Casa de Mariposas is one of the most private quiet, colorful, vacation villas on the tranquil island of Isla Mujeres. We are located on an almost unknown quiet road off the busy main loop towards the south end of the Island.

The villa sits on a hill overlooking the Carribean sea, and has two main bedrooms with private bathrooms and two double sofabeds in the living room. It easily sleeps six but is most suitable for two couples.

The main bedrooms are on the ground floor,adjacent to the the salt water pool, and the upper floor has two open air dining terraces, spacious living room, guest bathroom, kitchen, and a very private roof-top terrace with a mayan wood shaded pergola. There are ceiling fans in all major rooms, gentle breezes from the cooling Caribbean sea, and 3 mini split air conditioners for ultimate comfort(optional for low season).

The villa enjoys wonderful views of sunrise over the Caribbean sea and sunset over the Cancun skyline.

Great attention to detail has been paid throughout the villa in order to make it a peaceful quiet get-away. The decor is cool and calming and there are original artworks, scented candles, and fine English linens to enhance the romantic mood.

The villa has Full kitchen with oven and stove,refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, blender, toaster, sandwich maker, crockery, and cutlery for six.

There are 2 televisions, two DVD players, DVD library, and Stereo CD/Radio/MP3 system with CD's.

Also for your use is a Hammock , fine linens, all towels provided, weekly maid service (additional on request - additional cost), chef (available on request - additional cost), hand made soaps and toiletries in all bathrooms.

The location is idyllic and is only minutes from the amenities of ecologically sound Garrafon Reef Park, fine dining at fine restaurants and the luxuries of the World class Casa De Los Suenos Spa. You will be close to the beach club at Playa Indios with it's fine sandy beach and water sport facilities and only a couple of minutes walk from the excellent snorkelling at Garrafon De Castille.

The villa is a detached private residence, not part of a condo complex and offers excellent privacy for independent travelers to enjoy this laid back, scenic and largely unspoiled island.

  • Isla Mujeres is magical and Casa Mariposa is the perfect setting for a peaceful stay on this small island. The unique pool is a great feature, secluded and relaxing. The open decks offer tranquil views...you can't help but relax! The house and grounds are very well maintained and nicely appointed. Dan gave us great advice when he suggested renting a golf cart to get around the island. We highly recommend Casa Mariposa and plan to return to this beautiful island in the near future...relax and enjoy!

  • We spent a wonderful week at Casa Mariposas, perfect size for 4 people. Richardo was very helpful. One of the best visits to Mexico. The south end of the island is very mellow & relaxing. The house has everything you need & having a pool was great. Comfortable beds. Spent plenty of nights in the outside dinning area playing games. Thanks for the great time!!

  • My husband and I have stayed at Casa Mariposas multiple times and we eagerly await our next return. We love the privacy and spaciousness of the house. The views are gorgeous, and the location on the beautiful south end of the island is great. We love the pool and courtyard and the many outdoor spaces Casa Mariposas has to offer. The bedrooms are thoughtfully furnished and are very attractive. And, we love the ambiance overall. It is a great getaway!

  • We stayed at Casa Mariposas for 10 days in August 2008. What a great find...it was perfect for the 4 of us who were looking for some R&R on the laid-back island of Isla Mujeres. Dan was great to work with for renting the house, and Ricardo (on-site property manager) was also excellent. He picked us up at the ferry dock and escorted us to the Casa. We loved renting a golf cart, spending our days at the beach, and coming back to the house for some time by the pool. The Casa has great island decor and is immaculately kept. Being on the south end of the island for the peace and quiet and lovely views was just what we were looking for, and we can't wait to go back some day!

  • We have vacationed at Casa Mariposas each January for several years. With its beautiful courtyard and swimming pool,this lovely, quiet home is a winter haven. Isla Mujeres is, for the most part, laid back as it is the residence for many folks who work off the Island. If you are looking to party, Isla is not your spot. If you are looking for quiet relaxation, Isla and in particular Casa Mariposas is wonderful.
