Pedestrian Only Quartier Montorgueil - Open Air Daily Market
Year Purchased: 2002
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 2
Because I support the concept of intelligent urban design, I decided to add my money where my mouth is. So I bought an apartment in what I and thousands of French people feel is the quarter in Paris that best exemplifies the future of all world class cities. Less and less cars and a return to the streets for the people.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
Relaxation! Everything you could desire is within a 6 block radius. 80+ restaurants and cafes, outdoor food market every day, great night life including some all night clubs and a Metro stop only 2 blocks away.
Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 2
I was born in Chicago but grew up in a small resort town on Lake Michigan and my wife Barbara is from Ohio. We love world class cities and reside in San Francisco where Barbara owns a greeting card store, Avant Card. I'm a general dentist in downtown SF.

We stayed in the apartment in March of 2006. The apartment was great, very, very clean, in the old historic building (wonderful wooden beams cross the ceiling). The location couldn't be better - about a minute walk from Etienne Marcel metro station, about 5 minute walk from Rue Montorgueil where you can buy some of the most delicious things you'll ever taste in your life. Louvre is 10 minutes by walk; Ile de la Cite is just as close. The apartment is perfect for a couple; additional people will have to sleep on the pull-out sofa (which was OK with us, but some people may find it uncomfortable). If we go to Paris again, this appt. will be the first on our list of possible accomodations.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 young girls) stayed here for one week over Spring Break and we were so happy in the apartment! The area of town is so central, you can walk anywhere! We ate in the restaurants close by or just went to the market and picked up what we needed for dinner. It was fun to 'live like a Parisian' just off Rue Montorgueil. Thanks so much, Bruce for working with us on our flexible dates of travel - it really made our vacation!!!!

Bruce, We felt so fortunate to have been able to stay here and you definitely have the best location for an incredible and memorable Paris experience. We are "late bloomers" in regards to traveling and your kindness as well as Sylvaine's competence made such a difference. Pearl March 2004

We immediately felt at home in the apartment which is so spacious and full of conveniences hard to find in other Paris rental apartments. We also loved the neighborhood. We expected noisy nights but we were positively surprised by how quiet and comfortable our sleep was. Very conveniently located! We like to do Paris on foot and from Rue Tiquetonne we walked everywhere. Monica and Kathleen, San Francisco March 2004

Bruce and Barbara, We love the apartment! It is so new, spacious and clean. The location is very good also. My teenage daughter has especially enjoyed the shopping nearby. Thanks very much. (The flowers, bread, wine and cheese made us feel very pampered.) Thanks to Sylvaine as well. She was great. We will return! We love Paris! Ann and Theresa June 2004

Dear Bruce and Barbara, Well, tomorrow we are on our way back to San Francisco. We had a fabulous 11 days on Tiquetonne. We have walked all over the neighborhoods of Paris, eaten in many wonderful restaurants and shopped in lovely boutiques. It is hard to put into words how much we have enjoyed staying in this terrific apartment. We love the location and have walked up and down rue Montorgeuil many times. Thank you! Sharonjean and Rick

Dear Bruce and Barbara, Staying at your apartment has greatly enhanced our Paris experience. This is the third time for me in this city and, because of your apartment, absolutely the best. After wearing out our feet each day, it's been great to have this place to come "home" to. What a difference it makes. Spaciousness, comfort, great location, even a high-speed internet connection for our Sony laptop. We hope to return here someday. Phil, Joan and Ezra April 2005

We loved the apartment and felt like we got to be part of Paris for a month. Much more so than if we had stayed in a hotel in a touristy neighborhood. We were sure a month would be enough, but we are already planning our next visit. Ann and Dean May 2006
