My family and I spent a week at the Christmas Cottage and had a wonderful time. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The weather was beautiful! There was plenty of room for the 6 of us (4 adults, 2 children). The house was clean and had everything you would need. The location was ideal, on the beautiful Connecticut River, and the views of the Vermont countryside and rows of Christmas tress from the cottage was picture perfect. My daughter had the best time fishing with her granddad off their pier, and canoeing with dad on the river. The owners Sandra & Peter, were really great, making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you so much!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.

I took my wife, two small kids and mom here for the week and all of us, all ages, really found something to love. It's been newly redone and we were only the third guests to stay since the new addition was added on. It's a very relaxed, comfortable, open layout that suited us very well. The kids loved chasing the chickens and getting up close to the alpacas and goats. We also went tubing, fishing and canoeing on the adjacent Connecticut River and had a blast. But for us the highlight was probably our son learning to ride a bike without training wheels. The street and property are so quiet and open he had plenty of room to practice his new skill, which he mastered on an old bike we found in the barn. The owner, Peter, who is the consummate gentlemen and very helpful with tips about activities, insisted we take the bike home with us as a remembrance of that moment. Although the farm really feels "away from it all," there are a lot of fun things to do within an hour's drive from here. The kids loved the Montshire Museum of science, which is made for children and extremely well done. We also visited Hanover, home of Dartmouth, Woodstock, home of Billings Farm, and hiked down to Quichee Gorge which I'd highly recommend. All in all, a great and unique experience. We wanted a relaxing week somewhere rustic, and we got it. You'll enjoy this place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hi, my name is Lacey I am 12 years old and I live in NJ. I enjoyed my stay at the cottage very much. The house was very cute, it has one full bed, a couch that has a pullout bed so two people can sleep. The cutest little kitchen, a nice size bathroom, and a flat screen TV. There is a little house next to the cottage that Peter built with a little porch. Inside there is a couch, TV, and a ladder to go up to the small loft where there are two twin beds. It would have been fun to stay in there. Also they have different kinds of animals that you can feed and pet, I really enjoyed that. I even got a chicken named after me, now how cool is that! The main owner’s house on the property was built in the late 1700’s and was owned by Lewis R, Morris that’s where Peter and Sandra live. They where nice enough to give me a tour and tell me about the history about the house. They where very nice, and helpful with information on things to do and places to visit. One of my favorite things was getting a great cup of hot coco, ask them about that. I really enjoyed my stay, and maybe we’ll get to come back. I hope the next tenants enjoy their stay also. :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome in the cottage. Our hosts, Peter and Sandra, had already provided everything to make us comfortable and at ease. The facilities were exactly as described, but there were also thoughtfully provided extras to add the personal touch. The area offers many opportunities for a wide range of daytime activities, as most other reviewers indicate. It also provides for those keen on astronomy: nighttime light pollution is very low in this part of the valley. We had an excellent week.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Dear Peter and Sandra, Please accept our apologies for the lateness of this note. We have savored and shared our fond memories of our visit with you every day since we departed. From the moment we arrived at the farm we felt as if we were honored guest that you had known for a long. We never sensed that we were viewed as outsiders, but rather as part of the family. Our every request was acted upon immediately. As a matter of fact you two, Charles and Tim seemed to continually be looking for ways to make our stay more pleasant without any request from us. Your generous hospitality was overwhelming!Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

My vacation at Christmas Trees of Vermont was wonderful in every respect. All of my needs were immediately met by the gracious Mollica family. The setting is perfect for a Vermont getaway as I was surrounded by 1000's of Fraser fir trees & an orchard with apples, plums and pears. The friendly goats Jingle and Bell as well as the chickens added a special touch of the country life to my stay. Being accross the road from the Connecticut River was a bonus. Staying at the adorable Christmas Cottage is like walking back into history as it is furnished with lovely antiques. Everything was immpeccably clean and I would highly vacationing at CT of V for an authentic back to nature Vermont experience.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We loved our week at the Christmas Cottage. It was perfect for the two of us. The cottage is quite small and would probably be uncomfortable for more than a couple. We loved roaming around the farm, feeding the roosters every evening, and drifting on the Connecticut River on the farm's canoe. Peter and Sandra are wonderful hosts who did everything possible to make us feel right at home!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our stay in the Christmas Cottage was wonderful. Our family included myself, my grown daughter, my 81 year old mom, and our dog. The cottage suited all of us beautifully. The foliage, views, and hospitality was spectacular. It was quiet, close enough to drive to other towns. Even a shopping trip for my daughter to Manchester outlets was only 45 minutes away. My mom enjoyed feeding the chickens. There were many craft fairs going on in neighboring towns that we visited. The Connecticut River Valley was just gorgeous. And Peter gave us a wonderful tour of his historic home. The house was lucky to get Peter and Sandra as homeowners, as they have restored it magnificently. I hate to tell too many people about this special place, because we surely want to return again soon. Maybe even venture up to pick out that special Christmas tree that my mom has her eye on!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We just came back from 1 week of the most RELAXING vacation I've ever had. I loved the Christmas Cottage. Peter and Sandra are wonderful "innkeepers." The mountains and rows of Christmas trees are spectular. We would sit on the front porch with our morning coffee or in the evening taking in the sunrise and sunsets. The cottage itself was cozy and comfortable, made you feel right at HOME. Peter would stop by and give us some insight on the surrounding areas and wonderful restaurants to enjoy. We took him up on ALL his suggestions and was not disappointed. If you have a stressful job, as I do, or you just need to RELAX, this is definitely the place to come too. Peter and Sandra THANK YOU for a wonderful vacation and you can bet you will see Ralph and I back again. BarbaraDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Breathtaking is all I can say about the view from the cottage! Words and pictures cannot describe nor capture the beauty of this river valley. The cottage was comfortable with a lovely porch to sit on and enjoy the view. Sandra and Peter gave us a warm welcome and made us feel right at home. Peter gave us a tour of the property and suggested excellent restaurants and sights to visit. There was plenty to do. We followed up on Peter's suggestions and we were glad we did. We stayed for 1 week and were busy from 10:00AM to 5:00 PM almost every day. The last 2 days we made a point of slowing down so we could enjoy the farm. This is a great place to stay if you want some peace and quiet. This is a great place to stay if you want to be adventurous and go hiking and sightseeing. We'll be back for a combination of both.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have just returned from a 7 day stay at The Christmas Cottage. We had a fantastic time. The boys got out of our car and found a toad that they just had a blast following around the farm. The scenery is amazing. What a beautiful and peacefull setting! Peter and Sandra are wonderful hosts. My husband enjoyed sitting on the dock and fishing; he caught 2 beautiful Bass. The boys enjoyed the freedom of biking without cars. I personally loved the front porch - what a view!!! Not only was this a comfy and cozy cottage, but it was a wonderful location. We were close to many of the places that we enjoy visiting in the area - Montshire, Queeche Gorge, Long Trail, Dartmouth... We also really enjoyed learning about the history of the main home on the property. We are really looking forward to going back. Thanks to Peter and Sandra for everything!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have just come back from a two and a half week stay at the Christmas Cottage. It was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. There were so many things to do and see without ever leaving the farm. Our 5 year old daughter enjoyed the nesting birds, a visit from a frog while we were in the pool and, her favorite, the fireflies. We greatly appreciated Peter and Sandra opening their home for a personal tour! The Mollica's went out of their way to see we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Our time at The Christmas Cottage created memories we will always treasure!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We just came back from a wonderful long weekend. We stayed in the Christmas Cottage. It was so peaceful & relaxing. It was a great place to call home base as we explored Vermont. The cottage was immaculate, roomy and airy. The shower had lots of hot water & great water pressure. The bed was comfy with extra feather pillows. The large front porch was a great place for us to play cribbage and drink wine from a local winery as we listened to the multitudes of different birds calling from the trees. We were even privileged to have the opportunity to see the nest of an endangered peregrine falcon nest. Sandra & Peter were charming as hosts. Peter was very patient as I asked my many questions about the Christmas tree farm. We had never seen so many perfect looking trees! We can't wait until we go back in the fall. This time I'm bringing a bird book!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

" I wanted to thank you for our evening in your home. We had so enjoyed our trip to the beautiful state of Vermont. Our last evening was so much nicer because of your hospitality. We both were thrilled to see your gorgeous home & listening to the history was an added treat. Desset was exceptional and my gift of VT cards was so thoughtful. I just want you to know we will always remember your little extras. We will see you again in a few years."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
