Lovely Stay at the Aloha Loft!

Guest: Kristen (Wisconsin)
Date of Stay: 03/12/12 Review Submitted: 03/22/12

We loved our stay at the Aloha Loft! It is cute and comfortable and serene, and exactly what we were expecting based on the description and the pictures. The bed and seating area are just beautiful, and we loved the view from the lanai. We were there after many weeks of rainfall, so we got to see beautiful waterfalls right from the property in the lush, beautiful mountains behind the property. We were definitely woken up before 5, thanks to the rooster outside the door, but after the first morning we didn't notice as much and it added to the ambiance of the place. Plus, on Kauai, you'll have the rooster experience anywhere you stay, from what I hear. The property is also right on the road and with the windows open, you hear the vehicles driving by.... Again, wasn't anything we didn't get used to. We got unlucky during our stay with parking -- the Aloha Loft shares the reserved parking spot with another room and we were always looking for the "guest" spots. This wasn't a big deal most of the time, really-- but one time we returned to the place late and didn't have anywhere to park as all the guest spots were taken all the way down the road. When you get there, the parking information states you have no guaranteed parking spot, which is certainly not the end of the world but it wasn't as convenient as we wished. Minor concerns though, the rest of the qualities of the Aloha Loft more than make up for it and we really liked it here! Kauai is beautiful! The Princeville area is lovely, and you should definitely drive to Hanalei. Heading toward Kapa'a and Lihue is pretty and easy, and I definitely recommend making the drive to Waimea Canyon -- go all the way to the very end of the road, to the Pu'u O Kila Lookout -- it's wonderful! And if you can, we did a helicopter tour to see the Napali Coast and the Waimea Canyon and the rest of Kauai in a way that you just cannot otherwise see... it was unbelievable!!! And our favorite eating spot was The Beach House, about an hour away from the Aloha Loft. Go there to watch the sunset, it's awesome. In all, we would absolutely stay at the Aloha Loft again! It's comfortable and lovely and a great place to stay on Kauai!!

Owner response:Kristen, Glad you had a wonderful stay with us. The waterfalls have been simply amazing lately. We look forward to having you back as return guests. We also love THE BEACH HOUSE, gosh haven't been there in years. Glad to hear it is still a great restaurant. Much Aloha, Kelly and Kiko

Enjoyed our stay in your lovely little condo! Very comfortable and nicely decorated. Following a year of cancer treatments, this was a very nice get away for us and a great place to celebrate being done! Use of the IHome was wonderful! Enjoyed Hawaiian music from our IPod. Made it all the nicer. Mahalo and Aloha.

We have enjoyed our time in Kauai very much. The roosters do live right out in the trees and woke us up every morning but it was alright because we were able to have 5 fully packed exciting days. We would highly recommend going to "Hideaways Beach" your first night to see the sunset. Also Captain Andy's tour was the top of our visit. There is no better way to see dolphins and go in the sea caves. Thanks for letting us stay here. The view is amazing and the condo felt like home. Mahalo!

We've loved our stay here at HALE MOI. This unit was perfect for us on our honeymoon. Prime location for all activities and great lanai views of mountains! There are great sunset views just a few minutes walk from here at The Terrace at St. Regis or the cliff look out on the road to the Resort. There are also great beaches here in Princeville- Hideaways, Sea Lodge and in Kilauea, Secrets Beach. One activity we highly recommend is a snorkeling trip of the Na Pali coast with Na Pali Catamaran located in Hanalei (summer only) The crew was fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. We hope everyone enjoys there stay at THE ALOHA LOFT AT HALE MOI as much as we have!

Greetings from San Francisco! Hope you all have a lovely stay. If you walk up the road towards the St. Regis, just before the guard station is a small dirt pathway on the right. It leads down to a steep path to a nice beach (Hideaways). Enjoy!

What a wonderful room, location and view! Didn't really think about it before, but it was so convenient to have lots of the little things here that you don't normally bring with you on vacation. Bottle of wine? opener is right in the drawer. Forgot to buy butter for scrambling eggs in the pan? Bottle of oil does just fine! Oatmeal..forgot raisins? Brown sugar right in the cupboard. I always thought that roosters only crowded at sunrise; 4am they were trying to get us up :)! (At least it was a comfort to know that the whole rest of the island experiences the same thing) Highlights- Hanalei Bay, Kee Beach, Kalalau Trail, McBrides Garden, Waimea Canyon, Spouting Horn, and Wailua Falls. Thank you Kelly for opening up your wonderful home to us- really did feel like a home away from home.

We have had such a wonderful stay here. It was nice to have all the comforts of home every evening as we prepared for the next day's adventures. We highly recommend the zip line tour at Princeville Adventures, kayaking with Kayak Kauai, Waimea canyon for hiking, Postcard's Cafe for great food, and a Na Pali boat trip. Mahalo!

Aloha All! We had such a wonderful visit to Kauai. We had an excellent guide, "The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook", which is available for use by the guests in THE ALOHA LOFT. It is awesome! We dis so much in the 8 days we were here. The Na Pali trip is unforgettable. Walk to Hideaways and Queen's Bath right from this unit. THE ALOHA LOFT has been a comfortable place to stay for us and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we did! Have a great time! Aloha.

Had such a wonderful time in Kauai, and was very impressed with THE LOFT. We will certainly pass on the good word to friends and family! Personally, I've never felt so at home on a vacation. We loved Hideaways Beach! (Near the St. Regis Tennis Courts) The snorkeling was great, but be careful of the coral at low tide. We also rented a couple of bikes and a kayak in Hanalei which was a great way to explore a bit of the island. Aside from these and the classic spots like Queen's Bath, and Hanakapi'ai Falls previously mentioned in the is guest book, we can only suggest sleeping in, cooking delicious meals and reading all those books you never had time for to make your vacation as wonderful as ours. Thank you Kelly for providing such a warm and lovely home for us! Mahalo.

Another great vacation and stay at THE ALOHA LOFT. This is our fourth time here and as always are pleased with the condition of the unit that Kelly provides. We love cooking meals and having BBQ at the beach with island friends. We hope your vacation will be as wonderful as ours and you will respect this beautiful island and this home. Much Aloha and Mahalo.

We've been staying here since Dec 26th and it has been a lot of fun. We love the North Shore of Kauai a lot!! It is so beautiful!! There have been high surf warnings for the last cople of days and some of the beaches aren't good for swimming but you can always to right to Anini Beach (10 minutes by car) for that. Hanalei Bay is perfect for beginner surfers, if you want to give it a try. We'd come back and stay here in a heartbeat.

I rented this for my nephew and his girlfreind as it was very near my condo a block away. We were totally enamored with the beautifully remodeled condo as well as the stylish furnishings. It was very private and romantic for them. Having a full size kitchen and washer/dryer was convenient and cost saving for them. The view of the mountain off of the balcony was beautiful. Being an end unit upstairs reduced normal multi-unit noise and distractions. When my sister and I saw the condo we wanted to trade them with my condo during the stay. My nephew was very adament that we could visit but they were not trading! Thank you for making our little family reunion in paradise even more special!

What a great stay we've had here on Kauai! We enjoyed our time at THE ALOHA LOFT & would return again! Some of the highlights we'd suggest for future visitors- Hike to the waterfalls Hanakapi'ai Falls on the Kalaulau trail. (8 miles total, rough terrain at times, bring lots of water & shoes that can get wet.--snorkel @ tunnels beach (go early to get a parking spot)--Sweet chili-garlic shrimp @ shrimp station in Waimea--Shave Ice @wishing well in Hanalei. We used the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook from the book shelf & loved it. Check it out. Thanks for a great stay.

We had a wonderful time here in Kauai and this room has been great. THE ALOHA LOFT is truly beautiful and has been a great place to rest from our daily adventures on the island. Kauai is magnificent and gorgeous. Those lucky enough to stay here will find that possible activities are virtually endless. We would remind them to take time to relax, when you go to a place like Kauai your mind can't help but start dreaming about the next time you will come. This is a true dream vacation area. Tunnels and Hideaways beaches are wonderful. The water at Queen's Bath is warm and delightful. If you go to the beach at Sea Lodge during low tide, swimming and snorkeling will be impossible but the water is still nice and the fish are very visible. If you feel like wading in, expect to see lots of crabs. Aloha and Mahalo!

Location, Location, Location. This was our third stay there and each time we are very grateful of the condition the unit is kept in. We feel very much at home in this more than adequate furnished unit. My wife loves to cook and she has everything she needs. We can't say enough about the beautiful location and all that comes with it. We enjoy the people, beaches, mountains and restaurants when there. We look forward to our next trip there in the spring.
