Great house, great yard, perfect weather for the week and any word I can find would not do this property justice. I grew up in the country and this just brought back such vivid memories of what a good quality of life we had growing up in the 50s. We played games in the yard and enjoyed the fire pit and the beautiful prairie sunsets which so reminded us all that there is nothing to match a prairie sky at dusk. The owners of this property have been super to deal with and the house is immaculate as is the yard itself. We simply were four friends in our fifties looking to spend quality time together catching up on life in general. We do this once a year - last year we spent at a golf course property in Lethbridge AB. Alas - this year we got it right. This was by far a superior week to that one in very respect and we were still close to some great golf courses. There is no doubt that anyone looking for some peaceful and memorable days would have no problem getting their wishes granted at Tummel House. Well done to the owners - you have a gem right here in Manitoba and we truly feel blessed to have been there for a week. We left with absolutely nothing but good things to say about it. Thanks very much for sharing it with those of us who are not so fortunate to own such a property.

Father and Son Fishing Week End

We have been having this annual event for a number of years now, and the Tummel House was by far the best place we have stayed. The house itself is amazing, not to mention the large immaculate grounds, lots of room for playing frisbies and having a bon fire with out distribing other guests, as it is so private. The fishing was great, we caught well over 100 walleyes in about 18 hours of fishing, and there is a public boat launch about 5 min. away from the house. I booked it for next year the day I arrived home ......what a great find !!!

We have great guests who return year after year to enjoy Tummel House - with its charming character, fire pit and beautiful grounds. Fishing at Lake of the Prairies IS fantastic!! In winter, skiing is equally fun and is located close by at Asessippi Ski Hill. Hunting is also fantastic in the autumn. There are so many opportunities to explore and enjoy the area, and then return to your beautiful private home in the evenings. Tummel House is "Home Away from Home" for many people. Our family has had a wonderful get-together. The Tummel House is truly a treasure. Thank you so much for making it available for others to share. This is the first time we have gathered her but would love to come back again. The house feels like home. The grounds are expansive with lots of room to wander.

What a great house and property! Thank you for a unique experience. We came from Texas, British Columbia and a few other local places to attend a wedding. It was great to be able to stay with the whole family since the visit was short. Cranium and Bocce were the two big hits, but we utilized the entire place and loved it. Kids and adults were all happy to be here. Thanks.

A very relaxing stay. We made the first snowmen of spring with our kids and the games cupboard was much used during the falling snow. The last morning, we were entertained by a pair of turkey vultures soaring right over top the house. The charm of this house was evident as soon as we stepped through the door. It was very welcoming and felt like "home" - windows are placed so beautifully. We had a very relaxing visit with our friends. It is evident the house has ended up with people who appreciate its significance.

We all loved this beautiful house. So comfortable; funny how it immediately feels like home. So many things to offer and we especially appreciated the dryer after two very wet days at the ski hill. We loved the scale of the rooms, the beautiful windows and the light coming through them. Standing outside and looking down country roads made me feel a real piece of "Canadiana". Thank you!

This house is a great example of providing modern conveniences while retaining the historic character. My father remembered being here in the 1930's to work during harvest. We had lots of fun - lots of room to play. Wonderful weekend in a unique setting. Brought back so many memories of my childhood. Great place for a family reunion. A wonderful weekend for our families. The weather was hot so the air conditioner was appreciated! The house was large enough so we could all enjoy our meals, lounging and visiting together. We enjoyed the fresh air and sitting under the basswood tree - the sky in the evening was incredibly beautiful.

We love the house. Took a camera and followed trails around the yard. Awesome sunset. Saw a fox, and at Madge Lake we saw a moose and golden eagle. Sorry to be leaving. It's a home away from home.
