We just stayed at this villa and had a wonderful time. The villa is VERY NICE with plenty of room. The three bedroom and three baths make it comfortable for everyone. Large dinning area and wonderful HD big screeen TV in living room. The area is a great place with many shops and nice places to eat. The view from the villa of the marina is absolutely breathtaking. It is so much fun to watch the herons and peligans from the balcony of the villa. If you love BIG boats this is the place to be! You can rent or charter any kind of water fun from kayaks, deep sea fishing, to dophin tours. The use of the private ocean access in Palmetto Dunes is very convenient. We loved it all!!!!!

The most beautiful condo I have ever stayed in!!! This place had more than enough room for four adults. It was clean, with plenty of start-ups in place for us. The balcony was spacious and the views speak for themselves! We used the beach chairs and that was very convenient. As long as we were at the Dunes beach by 9:30 am, there were places to part. If not, you can call the dunes van and it will pick you up within 10 minutes. The pool was convenient (we used Harborside III) pool which was bigger. Very nice. We were very happy here for the week and didn't want to leave. Thank you for sharing your wonderful condo with us. We will definately be back again!!!!

This villa is in a wonderful location with shops and good restaurants just a few feet away. Very spacious but kitchen and bathrooms very tired looking and need updating. The bedskirt on the king bed was all ripped and there were nearly holes in the wall by the wardrobe. There was dust on many areas around the place and an old salad in the fridge. We have stayed at many cottages, etc in other countries which have been of far better quality. The owner was very punctual in replying to any questions and also gave us a great list of restaurants to try, of which we did, and they were all good. Would recommend if you are not looking for a 4/5 star.

My wife and I just stayed in this lovely villa. Overall, our experience was excellent with regard to the owner and property. Listing on VRBO for this property was very accurate regarding location and the photos relected the property well. We found the condo to be very well maintained and clean. My wife is a clean freak and she went around with the "white glove" when we first arrived. Correspondence with the owner was easy, pleasant and helpful. Overall, I would give this property a 5 out of 5 stars and will return in the future.

Excellent villa with all the comforts of home. Owner's are extremely accomodating and helpful. Response to a question was almost immediate!. Villa was quiet and immaculate. My wife enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the boats and kayaks going in and out of the harbor. I enjoyed being able to walk around the boardwalk every morning. Having shops and Bistro 17 downstairs are a plus. Sunsets were spectacular from the balcony. Enjoyed a sunset one morning from he beach too!! Beach access excellent! Will book again next year. Thank you McCarthy's!!

This is my second visit to the McCarthy's beautiful property at Shelter Cove. The photos are exactly true to what the property offers - I have taken the EXACT photo of the harbor and must say that my favorite times were breakfast on the patio each morning. It was heavenly watching the birds and early morning enfolding of this enchanting harbor. There is a welcoming atmosphere throughout the property and I felt safe, cozy and at home immediately. Everything is conveniently located (pool, beach, grocery stores, gift shops, restaurants) and yet, being on the top floor offered quiet serenity when we just wanted to hang out and regroup. We also appreciated the huge basket left on the hearth that contained all kinds of valuable information about Hilton Head along with maps - e.g. restaurant menus, shopping guides, area activities). I highly recommend this well maintained, smartly decorated and very lovely property. Thanks for the memories. Ginny Cooper

Spending a week at the Villa for a much needed vacation was great! The instructions for check-in were very clear, keys were in the box for pick-up and the building, parking lot, hallways, etc. of the property were always neat and litter-free. The condo itself was clean and very comfortable. Everything was easy to find, plenty of towels/linens, good access to the pool and hot tub, and as advertised - the balcony is a wonderful spot for sunrise, sunset, and meals! I agree with the location having spectacular views, and it was great to just walk the harbor which is in the "backyard". The Oyster Factory was our favorite restaurant and also enjoyed Cabarro's Italian Restaurant. My travel companion and I really enjoyed staying here and would return tomorrow if possible! Thank you for allowing us in your home. I do intend to return with my family in the future.

I just booked my 3rd stay at this gorgeous villa. My family and I are eager to return to HHI this summer. We have been visitig HHI for the past 7 years and have bounced from vacation home to vacation home until we found this gem! It has everything our family is looking for, location, view, spacious living area, quiet and convenient beach access. My chidren wait in anticipation for Tuesday night Harbourfest, arts and crafts and shopping!! Its so relaxing being able to come back to the condo and view the firework display from the balcony away from the crowd. I would highly reccommend this villa to anyone who is looking for a memorable vacation with their family and friends.

Mary Beth, I wanted to drop you a line to relate our experience at your HHI condo. When we returned to pick up our "Welcome Package" at the lock box at Harbourside III, there was nothing in the box. We waited till 4:15 to see a lady put something in the box. When we removed the envelope, she approached us and apoligised that she was late putting the envelope in the box.She also informed us that her daughter was not done cleaning the condo. We went up anyway. We were met at the door by the girl and told that she could not vacuum, as the closet door was stuck and she could not get out the vacuum cleaner.By the way, we did not receive any keys in the envelope, and the girl was reluctant to give us the keys that she found on the hall table. After I forced open the closet door she finished her "cleaning". The kitchen tile floor was not wiped down or mopped. There were numerous stains throughout the carpeted areas. The window blinds in the bedroom on the living level would not close completely ( which the girl told us was broken for a long time). The phone was not plugged in or charged and as you know from my phone call, the TV cable and internet was not active.Upstairs the master bath had something melted on two of the light bulbs above the sink. On Sunday when we returned to the condo after lunch, we could not enter the parking lot as the gate code was changed. We had not been told the new code or informed that it would change. We only were able to enter after a man leaving the lot told us the new code. In your add you indicated that there was a hot tub, sauna and steam room available for our use. When we could not find these features for our use,we called the property management office only to be informed that these amenities were for Harboursde III residents and renters only. This has been by far the worst rental experience we have had in an otherwise fault free nine year period coming to HHI.We do not expect this level of incompetence in a rental of this grade. We have always rented through VRBO and never had problems of this kind.I am very displeased and disappointed and am fowarding this correspondence to VRBO. Owner response:Dear Future Renters This is a person who broke a closet door (put a huge hole in it which then had to be replaced) and was trying desperately to find any way he could not to pay for damages incurred. When I first read this complaint I couldn't believe what I was reading....only to then find out that he had damaged our property. He was trying to cover himself and prevent being charged for the door so his intentions were to find any little thing he could to counteract his poor behavior. (I’m still not sure how one could put a hole that large in a closet door without throwing oneself at it!) There is very little, if any truth to what has been written and quite honestly I refuse to even address his complaints as they are that ridiculous. We pride ourselves and so does our management company on taking good care of our renters. This is our second home, not a motel chain, and if something doesn’t work or if housekeeping does a poor job...we need to know…we want to know. In this case, though, all complaints were unwarranted and needs to be stated as such. If anyone would like references for our beautiful villa we will provide you with up-to-date ones upon request. Unfortunately, one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch and for awhile I pulled down our reviews. But after thinking about it, I realized that Mark and I have nothing to hide...our unit is beautiful, immaculate and well cared for. I urge any past renters to please post their comments here. As always if anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact us and thank you all again for your continued patronage. We look forward to sharing our second home with you! Mary Beth and Mark

This is our fourth year staying in your wonderful condo. My parents have been visiting HH for 30 years and my family has been coming for about 7 or 8 years and some years my sisters family joins us. Thank -you for sharing your home with us, we love staying here and treat it as our own. If you can believe it we had never tried Charley's Crab and absolutely loved it...was out favorite! We also tried Signes for breakfast. My sister had seen it on Rachael Ray's cooking show. It was very good! We also tried Stripes this year. The men rated it an 8 and the women rated it a 6... Good food not great ambiance. We heard The Sage Room was good but never got there. We did our annual visit to the British Pub. Food is always good but we especially go for their bread pudding. We were all very disappointed to find out that they are not making it with the sauce. We were all like little kids whose ice cream had fallen off the cone. Have a Happy and Healthy Year. We look forward to our visit next year With many thanks

Dear McCarthy's My husband and I are from Richmond Hill, we invited 2 couples from California to join us. We enjoyed staying in your villa. We have stayed in several of the Hilton Head villas, nothing like your beautiful villa. Thanks for sharing it. We are looking forward to renting it again next year.
