Location: Napa, Napa County, Wine Country, California, USA (12 mi east of Napa, (25 min) Sierra view, 2000 ft. elevation)
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
This home, in the Twin Sisters range twenty minutes east of Napa, sits 2000 feet above the Suisun Valley, overlooking vineyards, Fairfield and the Sacramento River delta. It has a view across the river to Mount Diablo, across the Sacramento Valley to the Sierra Nevada, and across Gordon Valley to the Blue Range. The Twin Sisters are 6 miles due east of the City of Napa, up Coombsville, up Wild Horse Valley Road, and through thousands of acres of wilderness. It takes about 23 minutes to reach the center of town.
Deer, turkeys, hawks, bobcats, foxes, and pigs are common. In the morning, sunlight streams in through the floor to ceiling windows. At night, you can see the stars from the couch, or use our telescope. Now, the grass is bright, dry and golden. The late summer fog falls to the north of the house in the morning
The house has two bedrooms, a modern kitchen with new appliances, a hot tub set in a redwood deck, a huge stone fireplace, a propane furnace, and air conditioning. There are flowers out front. It will sleep six if you use the fold out couch ion the living room. More photographs are available.
Suisun Indians, also known as the Wappo, used to live here. Chief Solano's village was located down in the valley below. Hiram and Sarah Rush settled the property in the 1850s. The view from the porch makes it seem like you're standing in the sky.
It is very quiet. Behind the house is a pond with two canoes. We provide firewood for the fireplace at the north end of the house.
