This cozy beach cottage is PERFECT FOR A FAMILY WITH CHILDREN! It is nestled among other cottages midway in the oceanblock. On quiet nights you can hear the surf from the bedroom windows.
Two bedrooms include one with a platform double bed (storage space underneath) and one with a bunk bed combination (double on the bottom and twin on the top.) Living room sofa is a queen-size sleeper.
Living room/dining room kitchen is a wonderful open space plan with partial cathedral ceiling and skylights. Master bedroom also has a skylight.
It is about a mile to the town of Rehoboth, which has many attractions including the Boardwalk and Funland for kids. The Jolley Trolley runs every 10-15 minutes if the walk is too far. Fast food, casual and formal restaurants, as well as shops and activities, are available within steps in Dewey Beach.
Our kids, now 14 and 18, have LOVED their vacations here since they were babies. It's a great place for a beach getaway - a basic beach cottage where kids can be kids and parents don't have to always be watching out for sand and wet suits!

MISSION
Our rental income supports our family's mercy ministry to the Lord's beloved poor in Juarez, Mexico. This money has allowed us to build homes for two families; pay for, or assist in the cost of, both acute and chronic medical care needs of over a dozen; purchase legal assistance for someone in forced labor bondage; provide over 200 people with one week of food; provide over 500 people with warm coats, sweaters and blankets to comfort them in the freezing winter nights; assist women and children entitled to U.S. citizenship and/or spousal or parental support from U.S. citizens; and to visit and bring cheer to the residents of orphanages, children's shelters, hospitals, the asylum for the mentally ill, and an AIDS hospice.

Reservations prior to 3/31/09: At time of reservation, 2/3 of total rent as non-refundable deposit, by personal check or credit card, with remaining 1/3 plus refundable $200 security deposit due by 4/30/08. Final one-third is refundable if cancellation notice is received by 30 days prior to check-in date.
Reservations 4/1/09-5/30/09: At time of reservation, 2/3 of total rent as non-refundable deposit, by personal check or credit card, with remaining 1/3 plus refundable $200 security deposit due by 6/15/09. Final one-third of rental is refundable if cancellation notice is received by 30 days prior to check-in date.
Reservations after 5/30/09: At time of reservation, 2/3 of total rent as non-refundable deposit, by personal check or credit card, with remaining 1/3 plus refundable $200 security deposit due no later than 30 days prior to check-in. Final one-third of rental is NOT refundable.
WE DO NOT USE A CLEANING SERVICE, AND WE EXPECT OUR TENANTS TO LEAVE THE HOUSE IN THE CONDITION THEY WOULD LIKE TO FIND IT.

$ 25 discount for return renters

3. Approximately 2 weeks before your dates, we'll mail you a packet of information and a set of keys.

Year Purchased: 1995
We are an international adoptive family (Mom is Bonnie, Dad is Keith, daughters are Amy Oksana, age 18, and Jennifer Marina, age 14, adopted from Russia in March 1995, and Yajaira Margarita, age 18, adopted from Mexico February 2005.) Yajaira is the mother of our granddaughter, Kimberly Diana; Amy will be in 12th grade and Jennifer in 9th, Bonnie is a psychologist and Keith is a stay-home dad, a portrait artist, and a missionary in Mexico.
Why the Owner Chose Dewey Beach
Bonnie had vacationed at the MD/DE shore from the time she was 3 years old, and Keith from about age 10. We rented for many years but had kept our eye on these little cottages, some of the rare detached houses where the land is owned rather than leased. When it came on the market at the time we had a small inheritence from Keith's dad's estate, we were able to realize our lifetime dream of a little cottage at the ocean. Our daughters came home from Russia that spring, and "making memories" at the beach in all seasons has been a wonderful part of our family life.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
It is SO close to the beach, so easy to go back if you forgot something, to go to the bathroom (or take a potty training child back quickly!) Our little homeowners group of 9 all get along well and those who rent have had nice tenants as long as we've owned. We love having our little cottage where we can kick back, be casual and relax.
