  My family and my best friends family (eight of us total) had the pleasure of visiting Maggie Valley for a summer vacation on 8-4 thru 8-11, 2010. We stayed at "The Great Escape" and were so very happy with our accommodations. It was centrally located to all of the activities we went to in Waynesville, Asheville, Cherokee and other nearby towns. The cabin was comfortable, a home away from home, and we would definitely consider staying there again in our future visits to North Carolina! Thank you for a great family vacation! TIP: Try the Nantahala Gorge Canopy Zipline Tour, great company, awesome fun! And for Whitewater Rafting, we would completely recommend the NOC (Nantahala Outdoor Center), terrific river guides, so much family fun! : )

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  We had a great time at your beautiful cabin! Our family thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and we loved the way the cabin was decorated. We especially enjoyed horseback riding at Smokemont Stables. The hot tub was nice too!! GO GATORS!!!

  Just got back from spending four nights at the Great Escape during Thunder in the Smokys motorcycle rally. The house was immaculate. Great views, the hot tub rested our weary muscles. Very comfortable, with just the right amount of quirkiness (bead curtain for a door got a giggle). Very comfortable house to spend a few days in, perfect for a weekend getaway. For those on motorcycles, the full road and driveway for the house is paved, but it is VERY steep. You should be a comfortable rider before attempting the climb, especially on a big bike. The house was well worth every penny.

  Your place is unreal. It seems too nice for a rental. You took no shortcuts. We had the best vacation ever. We did not want to leave the cabin. The free long distance was a nice touch. Jill

  Just Beautiful! The Cabin is gorgeous,the views from the cabin are fabulous.My husband and I felt right at home. We loved the neighboring towns of Asheville and Waynesville. Just thinking about our little holiday in the "Great Escape" makes me want to book another trip.

  This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The tranquility, the views, the air, everything about the place was fantastic. This cabin is a truly welcoming, and comfortable place to stay. I will be back.

  All we can so is WOW!!!!The cabin is awesome and the view is spectacular.There was plenty things to keep the kids busy near by.The cabin honestly makes you feel at home.

  The Great Escape was truly just that! With the exception of the swarms of seasonal ladybugs and the lack of a king size bed, I would have to say that this was the nicest cabin we have stayed in. The details and comforts were extraordinary. I especially appreciated the large kitchen and of course the hot tub with a view. What model was that? I want one for my home. Highly recomended for a extended stay with family.

  We had a absolutely wonderful time. The weather was perfect and the cabin -- let's see, how can I put it.....I know, It was the "Great Escape".....you could have not done any better with the name of your cabin. We felt like we escaped into another time. Your decor and furnishings are outstanding, the bed in the mater room....We slept like babies....The bedroom furniture was unreal. The dining room table and chairs were perfect and the fireplace and family room comfortable. But the best was your deck and views...how peaceful and serene. The hot tub was indeed a bonus. Overall an A++++ If stars were appointed for the decor, comfort, views with 5 stars being the best....I would give the "Great Escape" ***** FIVE STARS *****

  WOW!!! THIS CABIN IS AMAZING!!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING THIS BEAUTIFUL IN THE MOUNTAINS OR ANYWHERE. YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL DECOR THROUGHOUT THE CABIN IN THE ROOMS AND EVEN OUTSIDE. ITS AMAZING I WILL DEFFINETLY BE BACK THIS CHRISTMAS AND SUMMER!!! M/M LOVE MICHELLE R.

  Words cannot describe your cabin, nor can pictures. What a luxury cabin. We absolutely, without question had one of our best vacations in this cabin.   We were at the cabin in June of 2005. What a neat place :) We absolutely loved the log cabin. It most definitely exceeded our expectations. The cabin is so warm and cozy and decorated perfect. Hot tub and views were spectacular. We will be back next summer and possibly in the winter too!!!! Thanks for a great time, Michelle and Justin

  Comment Text: We were surfing on the web and saw this site. We stayed in this cabin last December! You have a great place. The decorations were very fitting. The bear and moose pictures and figurines were terrific. What a warm and comfy feeling the log home had. The beds were very comfortable and the log furniture in all the rooms was fantastic. The den downstairs, the game room were perfect for the kids. The kitchen was well equipped especially since we cooked in every night. Great HOT TUB and view. We are booking again this year and telling all our friends. The kids said it was the best vacation tehy ver had! Thanks do much for letting us be part of your home. Lori and Frank N. J. P. S.   The log cabin was THE BEST:) All the logs beds were awesome, the kitchen and dining room were great. Cozy family room with neat fireplace (used every night). The decorations were perfect. The kids loved the game room and we loved the hot tub on the lower deck. The upper deck had great views with really cool log rockers. The log cabin exceeded our expectations. We will be back!!! Great location and the golf was super! We did not want to leave.
