Our cozy log cabin, nestled in the woods of Yosemite National Park, has been enjoyed by four generations of our family. Depending on the season, there is always something special to enjoy. During the summer, don't miss the opportunity to splash in the Merced River just a few doors down from the cabin. In the fall, enjoy the color on the walking path around the golf course of the nearby historic Wawona Hotel and on the floor of Yosemity Valley. With the winter, the family-friendly Badger Pass Ski Area and the outdoor ice skating rink in Yosemite Valley is perfect for winter enthusiasts. And in spring, the waterfalls throughout the Park, including nearby Chilnualna Falls, are nothing short of awe-inspiring.
The cabin is a log cabin that can sleep up to six people. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and an attached bathroom. The guest bedroom has two double beds with a detached guest bathroom and there is a queen-sized sleeper in the great room. The kitchen is fully furnished with pots, pans, dishes, glassware and utensils. There is a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, gas range and dishwasher. The large center cooking island has seating for four and the dining table can seat eight comfortably. There is a large stone fireplace with wood provided outside. The cabin has secure Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV, a DVD player and free long distance calling within the US. The back deck is over 500 sq ft and ideal for spending time with friends or just taking in a good book. There is a gas BBQ, dining table and adirondack chairs for all to enjoy.
The cabin is located in the historic Wawona area, approximately six miles inside Yosemite's south entrance, via highway 41. It is 62 miles from the Fresno International Airport and about a four hour drive from San Francisco and five hours from Los Angeles.

The cabin is situated inside Yosemite National Park's historic Wawona area. It is 6 miles inside Yosemite's south entrance. The Fresno International Airport is 62 miles away.
The cabin is a log cabin and sleeps 6 people. There are two bedrooms and 2 baths. Bedroom #1 has a king and #2 has two double beds. There is also a queen sleeper in the Great Room. One bathroom has a tub/shower and the other has a large stall shower.
There is a large kitchen island with seating, and it is fully furnished with pots, pans, large assortment of dishes, glassware and kitchen equipment. There is secured WIFI, new flat screen TV, VCR, microwave, dishwasher, gas range toaster, coffeemaker. A fireplace (wood is provided) and long distance telephone calls are free within the US.
The South Fork of the Merced River is located just several houses down the road where you can enjoy swimming and fishing.
Pack a picnic lunch and either drive or take a shuttle to the Mariposa Grove of big trees. You can pick up the shuttle at the Wawona General Store, it leave every 1/2 hour - seasonally.
Don't miss the Pioneer History Center and covered bridge in Wawona. During the summer one can take horseback rides leaving from the old barn, and on summer weekends there are barn dances.
Spend a day at Glacier Point to view Yosemite Valley from high above. Stop on the way to take a 1/2 mile hike to Taft Point and Sentinel Dome. Also on the way to Glacier Point you will pass Badger Pass which is a wonderful family oriented ski area in the winter, featuring down hill, snow boarding and cross country skiing. Once out at Glacier Point you will enjoy a 360 degree view of the Valley and miles of the High Sierra back country. (During the winter months, Glacier Point Road is only open as far as Badger Pass due to snow)
Spend another day in beautiful Yosemite Valley (a 45 minute drive from Wawona). Stop at the famous Tunnel View Point, it is definitely worth taking a few spectacular pictures and you can also view Bridalveil Falls from that location. Once in the Valley, there is an Information Center, history museum, dining and other historic buildings. The historic Ahwahnee Hotel is well worth a walkthrough. You can enjoy the views of the spectacular granite canyon walls as you sit on the patio. Don' forget to stop and view El Capitan, the granite monolith which extends 3,000 feet from it's valley base to the summit. It is one of the world's favorite challenges for rock climbers.
Back in Wawona, you can enjoy a round of golf at the Wawona Meadows 9 hole course, across the road from the historic Wawona Hotel. You can dine at the Wawona Hotel and sit on the large front veranda and watch the sun set. (If you stay for dinner and it is dark when you leave, be sure to have a flash light with you, as it is dark and you will need it to find your car)
Another day, pack a picnic and head into the high country to Tuolumne Meadows or to Tenaya Lake. Both areas are scenic and well worth the trip. Plan on it being an entire day.
OR, you can just sit on the deck with your beverage of choice and enjoy a relaxing time with a good book.
