are here to work, and the set up in the living room, with space for wifi and computer, sofa, tables, and the open kind, is ideal. Valerie has been wonderfully helpful all the way along, and it was seamless getting here. I looked at both of the apartments, similar, but each with its own style, both nice. I'll be back at the end of the year with colleagues, and I plan to rent both apartments so we can be across the hall from each other and I'll know everyone will be comfortable. So nice getting here and having coffee and supplies on the shelves, I really needed that cup of coffee after the flight. Now - time to go to the market around the corner and grab an empanada!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

We stayed here in late December 2012, into January 2013. The apartment is very comfortable with a wonderful balcony. The apartment has everything you need, and there is a grocery store right next door for all your needs. The apartment and building is very clean and quiet. There is staff on hand if you need anything. Very safe and secure, in a very nice area. There are tons of restaurants, shopping, markets, parks and attractions. I would stay here every time I come here. No complaints at all. The owners, Valerie and Jim truly go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met. I very highly recommend this rental. Thank you again Valerie for a wonderful visit to Buenos Aires!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your nice review. It was a pleasure hosting you!

My partner and I stayed here for a few days in November and really enjoyed our visit. The incredible view out over the Recoleta cemetery makes you feel totally engaged with the city even when relaxing at "home" in between activities. Valerie was an excellent host, prompt to answer questions and was overall very helpful. The apartment is an easy walk to the subway, restaurants, museums and shopping. Loved how light and bright the apartment was, newly refurbished bathroom with hot water and good pressure, even super comfy bathrobes. We were very comfortable here!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your kind words and thanks for taking such good care of our place. We hope the rest of your trips was a great adventure.

My wife, daughter and I had a great stay in this modern, updated, clean and functional apartment. It is in the Recoleta section of BA and placed near so many places to see and close to so many different type of eating establishments. Our other daughter is a student there and functioned as a guide to the city. We walked and dined in our neighborhood every day and easily went to every other section of town by cab. The building is very safe and clean. The mid week cleaning service was quick and complete, and the assistance with airport transfers was much appreciated. But best of all was the rapid and helpful replies from the owner for any need. With the assistance of some partners in BA, help/assistance was only an email or local call away. I cannot be more clear : This apartment made our trip!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

There are several discos, wine bars (including on on the rooftop one building over right outside your bedroom. constant music, partying , brawls all night , every night except Mondays. During the day CONSTRUCTION starts at 8 a.m. a team of 6 men drilling and making noise all day, Saturdays including. Had to wear ear plugs at night, sometimes during the day. The apartment is cosy, well equipped kitchen, but in my view overpriced. OK for 2 people max. Having lived in BsAs for 6 months I rented a 2 bedroom apt. in Recoleta, over twice the size with office,in an excellent location and a washer and dryer for similar price. The management try to be helpful , leave a good list of restaurants etc. but can't do anything about the noise. Could not wait to leave,Recommended for: Sightseeing.

There’s a reason this property is receiving 5/5 stars from former guests. It’s the total package! This modern and impeccably clean apartment is in the upscale, safe and popular area of Recoleta. Restaurants and cafes, shopping, artesian market and access to major city bus routes (http://www.omnilineas.com/argentina/buenos-aires/city-bus/) are just outside your door. It exceeded our expectations not only for the value of your $, but also for it’s location, views and personalized attention from the owner. The manager who introduced us to the apartment, showed us how everything worked, offered advice/tips and answered all our questions. Special attention to details that included luxury linens and plush bathrobes made our 6 week stay even more enjoyable. Our morning breakfasts and evening cocktails were spent on the balcony with unobstructed views of the famous Recoleta cemetery. On clear days, we were able to see Uruguay in the distant. This rare corner apartment has large bedroom windows that catch the cool breezes and offers spectacular views. Perfect for two, but has a Murphy bed for extra guest or children. Valerie, the owner is a real sweetheart.Recommended for: Sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your kind words, very much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you again...either there...or there.

An extremely clean(cleaning service 2 times a week!), well situated unit in Recoleta. Fabulous view of the area - no high rises to block view at all. Double key security system to enter building - great for piece of mind. close to restaurants, markets, superb stores - check out Uru Leather BTW, this is probably the best unit available in this area. We cannot recommend this more highly! Everything as advertised was there in the unit and more. We would definitely use this unit again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: The best thing about having a vacation rental is all the wonderful people we've had a chance to meet, albeit rarely in person. Thanks for your kind words! We hope you come back soon!

This is a perfect place to stay in BA. We found comfort, convenience, and possibly the best views and the best location in the city. The apartment was impeccably clean and the beds and linens so very comfortable after a day of walking. We had everything we could have possibly needed. Frank and Osvaldo greeted us with a wealth of information and advice about the neighborhood and city, and were kind enough to give us a tour of their home as well. Valerie was wonderful making our rental arrangements, and we wouldn't hesitate staying here again if we're lucky enough to visit BA again. Our complements to Valerie and Jim, and our thanks for their hospitality.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

WE very much enjoyed our stay Feb. 25-March 3 in Valerie's BA apt! She certainly goes the "extra mile" to help you in preparing for the trip -always responsive to questions and provided wonderful information on Buenos Aires, Visas, etc. Her special touches were also evident in the apartment - such as PLENTY of towels, bath salts, soap, dishwashing detergent. Was so very nice not to have to run out and get those items! (Which we have had to do in other VRBO apartments.) The apartment is so very cute, filled with light and close to all in Ricoleta. Can easily walk to a whole "row" of restaurants and shops. Frank was very helpful in providing restaurant recommendations and discussing things to do and see and also what not to see. There are even plenty of late night "hot spots" close by that keep on going into the "wee hours" of the morning on the weekends which I guess is a S. American thing. Would recommend having an international phone when going to BA so you can contact Valerie or Frank if going to be late(which was our situation)- or you may have difficulty getting into the unit. Speaking Spanish is also a plus. I certainly would recommend this Apartment to any couple coming to Buenos Aires and also recommend using Mariana for tours! Thanks again for a great BA experience!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

About the owner: While I have been working off and on in Buenos Aires for more than 10 years, I brought my husband, Jim, here for the first time in 2003. Right around the time when the Euro was going up against the dollar. We were looking for a replacement for our European vacations that were costing us more and more.
Why the Owner Chose Recoleta:
We wanted to own an apartment in a major city that didn't require us to drive - a walking city, with good mass transportation or inexpensive taxis. It needed to have great architecture, style, art, music...and of course, incredible food.
We found Buenos Aires to have all this and more...and at a much lower cost than Europe. Like New York or Paris, every neighborhood is a new adventure.
We love the sidewalk cafes, the weekend art fairs, biking through the parks of Palermo. And while we always heard the steaks were great, no one ever told us about the homemade pasta...incredible.
