We were pleased with the condo as it had everything you would need and was very comfortable. The bus shuttles were easy and convenient to the Village. We picked the perfect weekend with the 2 days of constant snow and would highly recommend staying here. The owners were very accommodating and checked in on us which was greatly appreciated. Owner response:I must say, this season has been on the warmer side of the last two winter seasons. However... I have been getting RAVE reviews with regards to the slopes i.e. making snow and grooming of the slopes, not one complaint so far, just the opposite, guests are enjoying the beautiful days and the good slope conditions. We had a great stay with our family of five and could have slept 4 more easily. Tons of sleeping space. Condo was well equipped and nicely furnished/ decorated. Much more up to date than other condos we've seen at Silver Creek. Not too far from elevator - a plus with young tired skiers. We'll be back!!

This was our 2nd time at Teena's condo and everything was great again (see my review from Feb 2011 for more detail). Love the new stainless steel kitchen. The kids had a great time in their bunk-bed and enjoyed all the games in the condo. We were quite worried about skiing conditions when we drove up and it was about 59 F around the mountain base. However, Snowshoe management did a wonderful job maintaining the slopes. They made snow at night when it went down to the 20's and groomed it to perfection for the next day. We had not one bad day out of the 6 days we skied there. Another great vacation.

Great place to stay with family, we had everything we needed for a great vacation. Teena was very helpful and everything was organized professionally. The slopes were perfect even though we didn't have a lot of natural snow. The ski instructors are awesome. My 4 year old daughter learned to ski in 2 days. Everyday after a long day of skiing we hit the indoor and outdoor pool/jacuzzi and sauna and fell asleep after that while enjoying the crackle sound of the fireplace. We really had 6 magical days at Snowshoe Silvercreek. Absolutely would recommended to a friend, relative or anybody who would want to get away from the busy city life to have some fun.

Tina ... I just wanted to say thank you again for your incredible hospitality. We have stayed at a lot of VRBO/HomeAway/etc kinds of places and have never had a host/hostess be as accommodating as you. Your place is lovely and the skiing was great on that last day. My family loves to ski and snowboard so we go on a ski/snowboard trip a few times a season, and this was the best trip ever. The condo was more than neat and clean and it was so conveniently located that hitting the trails was no hassle at all. It was so convenient that we were in and out of the condo many times a day, enjoying both day and night skiing. Also, Teena was wonderful and provided such a good care for us that we felt at home while we were there. Thanks, Teena, and we sure would like to return again soon.

This unit is Perfect! Everything you want and need on a ski vacation. Plenty of room, more than enough beds, VERY well equiped. The kitchen and bath rooms were fully stocked, as well as, having a large washer & dryer. Tons of games for the kids, both board games and WII unit and a TV with DVD/VCR in the 2nd room. The best part was that Teena, went above & beyond with all the helpful info she provided. We will definately stay in this unit again!

Excellent place for a ski trip!! You will feel as home! The condo is located in the Silver Creek building next to the ski area. Very convenient! The place is great! All amenities you require are included, just leave your car parked and everything you require for a great ski trip is in the condo or even in the same building (e.g convenience store, pools, rest, bar). All rooms are very comfortable, clean bathrooms and kitchen have all appliances necessary to enjoy great hot meals after skiing! Even if someone from your group does not ski, do not worry!! She or he will feel very confortable in their cozy living room watching cable TV or accesing the WiFi. I will not look for any other place for our next family ski trip!

Snowshoe Getaway

I can't say enough about the owner's efforts to make sure everything was taken care of with our trip. Teena went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and safe. The unit was exactly as advertised in the photos. No complaints at all with the unit or owner! Overall I would certainly stay here again. Our only minor issue was with the on property food services. None of the places to eat at Silver Creek were very good, but we did have a great meal up at The Junction in the village. We used Snowcreek Mountain Sports for our rental gear and they were great to deal with. We were native Floridians on our first trip to snow, so we had lots of questions. Everyone we dealt with was eager to help, from the minute we arrived at Snowcreek getting our gear to the time we left the property. I would definitely return to this property and rent from Teena again if we ever decide to come back to this area.

Everything went well. With that many people, traveling so far, I wanted everything to be perfect and it was. We couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Even though the snow was not plentiful this year everyone had a great time. The slopes were well groomed and we skied as much as we wanted. We went to the village a few times but the teenagers liked Silver Creek the best because there was no stopping. There were no lines and it was not crowded. They could ski from 9 to 9 and they did. Your condos were well stocked, very clean and comfortable. Thank you for making our vacation such a success.

2ND GREAT YEAR AT LUCA II (SILVER CREEK ONE-BEDROOM CONDO)

This was our second year at Luca II and as long as we return to Snowshow/Silver Creek we won't bother with another rental condo. Teena is extremely organized and makes the whole rental process easy. The condo is well appointed with everything from a crockpot (great for hot meals after hitting the slopes) to a cappuccino maker. There is even a full spice rack available! The unit has very comfortable furniture including a nice bed mattress. Silver Creek is a great little resort within the Snowshoe resort. There are no crowds during mid-week skiing and the slopes are wide and well groomed. If you want the hustle and bustle of the larger resort, it is only a free shuttle bus ride away.

Excellent Time in Silver Creek - Feb 2011!

We (my boys ages 14 & 11) and I had a great time at the Silver Creek Lodge. The lodge had terrific hot tubs and heated pools for after skiing, and the sports bar within the lodge was ideal for dinner after a day of skiing. The night skiing at Silver Creek was really cool also. The unit itself was charming, clean and had everything we needed. Nice big screen HD TV in the living room and TV's in each bedroom. The owners made the entire process very easy!! We took the shuttle to Snowshoe for skiing and dinner a couple of times and it was quick and convenient. I highly recommend this condo, and we will be back!

Luca's Lodge was great for our family. We are a family of five with children 14, 12 and 7. The convenience of it is great for those who want to ski all day, or those who like to ski several times a day for a few hours at a time. Everyone can be on their own schedule as you walk right out the door to get on the slopes or take the shuttle to the main mountain. The pool is a wonderful amenity for little ones who get too cold and want a break from skiing. The condo is well equiped for those on a budget and eat in rather than out. The condo is very clean and comfortable. Teena does a great job of following up and making sure that you have a great stay.

We have enjoyed this condo and have stayed the past two years on family ski trips to Silver Creek. Kitchen is wonderfully equipped for family dining - Bedroom is spacious with nice linens, sheets and very comfortable. Teena is a great host and very accommodating. This is the best place to stay for the price, the easy ski in/ski out access to the Silver Creek part of Snowshoe. It is as close to staying in your own cabin or chalet with all the advantages that come with a modern hotel. The room made me feel like I was at my home away from home. The modern decorations, the fireplace, the extremely comfortable bed and full kitchen amenities give you the ultimate peace and relaxation one needs after a hard day of skiing or snowboarding. Unlike most hotel buildings where you can hear your neighbors, you can't hear the neighbors at all in these awesome units. This also makes you feel more at home. I now plan to visit Snowshoe several times a year and I will stay no other place but at Silver Creek and renting from Teena Mangano. I highly, highly recommend staying here.

Great Place for Family Vacation

We had a wonderful week at Snowshoe in Teena's 2BR Condo. Teena was very nice and helpful with everything. The Condo was nice, spacious and clean and had all that we needed. The mattresses were really comfortable. The check in with the lockbox was easy and fast. The kids loved their bunk beds and all the games. The location of the unit was very good as well since it was close to the elevator. This came in handy when lugging around the ski equipment in the morning, especially when you have to carry your Toddlers gear on top of your own skis. Which gets me to the one drawback of the building - there is no storage room/lockers for skis downstairs. They only have small lockers for personal items. A previous reviewer mentioned the pool being too cold, which was an issue for us only on 1 out of 6 days we used it. I am guessing this had to do with outside temperature fluctuations and the pool staff not making a timely adjustment? Our first day it was 42 degrees outside and the pool was fine, then 2 days later it was 17 outside and the pool was cold. By the next day they must have adjusted it as the pool was fine and outside still only 17 degrees. As far as pool noise audible in the apartment, this is mostly an issue on the weekend, as the week was quiet. It closes at 10pm. Having the restaurant downstairs was a convenience, however the food was not very good. Not much of an issue for us since we had all the equipment in Teena's kitchen to cook up something better. The service was friendly though, which can be said for the rest of the building shops, lift ticket folks, rentals and kids ski school. We never encountered anybody grouchy and the kids who were in ski school the whole week, loved their teachers. For folks staying there for a week and don’t like eating out, I would recommend bringing lots of food with you as the grocery shopping on the mountain is limited. Wildcat Provisions, is just that - I guess that's why they didn't name it Wildcat Groceries! You will not find much fresh nor exotic stuff there and we knew this since Teena had pointed that out in her info brochure. All in all a great visit, great skiing and we are looking forward to staying in Teen's Condo again next year.

Wonderful stay at Snowshoe

My family and I just returned from a week's stay at Snowshoe. We stayed in the Mangano's 2 bedroom condo and we have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with the exception of the pool (will get to that in a minute). The condo was beautifully decorated, well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. Teena was also extremely easy to work with! We stayed with 2 older kids and a baby...my older kids enjoyed staying in the bedroom with the bunks, while there was plenty of room in the MBR to set up a playpen for the baby to sleep in. I also appreciated the fact that the kids had their own bathroom. We did try to go down to the pool area one night. My understanding was that the pool was heated inside and out. The water was very cold and the room that houses the pool was freezing cold...this was a real shame as it would have been a nice activity that the baby could have participated in. Overall, we had a great time and are looking forward to our next trip.

My family and two friends rented Teena and George's unit. It was clean and had EVERYTHING we needed...right in the unit. It was just like home, with the exception of 16 inches of snow overnight! The skiing conditions couldn't have been better. I forgot my crockpot at home and was so pleased to see that they had one I could borrow. The beds were comfortable and the firewood for the fireplace was complementary. At the end of every skiing day, our balaclava's and clothing were dirty and needed to be cleaned and dryed. I was glad that there were both a washer and dryer in the unit. I would highly recommend renting this property. I know we plan to next year. Thank you for your hospitality Teena.

1 BR @ Silver Creek

My husband and I stayed with our sons, 20 and 16, at Silver Creek over the MLK weekend. The boys, who have done most of their snowboarding in Utah, had a blast -- they decided that the runs and the terrain park at Silver Creek were better than tolerating the long lift lines at Snowshoe. They enjoyed the night skiing that only Silver Creek offers. My husband and I didn't ski this trip; instead we walked around The Village at Snowshoe, visited the small logging town of Cass, and took the tour of the radio telescopes in Green Bank. The condo was great ~ clean, comfortable, a wood burning fireplace, and a cappucino machine! Teena and George are wonderful, available, on top of things and go the extra mile. The Silver Creek/Snowshoe staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived late on Friday night and the only restaurant still open was Taste of Asia in The Village. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. We also gave Misty's Sports Bar a try and had a great bartender and decent bar food. Nice to have the buses between the two resorts and there was never much of a wait. There was no Verizon cell phone service (glad to peel the phone from my husbands ear for a few days, hahaha) but wireless internet was available. So nice to avoid lobby check-in because of the lock box. Would most definitely recommend this particular property at Silver Creek!

Clean and comfy - a real home away from home!

My brother and I made plans to take my 4-year-old nephew skiing here for his first experience time, and this was an excellent place to stay with little kids. Teena was super helpful every step of the way, helping us find discount lift tickets, providing us with plenty of information to help us plan our trip, and checking in with us after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. The listing was accurate and the pictures were right on target. We stayed in the 2 bedroom condo, which has a second bedroom with bunk beds and a TV with VCR/DVR and a gaming system - perfect for the little ones! The master bedroom has double closets and a private separate bathroom. The kitchen table fits a family of 4 comfortably - more than that and some might have to eat at the sofa using the large coffee table, although several extra chairs are provided, tucked away in a closet. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone with kids or if, like me, you love night-skiing. I found it a lot quieter than Snowshoe Village, so if you want some peace and quiet after your day on the slopes, this is a relaxing place to stay. You could hear some people using the hot tub in the evening, because the master BR overlooks the pool and hot tub area. But they didn't keep us up or anything, and it was super peaceful the rest of the time. The condo had everything we could possibly need in terms of appliances and dishes and linens. Even laundry detergent for the washer/dryer and powder soap for the dishwasher. The shuttle bus came frequently so it was really easy to pop on over to ski Snowshoe, too. The only thing I would change is that the wireless wasn't working inside the condo, but Teena had an ethernet cord there we could use to plug in, and she was on the phone trying to fix the problem for us every day. At the end of a long day skiing, I was just too tired to try resetting the modem, and my brother enjoyed being "unplugged" in our Winter Wonderland too much to do it himself. We both had a GREAT time and will recommend this condo to any family and friends heading to Snowshoe. Thanks so much, Teena, for helping us have a wonderful winter vacation!

Owner response:Wireless Internet is up and running, one of our fabulous guest changed the password, no worries. We brought our Son and his friend Sam who diagnosed the problem within minutes and I have been answering inquiries all weekend. The weather has been terrific, I would love to stay longer but have guests coming in tomorrow.

My family (with 2 under-10 boys) stayed in this unit in mid January 2011, and found the reviews below were right on. We stayed 2 nights, but wish we had stayed longer. The unit has everything you could want, and Teena went out of her way to make sure everything went smoothly. The location is perfect. We found the hot tub could be loud at night, but the staff at the resort close it promptly at 10, so there's no noise after that. We will try to stay here every time we visit.

This has become my first choice of accomodations at Snowshoe/Silvercreek. We stayed in the one bedroom condo this year. We love the convenience of this condo to the elevators and the bed is soooo comfortable. Teena pays attention to details and I appreciate that. I agree with the other comment about cell phone usage but the availability of internet access made that a non-issue for us. We were aware of that from previous visits so we leave the phone number of the condo for our family to reach us. In a way, it is nice that our grandchildren cannot text their friends constantly. We enjoyed working a jigsaw puzzle but I might suggest, Teena, that you put a card table in the condo. It would have been a better surface on which to work. Minor thing, I know. Our granddaughter was able to take advantage of the two for the price of one ski lessons offered in January. She was the only one in the group class both days so that was a terrific experience for her and she really improved her skills.

We hit the jackpot! The condo was very comfortable. It was easy to settle in and feel right at home very quickly. The location of the Silver Creek was perfect. Night skiing was wonderful for our boys (16/13) and tubing right outside the back door. Teena is very detailed oriented and ensured that we made it safely (as we drove through the winter storm). She is quite the hostess. You can't go wrong with this condo. Next time we come we will stay a bit longer and rent the two bedroom.

My family loved our stay at Luca's Lodge. Fireplace and all the kitchen amenities made our stay. Two bedrooms allow a little privacy away from the kids, and the two full bathrooms are great. The indoor/outdoor pool and workout facility are excellent. Nice surprise to see the condo well stocked with family games and movies too. Dealing with Teena is a bonus - she is extremely honest, very quick to respond, and accurate also. She checked in with us via phone and email during our stay to make sure things were going well.

our holiday visit

This was our first family ski trip. The condo for a good size for our family of 5, it was clean and had everything we needed. It is located right above the outdoor pool/hot tub, which tended to get loud at night. The staff at the ski school and Adaptive ski school were very helpful. The immediate food options were average at best. The complete lack of cell phone usage on the mountain was frustrating. You really felt isolated. Our family enjoyed the tubing and horse drawn sleigh ride.

Owner response:Resort guests visiting during the holidays need to keep in mind the volume of guests being serviced on the mountain. Christmas holidays are the most desired time of the year and every condo on the mountain is probably booked. With this amount of visitors, please expect a few disappointments. I discussed several comments with our Operations Mgr. One concern was Food and Beverage. I thought he did a good job of putting things into perspective. He noted, during holidays there are sometimes 30 tickets on the prep line, obviously, that is not a pretty sight. However, we at Silver Creek probably received the least amount of compaints vs wait times of 2 hours in the Village. My suggestion to those who hate to wait and like to cook, would be to bring something special and fix a nice gourmet meal in our condo. Don't set yourself up for disappointment by dinning out at the most popular times 7-9pm. Regarding the noise level at the pool: Again, that is expected at the pool, gym lobby areas, food court & arcade, when we have a full house; pool closes at 10. I think when guests have an understanding of what to expect they just naturally go with the flow which makes for a more memorable vacation experience.

I work on at a beach resort in Florida and see a lot of condos that are owned by individuals. Teena's 1 bedroom was one of the nicest, cleanest and well cared for condos I've seen. I was concerned about the age of the building but everything was nice and clean. The king size bed was awesome and my husband thought one of the most comfortable he has ever slept in. Teena pays great attention to detail and it shows in every inch of this condo. We especially loved the fact that skiing, tubing, night skiing, pool, hot tub, sports bar, tram stop and so much more was right outside your door. Teena was also so helpful before we ever even arrived at Snowshoe. This was our first ski trip and she helped us with suggestions on everything from where to buy ski clothes to where to grocery shop before our arrival. We could not have gotten such attention and help from an operator at a resort. We will definitely come back to Silver Creek on our next ski vacation and Teena will be our first call! Thanks for giving us a white Christmas!

Great Property, Great Vacation

I stayed in the 1BR unit. Snowshoe has a lot to offer during the summer, especially for those are interested in a stay that lets them relax and avoid crowds. This unit very comfortable and well appointed. The owners are very active about making sure that everything is right. A casual mention about a coffee maker that wasn't working right resulted in it being quickly swapped. The condo was the perfect place to relax after an active day at the resort or around the other activities in the area. This is one of the few units at the resort that has an A/C unit. My stay was timed to hit nearly the peak heat of the year, so this was very welcome. The building has a great indoor/outdoor pool and we made good use of it. Just hanging around at the building could have been a get away alone. The summer activities at the village are a lot of fun and well worth checking out. One thing to keep in mind is that you need to drive or take a shuttle to the village. The shuttle runs on a "on call" basis during most of the summer. During this time of year it feels like you have the place to yourself. I did have a few issues with the resort activities (some activities we paid for were not available). They generally made good on those things. Working with the owners was easy. They are helpful (I was given lots directions and lots of suggestions) and reasonable. They made sure that I knew the were available to take care of any potential issues. One bonus with this condo is that they use a lock box for access to the key. This means that you avoid the hassle of checking at another location. After a long drive this is a very welcome little convenience.

I highly recommend Teena's two bedroom unit at Silver Creek. From first contact to last, Teena was very professional and considerate. She even called during our stay to make sure everything was good. The condo is well equipped and has everything you need (kitchen appliances, entertainment electronics, etc.) We brought our whole family of 6 and everyone had a great time. The kids particularly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I wasn't sure how we would like staying at Silver Creek since we really wanted to ski Snowshoe, but the shuttle makes skiing Snowshoe during the day very easy and then we came back to Silver Creek for evening skiing. By the end of the weekend, we were all saying Silver Creek is the place to stay and Teena's condo may be the best maintained and equipped of everything at Silver Creek Lodge. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful time in Teena's condo! The two-bedroom is beautiful and clean, with all the extras we could ever want! We enjoyed eating on the mountain as soon as we discovered the shuttle service and went to the Village. The pizza place was the best! AND we all learned to ski!

The condo was perfect for my family. It was imaculate and had very comfortable atmosphere. The Silver Creek location is such that, you can ski all day all over the mountain, come in for dinner and then ski at Silver Creek at night. My family and I look forward to another stay.

We just returned from Luca's Lodge and had a great experience. The 2BR condo is very spacious and the bunk beds are perfect for kids. All of the beds slept so well that I actually checked out what kind of mattresses they were before we left! The outside pool and hot tub were a big hit and the ski in ski out location was really nice. Thanks Teena for making our first trip to Snowshoe a big success!

Wonderful accommodations! My family had a wonderful time and can't wait to rent this unit again. One suggestion, when opening the oven, you must hold down the unlatch button b/f the oven unlocks. Nice big tv to watch as well as comfortable mattresses! Would recommend to others for sure.

We stayed in Teena's 1 bedroom condo in early January 2010. This condo was perfect - it was nicely decorated, had all the amenities anyone would need, and was very cozy and comfortable. It felt like home from the second we arrived. In addition, every interaction with Teena, the owner, was more than pleasant. She was so hospitable and accommodating and went out of her way to make sure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. She will treat you as if you are family. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone!

We will definitely consider renting Teena's 2 bedroom condo again. We find Silver Creek to be a very family friendly location. Lucas Lodge is spacious, updated, clean, and provided all necessary amenities. Renting from Teena was a very positive experience. Her organization and attention to detail was very appreciated.
