Thank you Nancy for our enjoyable stay - (5 weeks in total) in your cute house. The spacious main living area with the high vaulted ceiling and the natural light from the windows was great. All the furniture was very comfortable, and we thought that the decor was so inkeeping with the "beachy theme". The close proximity to all the shopping - Destin Commons, Silver Sands Outlet stores, Rave movie theatre and so many excellent restaurants, and that beautiful gulf/beach so close with its incredible white sand all made the location of your house the best in Destin. We would certainly like to return again, hopefully next year.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The Great Family Getaway!!

Thank you so much for letting our family stay here for spring break. This was our first family vacation with our four small boys (7,4, and 22mo twins). The house could not have been more perfect for us. The older boys were so excited to have the double set of bunk beds in their room, and the twins pack n plays fit nicely in the third bedroom. Everyone had their own space and that is really important for nap time! :) The pool was also a really nice addition, when it was nap time for the little boys the older boys got to swim and have mom and dad's full attention. Location of the home was also perfect, so close to the beach and shopping! On our last day we found out that it was snowing in Indiana and our oldest son asked if we could just stay at the beach house for another week...We would recommend this house to anyone, and will be back next year! Thanks again!

We really enjoyed our week at The Great Escape. This lovely home is just one block from the beach and just one block from everything in the heart of Destin. You are in the middle of both. We relaxed many nights by the pool and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I loved this cozy home. Thanks Nancy for letting us spend our week at The Great Escape.

Relaxing place to vacation!

The Great Escape is a wonderful place to get away from it all. An easy walk to the beautiful beach is a huge plus but having your own private pool to enjoy when you don't want to deal with a bunch of strangers is so relaxing. Grilling fresh fish and sipping cocktails by the pool.....a very peacful vacation! We will definitely be back to this enjoy your charming home.

We stayed at The Great Escape from June 3rd until June 6th, we absolutely loved your home! We felt so comfortable. We really enjoyed the private pool and the short walk to the beach. The location is great, so convenient to everything. Thanks for sharing your home at the beach! We hope to visit again soon!

This house was GREAT. We have always stayed at hotels or resorts before but wanted to do something different so after looking picked this cute looking house with great comments from others that stayed. We have 4 young children so we packed alot of beach toys and stuff that normally bring. When we arrived the house was clean, very nicely set up and perfect. My wife has requested building a house with the same floor plan. The kids loved the pool and beach toys already at the house. If anyone out there is looking at this house to rent... YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. We will be back to stay again. Thanks to Nacey who made it very easy to plan and make the arrangements easy and quick. One more time WE LOVED THE HOUSE. Have fun everyone.

Nancy, thanks for allowing us to make such good memories at "The Great Escape". Your home was so lovely - I loved the arrangement where the family could enjoy the togetherness and yet do their own thing. The kids loved the pool while the adults enjoyed cooking out on the covered porch or relaxing on the front porch reading a book. The location of the home is great, close enough to the beach that the children can walk there safely and also close to some great resturants and shopping. With pictures of your lovely family sitting around, it made for such a friendly environment that you felt like you were visiting relatives. We'll definitely return to the "Great Escape". Maybe next time, I can bring my great-great grandchildren along with my 5 greats.

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your home! As you know, we were a bit concerned about not being “right on the water.” But the tradeoff was your wonderful pool – and those super chaise lounges you bought (thank you)! We had a great time bouncing back and forth between the beach (whichever one we chose to visit each day) and the pool. Your house is beautiful --- so comfortable and inviting. I felt really relaxed and at home there, and we had perfect weather. We can't wait to return!

This may sound a little crazy ... but our family's hectic day-to-day life usually finds us running on various schedules and making sitting down for a meal together a rare treat. I get teased because I always take my own electric skillet, etc. along on vacation because most rental units are equipped with mix-matched pans, lids, etc. What a treat to actually have a nice selection of cookware! We felt reunited and relaxed. We're looking forward to our trip back in 2007!

This home is absolutely wonderful! Our family has stayed at the Great Escape on two occasions and each time found it to be very clean and comfortable, and with every amenity you could ask for. The private pool is wonderful, and the home is located very close to the beach. Also close to many great restaurants. I would absolutely recommend this vacation home to anyone visiting Destin!

We had a wonderful time at The Great Escape. It was really a relaxing "home away from home'. The pool was terrific, the location was close to everything, and the hosue had pretty much all the amenities we needed. The only suggestion I would make is having internet access more easily available (I know, I'm not supposed to check e-mail on vacation).

This is a wonderful, wonderful house for anyone with children. The convenience of the pool cannot be measured. My children would immediately change into their swimsuits and go jump in the pool. It is small upon initial viewing, but is actually much larger than it appears. The house is centrally located to everything Destin offers and the walk to the beach is not too long. We had tons of room and all the extra amenities were so very nice. We will be return renters. Thanks so much, Nancy!

What a great home away from home! This was our second visit to the Great Escape and although we were caught up in the "evacuation" due to Hurricane Dennis, everything about our stay was terrific. Great shopping and amenities nearby, the beach is two blocks away, the neighborhhod is quiet, the house is well-appointed and equipped...what else could we ask for? Although the pool is small, it's great for a lounging if you don't feel like going to the beach. Nancy was great to work with and I'm sure we will return in the future. Bruce and Susan Lowman

Our week spent at the Great Escape was a most restful and pleasurable experience. Your home is most inviting and is well located to provide the best Destin, and the surrounding area, has to offer. Peaceful late evenings in the pool are a perfect way to close a day of shopping, fine food, or even a lazy day at the beach. A very well maintained, stylish home that provides everything it promises.

What a fabulous vacation home. You never know what you're going to get until you get there -- so difficult to judge by a photo -- but this home and location was fabulous. It is located close enough to the retail -- and the beach access was so easy. The condition of the home and pool was great. Everything you could possibly need was made available to enjoy a home away from home. I highly recommend visiting the Great Escape.

This is an awesome vacation house. My family was there in Sept. and due to Ivan we had to leave early, but the house was perfect for us ( 4 adults and an 18 month old baby.) The walk to the beach was a nice stroll, and the neighborhood is very nice. We will be going back to Destin and to the Great Escape. I couldn't have asked for a nicer person to deal with than Nancy,as she answered all my questions in a very timely manner. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful home.

What a true "Great Escape" it was! We LOVED staying at this property (actually i would call this one a home)!!!!!! Its location is fabulous- so close to SO much- especially the beach, restaurants and shopping. We couldnt have asked for a better rental property. Everything we needed was right at our fingertips right down measuring cups! Thank you for making our vacation so easy and relaxing with such a warm, welcoming home. We will definitly be back to Destin and booking "The Great Escape".
