Gabriela and her family were the most amazing hosts. Our friends have rented many homes over the years, and this one was the most comfortable of them all! The location was amazing, on the beach, close to stores, and walking distance to the boardwalk. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could want or need. We had wonderful fire-lit. friend-filled weekend.

I've been viewing VRBO for 2 years admiring the houses. I looked at Vistamar many times in my search. It's hard to find a huge home so it won. Gabriela was very accommodating on renting for a few days vs. 7. It was absolutely incredible! The house is perfect, inside and out! I grew up in San Jose, moved 16 years ago. I was at the beach from a young age to every visit I make to CA in August. To my surprise, the house sits on a path that I and many friends, as teens, took for years heading to the beach. I didn't notice it online, just when I arrived and it put a big smile on my face. I had kids and grandkids, all the rooms were taken but yet so much space for us all. And the loft, wow, you can fit another family up there! The views are spectacular, sitting on the deck was awesome, I thoroughly enjoyed that and sat there frequently. Of course the beach is great, the boardwalk a quick walk along with the wharf. The pictures are pretty much right on BUT honestly, it feels larger in person. And there are wetsuits and more that the kids and grandkids enjoyed as the water pretty cold as we know. We lucked out and had warm weather, only one day was overcast but it wasn't cold. It's the perfect house for the beach and a large family. We all enjoyed it and loved it, only wish we could have rented it a full week vs. 4 days. The kitchen has everything you need! The bunkroom.....the game room was fun too and the swing...... I mean I can go on and on, just rent the place, I promise you won't be disappointed! I looked at the one across the street, but I'd rather pay the extra for the Vistamar! It's well worth being right there on the beach side. Gabriela is very easy to work with and very nice! I met Karen who gave me a tour, she was great too! Leave the windows open and enjoy the views and the waves crashing. Made us all wish we were back living in California! (all bedrooms have view but one...regardless, it's a vacation you won't forget) I hope I am able to do this again someday. ENJOY!

We first saw Vistamar a year ago when we were staying at a nearby house that was nice enough, but we kept thinking how nice Vistamar looked and when we got home we were please to find it on VRBO and quickly booked it. If possible, it exceeded our expectations. It fit our extended family group easily, and would have fit up to 4 adult couples and kids pretty easily. The pictures and description are accurate and the property is lovingly maintained. Rather then recommending it to friends and relatives, I'd rather keep it a secret and book it again myself. It really was that nice.

We really enjoyed our holiday at Vistamar- if felt like a home, not a rental. The furnishings, toys, games, DVDs, CDs, decorations, everything about it - we felt like we were staying at a friend's lovely home for our Mom's 75th birthday- it did not feel like a rental at all. The owner was very accommodating as well. The pictures just do not do this place justice, it has so much character and it's plenty big. Lots of space around the property as well and 2 spaces in the garage was a real help- the parking around the place is like gold dust. We hope we get a chance to stay here again.

My family and friends just returned from one of the most amazing weekends ever! The weather could not have been worse yet we had a great time. We had a bunch of kids and this house was just perfect. There are costumes, toys, kids DVD's (even a pack and play and a hair chair) in the house. I expected the view to be a bit exaggerated in the pictures and it is actually better than the pictures lead you to believe. The rooms are huge and the playroom (basement) is most sound insulated and fun for ping pong, pool and fooseball. Also, we walked to a pizza place, a coffee shop and a breakfast spot What a place - I can't recommend it enough!

We were two adults and two preschoolers and this house was amazing. Location on the beach is perfect. Walking distance to restaurants and stores was convenient. The house itself is really well taken care of and very clean. Tons of space. We used only two bedrooms. The kids loved it - one room had bunk beds, a train table and tons of toys. The outdoor shower was great. Especially liked the one for feet which was just the right level for the little ones. Gabriella was fantastic in helping to book the last minute rental and was very accommodating. I highly recommend this property!

We celebrated our parents 50th wedding anniversary at Vistamar with siblings and grandchildren and it was absolutely perfect. Without ever needing to get in a car, we were able to enjoy the beach, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, a whale watching tour from the harbor, and morning trips to the cafe for pastries and coffee. The kids especially loved the bonfires on the beach, the firepole in the kids' room, and the tree swing by the patio. The house is comfortable and well appointed with a great kitchen and patio for grilling, and lots of room to spread out. The views are sublime. The location is unbeatable. The beach is beautiful. The owner was very responsive to all my requests. I cannot not emphasize enough how wonderful Vistamar is. I look forward to the day I can rent this house again.

This is a great house for families. The kids bedroom (+ loft) was great. The house is really beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen was perfect and had room for many to join in cooking. The views of the beach were amazing. The location can't be beat - we walked to the boardwalk (about 8 min away) and down the street are a number of restaurants. It was so nice to have the beach just outside of the house. We plan to come here again!

I recently stayed at Vistamar and I found it to be everything that the listing stated it would be. The house was huge, had multiple sleeping areas and possibilities, the best equipped and stocked kitchen, close to the Boardwalk and many great restaurants/coffee shops, and probably the best on the beach location that you could ask for! The owner was very accomodating and supplied us with lots of extra information that made our visit even more enjoyable. I would recommend Visatmar to all my friends and I will go back there for another stay!

If you are planning a family reunion and want to stay at the beach, this house is a stellar find! Vista Mar means Sea View--and this house has a wraparound view from the dining room and master bedroom. The house sits on a cliff 15' above the beach, with its own stairs and walk to the sand below. With the expansive deck, lounge chairs and umbrellas, it is even better as you experience beach watching without the sunburn! The two bedrooms on the ground floor were perfect for the grandparents, giving them easy access to the kitchen, living and dining rooms, as well as the rear dining patio with barbeque. There's even an outdoor heater to soften the cooler nights. Our big "kids" loved the bunk room and the loft. There was enough separation in the house so that we all had plenty of room to amuse ourselves with the pool and foosball table in the basement, dancing in the living room, watching movies in the family room, and board games in the dining room--all at the same time! And the Boardwalk Amusement Park a mile away kept beckoning. . . The kitchen was amply stocked, I felt as though I was cooking in my sister's kitchen! (Thanks for sharing your condiments, it was easy to season the many dishes we cooked.) Although we stayed five days, we ate evey meal at the house! Our UCSC daughter begged to go to Betty's Diner for hamburgers and fries, as it was a short (5 minute walk) to "the best sweet potato fries in Santa Cruz." We appreciated the ample supply of bedding and towels, no detail was overlooked in stocking this house. Having room for two cars in the garage was a real amenitity at this beach. With the bonfire rings, the beach is popular, yet we always managed to find parking for our extra cars within a couple of blocks. If you have the opportunity to rent this house, go for it! It was a truly delightful experience for our family and guests.

Thank you so much Gabriela for the use of your beautiful home. I KNEW it was going to be wonderful but I did not expect "out of this world". We rented it with our 3 children, their spouses and 5 grandkids. The "boys" from the 5 yr. old to the 70 yr. old loved the game room. Ping pong one day pool the next. The kitchen is amazing and equipped with everything a cook could need. The dining room has a fantastic view of the beach and ocean and the sunsets are spectacular! we spent many hours in that room eating, playing cards and admiring the sunsets. We had planned to eat out at one of the fine restaurants nearby but no one wanted to go! Location, location, location! We just walked out the back gate and we were on the sand. The kids also walked back and forth to the boardwalk. When Monday rolled around NO ONE and I mean no one wanted t leave. My 5 yr. old grandson asked me to PLEASE buy it. I only wish I could!!! We will return thats for sure. Your home has such a wonderful feel to it and is steeped with history. I'm so glad I chose your home to rent for our long weekend!!!! Sandy Carson

I stayed here with my extended family during my sister-in-law's wedding and it was ideal. The house is stunningly beautiful without being fussy - the most striking ocean views of any where I have ever stayed! It easily accommodates a crowd. And it's a fun, happy house with lots of activities - rope swing, hot tub, pool table, nice kitchen, bikes. It was a dream! We can't wait to find a time to go back.

I stayed at Vistamar with my family during my sister-in-law's wedding and it was truly perfect. It's a beautiful, beautiful house without being fussy or overdone. It accommodates a large crowd comfortably and it has every thing you could think of for a fun family weekend - nicely appointed kitchen, a pool table, a tree swing, a jacuzzi. The location is also amazing: right at the beach without being right ON the beach: an easy walk to an awesome coffee shop, a couple of decent restaurants and a market; a quick walk to the boardwalk; and a short bicycle ride to Pacific Avenue. My only suggestion would be to have twin beds in one of the downstairs bedrooms rather than a double. The double bed limits that bedroom to a couple. We're looking forward to coming back and staying here again as soon as we can. It was GREAT!

Our extended family of 6 adults and 3 children have stayed here for the past 2 years now, and hope to keep doing so for years to come. The house is beautiful, the views are amazing, it is right on the beach which is great for the kids. The rental experience is very easy, and the owner is very easy to work with. You cannot go wrong with this property for a family vacation. The only problem is it is always booked, so book early!!!
