Only a mile from downtown Gatlinburg, off Ski Mountain Road, Bear Creek Lodge is truly a retreat, with a 19 foot outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tub that are creekside, off the deck of this 12-bedroom log sided cabin-5000 square feet, that sleeps up to 56 people.
Listen to the gurgling creek from every room in the chalet. The kids will love catching salamanders and skipping stones or playing on the outdoor fort or swingset. You can picnic by the creek, or relax on the deck that features a charcoal grill, a large smoker, patio furniture, and a tiki bar that opens out to a large hot tub that will seat 6 and a 19 foot heated pool. And you can enjoy the gurgling creek or watch the skytram overhead from the large hot tub or 19 foot heated pool.
Inside are two game rooms with a new log pool table, air hockey table, foosball table, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 64, and games, kiddie toys, plus movies and DVDs for all ages.
Bear Creek Lodge has been newly remodeled, with lots of wood interior, new paint, bedspreads, furniture and accessories, all with a different theme to remind you that you are in the heart of the Smokies. There are two levels with 3 front entrances, with the windows of two entrance having handpainted scenes depicting Smoky Mountain adventures and custom carved patio doors with bear, deer and racoon scenes.
There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor and 9 bedrooms on the second floor and a total of 8 baths and 2 half baths. The first entrance takes you through carved patio doors into a queen bedroom with a TV and decorated in an "Elk" theme with new log and bark furniture and a leather and tapestry moose/elk bedspread. A full bath with a jacuzzi and a stacked washer/dryer is located across the hall and behind the kitchen.
The second entrance is from a covered parking area and takes you into a logsided interior foyer, with beautifully framed pictures and accessories in a "Gone Fishing" theme. There are two customa made queen "Gone Fishing" bedrooms, each with handmade gone fishing bedspreads, wood blinds and fishing rod curtains, TV. Both bedrooms are served by the gone fishing full bathroom with shower.
To the left of the foyer is the two story A framed living room with antler chandelier and hand hewn log railed steps to the second floor. The living room has two gone fishing sofa sleepers, hand painted frosted windows with Smoky Mountain themes, log furniture with gone fishing wallpaper, lamps and accessories.
The living room has custom carved patio doors that go out to the deck and also opens up into the log sided kitchen and 30 x14 dining room and a second kitchen. You'll find lots of fishing collectibles, lures, fishing bears, fishing poles and lamps, and custom pictures. Two log rockers, a stone fireplace, two bark tables, and a big screen TV with VCR/DVD player complete the living room. A second story balcony overlooks the living room.
The kitchen opens up into two bars with 8 bar stools and a 14x30 dining area with 3 large hand made log tables seating 8-12 each, plus a high chair. There are two kitchens, each with a stove, a refrigerator, and two microwaves. The kitchenette in the dining room opens out to the deck with a tiki bar, hot tub and patio area that steps down into a 19 foot heated pool.
The dining room opens into the new 14x32 tung and groove game room with a new log pool table (regulation size), various kiddie toys, a sofa sleeper and chair, and half bath. Upstairs from the new game room are two tung and groove bedrooms with cathedral ceilings. The "Gone Camping" room has two queen bunk beds that sleep 8, a TV, and a full bath with a jacuzzi. Next to it is the "Duck Hunting" room that also has two queen bunk beds that sleep 8, a TV, and a full bath with jacuzzi.
