This is why we are so committed to providing as relaxing accommodations as possible while at the same time keeping our rental fees as reasonable as possible. A 10% discount is available for early weekly summer reservations, and return guests and active military personnel always receive an additional 5% discount on weekly reservations! We simply don't believe there is a better value on the island for your hard earned dollars, and we are absolutely committed to doing all we can to help you plan and enjoy your BHI experience!
Your ultimate vacation begins as soon as you board the ferry for Bald Head Island at Southport's new ferry facilities! Now it's time to kick back and relax! The 20-minute ferry ride to the island fills you with the anticipation of knowing that for the next week or so, you're on "Turtle Time"! For those of you who've been there - you know what we're talking about. For you first-timers, it's nothing like you've experienced before!
Nature abounds around our comfortable, fully-furnished, 3-bedroom, 2-bath cottage home. Nestled in the maritime forest, amid the ancient live oaks and sabal palm trees, this charming family home is surrounded by deck, with a screened-in crofter/porch attached. Our delightful cottage also features a garage, with a (6) six-person golf cart provided. Tooling around on the island in the cart is half the fun of getting to your island destination! The decor and numerous amenities, including featherbed toppers, add to its charm, comfort, and ambiance. It's the perfect setting for your family vacation - including your well-behaved dog! Enjoy the hustle and bustle of all the island has to offer during the day -- swimming, golf, tennis, kayaking, biking and hiking -- it's always nicer to return to your home in the quiet, secluded forest for a relaxing evening.
Centrally located at 122 Edward Teach Wynd, our home is just minutes away from the harbor area, "Old Baldy", the chapel, creek access, golf course, both clubs and conveniently located near the Maritime Market, hardware store, recently opened spa and gift shops. It's less than a 3-minute golf cart ride to the beach! If you're into golf, tennis, or croquet, or just prefer lounging by the pool with a good book, temporary memberships at both the Bald Head Island Club and the Shoals Club are available to purchase for your use and enjoyment. You decide where you want to go, when you want to go and for how long. Our memberships at both clubs provide you with the flexibility your family seeks in planning your ultimate vacation. Why the Owner Chose Bald Head Island
We immediately fell in love with Bald Head Island when we started vacationing there in 1999. Although we enjoy the beach, we were particularly taken with the maritime forest environment. The stars aligned in 2005 when we were able to purchase our home. Since then, it's been a "labor of love", and we're always attempting to make improvements to our little cottage in the forest for all to enjoy.
The Unique Benefits at this Home
We enjoy all the activities the island has to offer during the day, but we particularly appreciate being able to return to our home in the quiet, secluded forest for the evening. It really is the perfect size for a family vacation. When we're joined by family and friends, it truly is "Mears Merritime"!
