“Beautiful, spacious home inside and out! We are sad to be leaving. We enjoyed watching the closing day ceremonies of the Summer Olympics on our first night and then spent the rest of the week exploring the area or relaxing here: went to Manistee for a day trip; went to Frederik Meijer Sculpture Garden in Grand Rapids, and went to the Grand Rapids Whitecaps vs. Great Lakes Loons minor baseball game; took a 2-hour canoe trip and also spent some innertube time on the Pine River; read books and ate breakfast on the deck and watched the river go by; went into town (Luther) to check email at the library and to mail some postcards; wandered in the cemetrary and admired the military service of so many residents of Luther; hiked the Silver Creek Trail. Loved watching the river flow by and enjoyed waving to people as they paddled along. Thank you Mark, for your great teaching to make sure we were ready to canoe down the river—your quiz really helped jus and we put every one of your tips into action. The one that helped the most (over & over) was sticking the paddle in and pulling the water towards me when trying to avoid an obstruction! Thanks for a great week!”

“We had a great time here. Monday we went sightseeing up the coast of Lake Michigan, Tuesday we spent the day on Mackinac Island, Wednesday we hiked the Silver Creek Trail, and Thursday we went for a four hour canoe trip down the Pine River. Each night we returned to the peace and quiet of this beautiful home. Jeff finally caught a few fish our last night here. Thanks Annie for the fishing tips – it makes for a happier Jeff.”

To anyone looking for a great place to have a superb vacation, look no further! The pictures and words describing this property do not do it justice. You will be pleasantly surprised at just what a gem this place is. It's a stone throw from the Pine River, adjacent to canoe / kayak put in. Hiking trails nearbly. Immaculate newer home with comfy beds and awesome views. Great hosts... I am told that the fishing, hunting and snowmobiling are great - but we were there for the hiking and paddling. I have rented more than a few vacation homes and this is right up there with the best of them. Do not hesitate! It's the overall best value in the history of mankind!! (We had a great time!!)

“We don’t want to leave :-{ Beautiful place, beautiful view. We canoed this river together for the past 10 years and always dreamed of staying in a nice place “on” the Pine River as we canoed by. Nice & clean. We really enjoyed watching it snow out the A-frame windows :-] We’ll be back next year. This was one of the more enjoyable and relaxing vacations we have ever spent...and most of it was because of this beautiful home. The sounds of the river rushing from outside the back door, the smell of the pines plus this beautiful home with all of its inviting windows brought us together with the peace and wonder of nature. I recommend this rental to everyone. The pizza at the bar in downtown Luther was pretty decent as well.
