We just had our 2nd stay at the lovely Volek residence. Great hang out pad. This is an extremely comfortable home which can accommodate 2 families easily: very spacious, yet cozy. It's located very close to ski resorts (like Sugar Bowl, Boreal or Donner Ski Ranch) and to Donner Lake itself. The home has everything you need - from the kitchen to the bed/bathrooms; it's very nicely appointed. We're looking forward to returning.

We loved staying at this cabin. It was clean and open and had everything we needed. The furniture was comfortable, the linens were new and you got the feeling that this place is loved and well cared for. The kitchen table fits 12! Great location... it's in a flat area...which makes evening walks easy. This was a nice find and we hope to return again. Thank you to the Voleks for making our stay so enjoyable!

We just completed a week at this cabin for the 4th consecutive year. We so enjoy the cabin and all it's aminities. As our family has grown over the last 4 years with the addition of 4 grandchildren & new in-laws we are still very comfortable space wise and sleeping arrangements also. We walk to the beach, drop kayak's in the creek next door, enjoy the deck in the evening's, etc. The kitchen has every appliance, pot, pan, utensil, etc. that you will ever need. We love the separation of the mud room from the main house....this is where all the water toys, shoes & life jackets go. We see our family continuing this tradition at this cabin for many years to come. Thank you for your great hospitality.

I live in the Midwest and was delighted with this cabin. We have a large family and had plenty of space for our reunion. The accomodations were spacious with plenty of room. The large kitchen lends itself to preparation without separation from the rest of your group. The large open and very welcoming great area made you feel like you were outdoors. The property was clean and very well maintained. We enjoyed the lake activities, going into town and shopping and hiking through the abundant natural settings.

I was at the cabin in June of 2001. A beautiful house in a peaceful setting. Five minute walk to the lake. Exceptional location for a quiet getaway and less than an hour to Reno and Lake Tahoe.

We have had the pleasure of renting this property several times, during different seasons. This bright, spacious, vacation home has been as inviting and comfortable for a weekend for two, as for a family or group gathering. We found we had everything we needed, and then some. We love getting to the mountains quickly from the city, and we miss most of the traffic, coming and going. The mountain view from the great room is amazing, we have seen extreme skiers while enjoying our morning coffee. A large deck is the perfect place to wind down as the sun sets, and the home's cul-de-sac location offers quiet and privacy. A crystal clear creek runs just steps away from the deck. We really enjoyed the open-floor plan, gourmet kitchen and relaxed decor. An oversized dining table and chairs, and large bar-height countertop allows the fun and conversation to flow. It was very convenient having bedrooms on both levels, both for privacy and for our family who are no longer comfortable climbing stairs. Everyone was happy with the comfortable beds, which was a factor in choosing to return again. Would we recommend the cabin to our friends and family, absolutely. The location, comfort and location will keep us coming back.
