Casa Siesta (pun intended) is located on Calle San Jorge at the top of the hill commanding a view of the entire area.. The casa also has a purified, pressurized, water system. It is a ten minute walk to the Instituto and an additional ten minute walk into centro. It is located half block from the local bus route into centro. It is a five minute walk to a language school on Calle Orizaba.
This is our home for half of the year and we have decorated and furnished it for our comfort and enjoyment with things we have collected around the world. We like to entertain so you should be able to find anything you need and as such is not children friendly.
The maid, Elena, comes Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the afternoon. She is there from about 1:30 to 5:00. She has also been to many cooking schools and is a fantastic cook. If you would like to have her to cook for you please make separate arrangements with her. The gardner, Jose, comes on Saturdays. He is usually accompanied by his children who help. He has keys but will request entrance into the home so he can take care of the terraza and mirador. On Saturdays our friend and property manager, Javier Salazar, comes to pay them. He is also available if you have problems. Elena and Javier speak excellent English.

My husband & I stayed at Casa Knapp for 10 days in July while here for some dental work. The house is beautifully appointed with everything you need at your fingertips. It is a great neighborhood within walking distance to the Jardin, shopping & many fine restaurants. We will definitely be back when visiting San Miguel !
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

What a wonderful home away from home! This house is beautiful, comfortable, well furnished, and well located. The view from the terazza level is great and a second kitchen on that level assures that you don’t have to carry your coffee (or margarita) up the stairs. Pati and Javier take great care of you. Javier (the property manager) told me about a carnitas stand that has become my default lunch stop. The downstairs kitchen and dining area are well equipped if you decide to cook and/or entertain friends. I will be returning for my second visit this fall, and my San Miguel friends now refer to the Knapp house as “my house”.

we spent last August in Casa Siesta and we are so looking forward to our return visit this August. We stayed for a week and wished it were longer! The home makes you feel more like you are a guest of friends rather than a renter. Linda and Tom, the owners, were great and their local manager, Javier, was able and willing to help out in any 'emergency' or other needs we had. The house is close enough to the center of things to walk most places, which we did, but taxies are frequently in the area for longer trips. We're looking forward to our return!!

What a wonderful home! It is comfortable, beautiful, and well managed. The kitchen had everything a cook could need. The location is great: quiet, easy walk to Centro, bus stop half a block away. I am returning for another visit.
