Located on the sunny Westside of Kauai this cottage offers you and your family an opportunity to experience Hawaiian life away from the crowded tourist areas. Kekaha is "Hawaii of Old", with a slow pace atmosphere, friendly people, beautiful beaches, magnificent views and year round sunshine.
Hale Nalu "The Surf House" is located just off the main highway that leads to world famous Polihale Beach. This cottage is a two minute walk to a wonderful walking beach, and a five minute drive to the beginning of a 12 mile long white sand beach which is known as the longest continuous beach in Hawaii.
This beach offers surfing, bodysurfing, swimming, and secluded sunbathing areas perfect for long walks, beach barbecues, and wonderfully romantic sunset views.
If you get tired of the beach, Waimea Town is three miles away where there are quaint little stores and shops, restaurants, and a newly refurbished Theater that shows one show each night.
After you have seen Waimea, you can start the drive up the mountain to view Waimea Canyon, often called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.
Once you reach Kokee you can visit the museum, have lunch at the Kokee Lodge, or continue your drive to the Kalalau lookout where you can look down the spectacular Kalalau Valley to the remote Napali Coast.
Does this sound like the kind of vacation you had in mind? Hawaii away from the tourist scene, serene, sunny, and laid back? Then West Kauai is the place for you.
