A great retreat for a small get-together, fishing trip, Yellowstone vacation, or corporate getaway. This 4-bedroom, 3-bath large cabin sits on two acres of heavily wooded pine trees and is located a little more than a half hour from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park where you can enjoy many outdoor activities, geological wonders, and wildlife.
Island Park has so much to offer the outdoor person including miles of groomed snowmobile, ATV, and hiking trails. The cabin is located off Yale-Kilgore Road about 7 miles west of Highway 20. Peace and serenity surround the cabin. It is about 3800 square feet--so you have lots of elbow room here--with a two-car attached garage and a hot tub on the deck surrounded by woods.
You'll see reflections of wildlife and the forest in the decor throughout Whispering Pines with all the amenities of home. Living room has views of the forest and features a massive floor to vault natural river rock gas fireplace and comfortable reclining sofas and two reclining chairs. Kitchen has an open floor plan and most cooking supplies, appliances, and dry staples in the pantry--more than you'll find in the average rental cabin. You get what you're paying for here. A variety of books, brochures, and magazines are located throughout the cabin: the local area, wildlife, recreation, condensed novels, fact books, childrens books, inspirational, poetry, history.
The main floor master suite (the "River Room") has a private entrance to the deck near the hot tub. It features a king-size log bed, private bath with a soaking tub and a separate glass shower, double sinks. Another bath with a shower (no tub) completes the main floor. Laundry facilities are also on the main floor.
The open loft balcony area on the upper level shows a view of a mountain peak and great seating looking down on the living room, the huge fireplace, and into the woods--wonderful retreat for reading, puzzles, napping, or visiting.
Bedroom two (the "Bear Room") on the upper level has a queen-size log bed and room for a crib or air-mattress sleeping space. Bedroom three (the "Moose Room"), also on the upper level, has another queen-size log bed and a queen sofa bed. Bedroom four (the "Buffalo Room"), on the upper level, has a full-size log bed and features a bonus loft with a set of twin-size log bunk beds.
The entertainment room above the garage is a large space equipped with a VCR, DVD player, satellite TV, foosball table, a full-size futon and lots of floor space for games and sleeping, an additional loft area, and two queen-size air beds. This room is equipped with a large variety of games, videos, a game system, some toys, and books for a variety of entertainment options. You can close the door of this room to isolate it leaving peace and quiet throughout the rest of the cabin.
You may spot near the property deer, owls, ptarmigans (grouse), moose, elk, fox, antelope, birds, cranes, herons, chipmunks, squirrels, bats, or possibly a bear. You may enjoy relaxing and visiting roasting hot dogs or marshmallows in the fire pit in the woods after a day of recreation and exploration.
Cell-phone service may not be available in the cabin depending on your carrier. So you can truly "get away" if you want. (Stepping outside may improve your signal.)
NO SMOKING anywhere on the property. No pets allowed.
Maximum occupancy restricted by local law to 12.

We wanted a log cabin/lodge in recreational woods near some of our favorite places: Yellowstone and the Snake River for summer getaways and winter snowmobiling.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
We love the quiet, relaxing, beautiful woods and enjoy the occasional wildlife that come around--deer sometimes in the morning and evening, moose, antelope, an occasional bear, fox, grouse (ptarmigans), chipmunks, owls. We like the large deck, fire pit and being surrounded by the trees.
