The house and gardens are surrounded by 18 acres of organic farmland.

With plenty of room to spread out, bring generations of family together from Eastern cities all within 3 hours - NYC (3 hrs), DC (90 mins), Philadelphia (90 mins.) Unwind by the swimming pool, surrounded by rolling hills, set among horse farms and private estates. Relax around the property in classic Adirondack furniture - bring the family together around the outdoor dining table for eight, or grab a book and plant yourself in the garden while enjoying the long views.

Outside, a large wooden playground with slide, swings, playhouse, all within view of house and gardens, while parents relax nearby, reading, walking. Take long walks on farmland, see rabbits, horses, deer, bald eagles, birds of all kinds. Take out the canoe and paddle in nearby ponds and inlets. Walk down to the beach, take a dip, then enjoy a burger or local crabcakes on the deck of the outdoor cafe, sipping margueritas, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay.

Or cook at home in the large sunny kitchen with all new JennAir appliances, picking up locally-caught Rockfish or crab legs. Serve with it some of the 8 servings of free organic vegetables from the local CSA, included in rentals from mid-May through mid-October. The house is kept sparklingly clean and fresh using all natural cleaning products.

And don't miss historic Chestertown (a 15-minute drive), famed 18th Century fishing village, home to stately houses on the water, numerous antique shops and great restaurants. Don't miss the lively Saturday morning farmer's market, with handmade soaps, crafts of all kinds and a wide selection of locally-grown produce. Worth the trip alone are Wednesdays in nearby Millington, where you'll find Crumpton's Antique Show, a massive indoor/outdoor antique market and auction which draws serious collectors and bargain hunters alike from around the country.

House layout:
Spread out in the spacious but cozy five-bedroom home, tastefully furnished with antique yet comfortable furniture, an ideal place for a family interested in peace and quiet, set far off the road, and away from the demands of busy city life. On the top floor, children sleep soundly in the kids room, with a toddler bed and queen-size futon to accommodate all ages. A Pack n'Play is also available upon request. A queen room across the hall for parents - or not!

Across the hall, the library has a single bed and an additional queen blow-up mattress available upon request. A full bathroom is down the hall.

On the ground floor is a queen bedroom, which can also double as a large family room or den, with chess, checkers, mah jong and board games of all kinds. Across the hall is the living room, with an entertainment center and fireplace, and a half bath next door. Also on the ground floor is the dining room with a table for 10, the bright kitchen, and a breakfast nook/sunroom, with a table for 6 - 7. The playroom extends from there and holds plenty of toys, arts and crafts, and an easel for drawing or painting.
