Open the front door of "LaniMaui," and the view will take your breath away! This beautiful studio rental is closer to the water's edge than any other place on Maui! The seawall is only seven feet from the lanai... the view is spectacular! Sit on your private lanai and soak up the beauty of the sparkling ocean, with the islands of Moloka'i and Lana'i in the distance.
During whale season, you can watch them from your private lanai or from the inside of your condo! Enjoy incredible sunsets every evening from your own heavenly paradise. Let the sound of the surf lull you to sleep at night. Open your eyes to another glorious morning and look out at the awesome view ... You're likely to see whales (in season), kayakers, windsurfers, and turtles ... It's hard to "sleep in" here! You'll want to get up early so you don't waste a moment of your time here in paradise!
"Lani" means "heavenly," and that describes our place perfectly! "LaniMaui" offers everything you'll need to make your stay comfortable while you're here in paradise. There's a queen-size bed, along with a sofa sleeper for extra sleeping accommodations, in this studio unit. The kitchen is fully stocked with all dishes, utensils, pots and pans ... all so that you can fix your meals while gazing out at the sparkling ocean and islands in the distance. Or, use the gas grill beside the water's edge and enjoy your meal on the picnic table beside the seawall.
Conveniently located in the corner unit on the ground floor, just step outside and you're beside the sea! Kahana Beach is a great stretch of beach situated directly beside your unit ... enjoy the privacy of being in the bottom corner of the two-story building with only eight units ... and you're in the one closest to the water! Swim and snorkel right here ... there's a reef directly in front of our building. There are two grills on the property, a shared laundromat, tennis courts and two swimming pools!
Located in Kahana, on the beautiful west coast of Maui, Pohailani is conveniently located between Ka'anapali and Kapalua ... just a 10-minute drive to historic Lahaina Town. The small Kapalua airport is just a mile away, where you can catch a flight to Honolulu or another island with ease. There are several great restaurants within a short walking distance, including the world famous Roy's Restaurant, Maui Brewing Company, China Boat, Outback Restaurant ... even a McDonald's!
It's just one block to Kahana Gateway Shopping Center, where you'll find Whaler's General Store, which has some basic grocery items, beer and wine, and souvenirs, a bank, art gallery, jewelry store, coffee and ice cream shop and several other great stores and restaurants. Large grocery stores are just a few minutes' drive in either direction. Kahana is a quieter area than the busy Lahaina Town ... so nice to come home to your own quiet paradise.
But if you're in the mood for more action, just hop in your car and head south for a couple of miles and shop to your heart's content at Whaler's Village in Ka'anapali. Or go on to Lahaina and do some people-watching as you stroll along the sidewalks and enjoy the shops, art galleries and restaurants that line the streets.
"Maui no ka oi"... Maui is the best! There are so many things to do and see, it's almost impossible to do them all. You can fill your days enjoying all that Maui has to offer, and come home to "LaniMaui" ... your heavenly piece of paradise by the sea.

Aloha! We had a great time. Got to do so much! Overnight trip to Hana, drove the "goat path" up north, plenty of snorkeling on several different beaches, saw lots of whales, relaxed! We enjoyed the location and views. I found your dad's interesting and entertaining books on the shelf ... thanks! What nice neighbors! You will return to your home in Hawaii today after we leave. We hope you have a fabulous time!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful place and for being so accommodating. We enjoyed our trip and hate to go back to the frigid winter in Ohio. We got to experience the high winds that gave the local schools the day off. The waves sure pounded outside the lanai! Great fishing our first day. We had mahi mahi and tuna all week long. We had so much we had to share with the neighbors. Everyone is so friendly! Great pictures of whales right off the lanai. Thank you so much!

Aloha! Wow! What a "pleasant Hawaiian holiday" we had! Came to Maui to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary (Dec. 9) and the whole week was unforgettable. We saw one whale for sure over towards Lana'i (thanks so much for having binoculars here, Lani!). Exciting!!! We also saw several turtles and surfers from the lanai here. Love this place! We enjoyed the sunsets, Lahaina, swap meet in Kahului, drove to Haleakala for sunset(!), drove road to Hana, went to lavender farm in Kula Ali'i Kula Lavender, drove to Kihei, drove the NW Maui coast, and more! Dinner at Mama's Fish House for our anniversary. Pricey but excellent!

Words can't capture the beauty that can be experienced from your special place. Thank you for sharing this slice of heaven! To those who are patient -- whales, turtles and fish do not disappoint one's morning coffee on the lanai. Your place and suggestions for good eating and sightseeing were appreciated. Cozy set-up with everything one needs. Maui will always be a special memory as we enjoyed our honeymoon 30 years ago at the Royal Kahana. Your place made this trip back that much more special. For those not sure about hitting the road to Haleakala at 4 a.m.: Take the trip to see the sunrise. It's the views prior to the sun making its appearance that is most beautiful. The drive back in daylight is an experience not to miss. If you travel Hwy. 37 to Kula, a stop at Grandma's Coffee House is a special treat if you like local gathering places. Thanks! Mahalo!

Once again, we truly enjoyed staying in your island home. Thank you for sharing with us. It is just as nice as we remembered. It is very relaxing to just sit on the lanai, watch the ocean, waves, clouds and sunsets. Didn't do much this trip, so nothing to report to others. We hope to return again. P.S. This was the first time we ever saw Molokai with no clouds covering the top. What a beautiful island.

We loved the location! It was really a wonderful place to stay. Hearing the waves crash and watching the sunset from our lanai was great! The view, location (between Napili and Kaanapali), having the beach stuff to use, cable and internet, comfortable bed, bbq, books and games were great! ***** 5-star location!!! Moon sets just as stunning as sunsets! We were a bit concerned about not having AC ... but we slept with the lanai doors open every night (nothing to fear!) and realized we would never have heard the crashing waves otherwise. (Now our only concern is being able to sleep without the waves lulling us to sleep!!) Kapalua beach 5 minutes away great for a.m. relaxation and Kahana beach right next door for a quick dip before showering and going out to dinner ... our stay was really wonderful! Mahalao!

What a wonderful place to vacation! Peaceful ocean breezes, schools of turtles each early a.m. and afternoon -- rainbows and glorious sunsets ... our perfect engagement location!! We enjoyed the splendor of Maui in scuba, meeting new friends along the way. Road to Hana a MUST DO! Sunsets and snorkel at Kapalua Bay ... Iao Valley St. Park ... drive the coastline of West Maui and hike! We loved seeing the Java Sparrows & Red Crested Cardinals! Much love!
