Jack Frost Mountain house description
If you are looking to get away with your family or friends my house is the place to stay. Whatever season you visit you will not be disappointed. The fall is breath-taking, summer relaxing and the winter is fresh and crisp, Spring is perfect transition. Pick your season; there is always something to do!
This mountain house features two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a loft.
The downstairs bedroom features a queen size bed, private bath and access to the hot tub room. The hot tub room is a perfect place to relax the tired body after a day on the slopes.
The upstairs bedroom features a king size bed. There is another full bath on the second floor along with a loft where there is single bed and bunk bed with upper single and bottom full size.
The sitting room downstairs has a stone fireplace to create a warm cozy atmosphere which is great for when you come in from a winter outdoor day.
The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials to cook up a hearty meal.
Sit out on the front deck or on the screened in porch and relax and listen to the wildlife, or watch the deer as they wander the village and pond area.
Located on Jack Frost Mountain, skiing and tubing are within minutes, a short walk distance to the slopes and lifts or a quick drive. During the spring, summer and fall you can enjoy the hiking trails around Jack Frost or visit Hickory Run State Park's famous Boulder Field and waterfalls for some exercise and breathtaking scenery. Best of all, you can relax by a fire or sit on the deck, and get away from it all in a spectacular mountain setting.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day enjoy Lake Club Membership privileges; lake swimming, lounge on beach, swim in heated pool; rent a boat on the lake.

a week of summer fun
a week of summer fun
we rented for a week in august and were very pleased with the accomodations. we wanted a place to relax and we could do that. the house is well equipped, clean ,attractive and even nicer than we expected. we hiked, sight seed, and explored this lovely area in the poconos.. our daughters and children came for the weekend and we had plenty of room and lots of fun. the lake passes were put to good use daily. thelake, pool, playground, games were enjoyed by all. it was about a 7 mile drive so we planned each day bringing lunches, etc. we went to the town of jim thorpe and enjoyed the train ride and walking through the quaint town. we visited big boulder and were amazed. at what we saw. we were lucky with beautiful weather and the nights got cool. the owner was a pleasure to deal with and returned my calls immediately when we could not figure some minor things. we definitely would recommend this house and it must be beautiful in winter.

Charming and quiet in the springtime
Charming and quiet in the springtime
We arrived on a holiday weekend (Memorial Day) and were pleasantly surprised at how quiet things were in this area of the poconos. The villa is charming and thankfully not attached, so we were able to relax. The internet and movies were a nice surprise and very convenient. The hiking and sightseeing in the area is second to none, so beautiful if you're willing to go for a short drive. The owner/landlord was very pleasant and accomodating and made the whole transaction as easy as it could have possibly been. A real pleasure to work with. She was even willing to help me out when I left something behind! Just 2 tips for any traveller: 1. If you plan on using the hot tub, and it was turned all the way down b/c you just arrived, give it a few hours to heat up. It's a lot of water and it takes some time, but it's well worth it; and 2. If you are travelling in the summer, consider the weather. The villa was lovely and cool almost every day, but when it got humid one night, it was a little tough with no A/C (though there is some kind of fan in every room). I am hoping to rent again in the winter since it appears that is prime time for this area and it promises to be a lot of wintery fun!

We stayed here during the 2008-2009 ski season. It was clean and well-appointed. The wifi was a real convenience too. One warning - it is not really walking distance from the slopes.

Owner response: There is a walking trail out onto slope but it is 2 village blocks to this trail and with equipment good for young, but not what I would do with ski boots on and carrying skis. It is a two minute ride to the lodge though and parking lots.
