February 24-26 2012 Our family just got home from spending the weekend at Sugar Meadows Retreat in Banner Elk. This will be our new family getaway! The pictures of the cabin do not do it justice....it is breath taking and the views are amazing! The cabin is secluded and private but sits right in the middle of Banner Elk and is super convent to EVERYTHING! There is a wide variety of snow activities to enjoy and they are all within minutes from the cabin! Can't wait to go back in the summer to see what the views are like then!

Beautiful Cabin Great Location

This was the first vacation in years and our son had never seen snow. What a perfect place to stay. The location is wonderful as well as the view and close to everything we needed. We were lucky the day we showed up it snowed like crazy. The rest of the stay was meant for skiing. A day at the slopes and then home to sit in front of the fire place and just relax. Sherry and Tom you are lucky to have a little piece of heaven you can go to when you want. You can be sure we will be back again and again. Thank you for every thing.

We just spent two weeks at the cabin. Loved it! It lived up to its billing. It would be hard to replicate morning coffee sitting on the proch watching the sun rise over Beech mountain. Priceless. Sherry and Tom...thanks for sharing your wonderul mountain retreat with us. Also, appreciate the fact your fees are nice and straightforward. Hope to return next summer. This spot was the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of an usually busy summer as well as from the three digit heat in Columbia, SC I in particular enjoyed the decorator touches and the cabin itself, tot to mention the lovewly hill site and gorgeous views all contributed to a most pleasent visit! We also really enjoyed the walk-in closet and sizable master bath. Thank you for making this available for our once-a-yr pilgrimage to the mountains. We loved it!!!

Your cabin is wonderful and we are so appreciative of you letting us stay here! The location is PERFECT! We most enjoyed the patio and the firreplace even though it was quite warm. We immediately felt like it was home and enjoyed every minute. My husband says you have the most comfortable couches and bed he has ever used! Thanks again, we hope to return soon!

Sherry, Just wanted to say thanks for the use of your mountain home. We had a very relaxing weekend and enjoyed everything - including the sudden snow storm on Sunday which provided 3 inches of fresh snow. Hope that Dinah found the house to be left as we found it. This was our anual trip to the Mts to cut a Christmas Tree. Wer have an addition to the family....an 11 month old puppy and Isa loved running up and down the hill and walkjing with us up to the top of the mt. Sat we awoke to snow and it continued all day with about a 5" accumulation, We loved the cabin and the vbiews! Built a fire every day, listened to the James Taylor Christmas CD, and enjoyed breakfast by the fire. Plan to return soon. Thanks for having us and being pet friendly!

We love your cabin and we are grateful that we can come up and enjoy it and the mts. even for a short weekend. We have to head back today and none of us wants to leave, but we will be back in Nov for another ASU game, more hiking adventures and a longer stay. We can't wait! What a wonderful respite from our hectic lives! We loved spending our 1st Thanksgiving in your cozy cabin. We had snow Thanksgiving Day & everything was so beautiful. The temps dropped to 25 and they opened Sugar for skiing. Our son was estatic!! We built a fire every night and just relaxed and stuffed ourselves w/ leftovers! Thanks for a memorable trip and for providing such a homey, comfortable cabin. We loved it!

This was our 2nd trip to your cabin. We had chilly weather for two days and enjoyed hiking and attending the 2009 Wooly Worm Festival. The beautiful fall colors were outstanding! On our last morning we were suprised to wake up to 2" of snow abd sad to have to leave! Hope to return next fall.

The pictures do not do this beautiful cabin justice. It had all the ammenities of home and more. We were fortunate that the weather cooperated and we had two fun days of sledding right in the back yard. With chains we were easily able to go back down the hillside to a fun day of skiing nearby as well. We will definitely be back to enjoy the peacefulness, beauty and hominess of the lovely cabin.

Our property is newly listed on this site, so we don't have guests comments in this section yet. We have rented our house for 4-1/2 years and over 90% are "repeat customers" who not only continue to spend their vacations in our home, but also refer their friends and family.
