A great retreat for a small family reunion, fishing trip, Yellowstone vacation, or corporate getaway. This lodge sits on two acres of heavily wooded pine trees and is located about a half hour from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park where you can enjoy many outdoor activities and geological wonders and wildlife.
Island Park has so much to offer the outdoor person. The cabin is located off Yale-Kilgore Road about 7 miles west of Highway 20. Peace and serenity surround the lodge. It is about 3800 square feet--so you have lots of elbow room here--with a two-car garage and hot tub on the deck surrounded by woods.
The lodge is decorated in a rustic manner with all the amenities of home. We've recently added new furniture and are in the process of redecorating and upgrading. Living room has views of the forest and features a massive floor to vault natural river rock gas fireplace and comfortable reclining sofas and two reclining chairs. Kitchen has an open floor plan with wood floors and most cooking supplies, appliances, and staples. Dining area with additional folding tables and chairs available. A variety of books, brochures, and magazines are located throughout the lodge: the local area, wildlife, recreation, condensed novels, fact books, kids books, inspirational, poetry, history.
The main floor master suite has a private entrance to the deck with the hot tub. It features a king-size log pole bed, private bath with a soaking tub and a separate glass shower, double sinks. Another bath with a shower (no tub) completes the main floor. Laundry facilities are also on the main floor.
The open loft area impresses you on the upper level with a view of Sawtelle Peak and great seating looking down on the living room, the huge fireplace, and into the woods--wonderful retreat for reading or puzzles or visiting.
Bedroom two (the "Bear Room") on the upper level has a queen-size log pole bed and room for a crib or air-mattress sleeping space. Bedroom three (the "Moose Room"), also on the upper level, has another queen-size log bed and a queen sofa bed. Bedroom four (the "Buffalo Room"), on the upper level, has a full-size log pole bed and features a bonus loft with a set of twin-size log bunk beds, additionally provided are two mini twin mattresses for floor sleeping.
The recreational room above the garage is a large space equipped with an entertainment center--VCR, DVD player, satellite TV--foosball table, a full-size futon and lots of floor space for games and sleeping. An additional loft area provides a little more sleeping area with a full-size mattress on the floor. Two cots are provided, two full-size air beds, and six three-inch high-density covered pads. This room is equipped with games, videos, and books for lots of entertainment options.
Cell-phone service may not be available in the cabin depending on your carrier. So you can truly "get away" if you want. (Stepping outside may improve your signal.)
NO SMOKING anywhere on the property. No pets allowed.

We wanted a log cabin/lodge in recreational woods near some of our favorite places: Yellowstone and the Snake River for summer getaways and winter snowmobiling.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
We love the quiet, relaxing, beautiful woods and enjoy the occasional wildlife that come around--deer sometimes in the morning and evening, moose, antelope, fox, grouse (ptarmigans), chipmunks, owls. We like the large deck, fire pit and being surrounded by the trees in the hot tub.
