  Nancy, thanks for allowing us to make such good memories at "The Great Escape". Your home was so lovely - I loved the arrangement where the family could enjoy the togetherness and yet do their own thing. The kids loved the pool while the adults enjoyed cooking out on the covered porch or relaxing on the front porch reading a book. The location of the home is great, close enough to the beach that the children can walk there safely and also close to some great resturants and shopping. With pictures of your lovely family sitting around, it made for such a friendly environment that you felt like you were visiting relatives. We'll definitely return to the "Great Escape". Maybe next time, I can bring my great-great grandchildren along with my 5 greats.

  This is our second time staying is this charming house. We stayed one week and all I can say is I did not want to go back home. Clean, inviting,everything you could want this house has it. The beach is a block and half away easy walk. Nancy is so easy to work with and quick to respond. The jasime out back was heavenly. Our dog loved the grass area out back and no steps to climb. We will be back soon.

  The Great Escape was all we wanted and more to just chill out and relax. The cottage was clean, well-supplied and the location was ideal!! The owner was a gem to work with and anwsered all our questions and concerns. Charter boat fishing headed the top of my husband's list along with pontoon rides and eating at Dewey Destins! We were dragging our feet when it came time to leave the Great Escape but we will be back!!

• Very Homey!

  We spent our Christmas break here with my 20 year old daughter and a friend. It was a wonderful experience! The owner and manager are great to work with and very helpful. The home is in a perfect location. You don't have to drive anywhere. Spend the day on the beach and walk to the little cafe to grab a bite. Or if you want to shop, you are also within walking distance to strip malls and Destin Commons. We will definitely think about visiting again. The pool is not very big, but it is refreshing to have there to jump in. It was wonderful being able to take our little dogs with us also!

  Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

  The home was clean, well maintained, and nicely stocked with kitchen appliances, dishes, and tools. There is a good gas grill in the pool area. The pool is a very small but well maintained, patio furniture is abundant and GREAT PRIVACY (unmatched)!!! We slept nicely and rose each day to prepare breakfast , walk on the beach, and enjoy the pool/grill. It was a great place to escape to for total privacy and located perfectly close to beach and local amenities (restaurants/grocery/shopping). We went for a long needed second honeymoon . The best part was that we were able to bring our little bichon frise playmate with us. Perfection.

  Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

  Our trip to Destin couldn't have been better! The house was much larger than pictured and was very well maintained both inside and out. Such a cute place! The location was perfect! It's situated roughly 1 1/2 - blocks off the ocean wich is perfect walking distance for anyone. The owners were wonderful about answering any questions and the property manager called and visited with us to make sure everything was running smoothly. Overall, our experience was very good and we'd love to go back and stay there again! We'd recommend to anyone and give it 5 stars!

  Clean, comfortable, convenient to everything. A great house for families with small children. We loved the privacy of the back yard and pool area and found that the house was relatively sound proof, allowing us to have our 9 month old asleep in the master bedroom while playing in the pool with the excited 2 year old. We found the enclosed outside shower to be very useful in allowing us to rinse off and not bring wet and sandy swimsuits into the house. There were a lot of pool and beach toys available for our use. Two beach entrances were a short walk away -- one with a shower and one with a shower, bathrooms, and covered picnic area. We enjoyed having our coffee on the front porch, feeling the morning sun and cool gulf breezes. We loved our time at The Great Escape and hated to leave. We would definitely stay here again!

  My husband and I stayed a week in this house. We felt right at home from the moment we stepped inside. Nicely furnished, casual and comfy. Pool was small but we enjoyed it especially at the end of a day at the beach which was only a short walk away. Rained the first two days but after that we had perfect weather and really wanted to stay longer. Nany was easy to work with and Brent was helpful when we arrived with the keys and offering suggestions of good places to eat. We will be back next summer for sure. thanks for sharing your home with us and our pet ... It was our best vacation ever.

  Thank you Nancy for our enjoyable stay - (5 weeks in total) in your cute house. The spacious main living area with the high vaulted ceiling and the natural light from the windows was great. All the furniture was very comfortable, and we thought that the decor was so inkeeping with the "beachy theme". The close proximity to all the shopping - Destin Commons, Silver Sands Outlet stores, Rave movie theatre and so many excellent restaurants, and that beautiful gulf/beach so close with its incredible white sand all made the location of your house the best in Destin. We would certainly like to return again, hopefully next year.

  Thank you so much for letting our family stay here for spring break. This was our first family vacation with our four small boys (7,4, and 22mo twins). The house could not have been more perfect for us. The older boys were so excited to have the double set of bunk beds in their room, and the twins pack n plays fit nicely in the third bedroom. Everyone had their own space and that is really important for nap time! :) The pool was also a really nice addition, when it was nap time for the little boys the older boys got to swim and have mom and dad's full attention. Location of the home was also perfect, so close to the beach and shopping! On our last day we found out that it was snowing in Indiana and our oldest son asked if we could just stay at the beach house for another week...We would recommend this house to anyone, and will be back next year! Thanks again!
