A Nantucket Thanksgiving

Guest: StoneCroft (Eastern PA)
Date of Stay: 11/19/11 Review Submitted: 12/07/11

Our stay at this property was wonderful! The view of the rolling backyard and the location is idyllic. This was our first visit to Nantucket and this rental contributed greatly to a most pleasant experience. This home is spacious, comfortable and stocked with every amenity. Big screen tv with cable, kitchen with more than ample cooking supplies, wi-fi and oversized dining table that accomodated 8 of us are some of the comforts of home. House was very clean and ready for our arrival. Beds are comfortable with nice linens. Towels are plush and ample. Washer and dryer are an added bonus. Given that we visited in the off-season (the week of Thanksgiving), we made use of mild weather by walking (to the beach, around the cranberry bogs, to/from Altar Rock and around Nantucket town). The beach is welcoming and observing the seals just 10 yards out was a thrill! We did some Black Friday shopping downtown. On rainy days we enjoyed the extensive collection of reading materials, especially the coffee table books on Nantucket! The owner is extremely helpful and readily available to address any concerns or questions. He recommended restaurants and offered suggestions. We loved the Whaling Museum but didn't allow ourselves enough time for a complete visit. Guess this means that we will have to go back! Overall, a great home and a great place. You must have a car as this property is located several miles out of town.

Two Weeks in Nantucket

Guest: James C. (Washington, District of Columbia)
Date of Stay: 08/13/11 Review Submitted: 08/27/11

We were happy to discover that 8 Salti Way lived up to and exceeded it online description. The house is nestled away from neighbors on a really lovely parcelsurrounded by screening vegetation. It was very private with plenty of yard space for our dogs to bound around. And at night, it is dark enough to see the Milky Way. The house and cottage are very solid and well appointed, clean and comfortable. There is a great deck off the master bedroom and a large patio with a table that sits 8--plus gas grill. The hosts were also very accommodating, very gracious and could not have made our visit any easier. Really nice people. As for the location, the house is located away from the busier parts of the Island near a smaller beach area that provides a choice between ocean and bay swimming, with the latter appealing more to parents with small children. We preferred the beach at Quidnet, which was popular but rarely crowded, plus the surf casting activity was great--almost all blues (all released). We would highly recommend this property to others and hope that hurricane Irene is kind to Nantucket, Quidnet and this property.

Peaceful Retreat

Guest: Tamara G.
Date of Stay: 07/02/11 Review Submitted: 07/31/11

"Belle's Gift" is a little oasis to itself in Quidnet. Peaceful and serene, the location provides a welcome reprieve from the busy summer crowds in downtown Nantucket (20 minutes away), yet is near to the Polpis Road, Sconset, Wauwinet and bike path The expansive yard provides a beautiful vista and sense of privacy and a wonderful, safe place to romp for children and the family dog. The "Squam Farm" conservation property and Cranberry Bogs are within walking distance and Quidnet beach a short bike ride (bikes provided) away. The house is well maintained and equipped with plenty of comfortable bedding and thick towels as well as a fully equipped kitchen, but you will want to spend most of your time outside enjoying the lovely grounds and the fabulous outdoor shower! Bikes, beach and BBQ equipment are provided by the owner. Bob is readily available and quick to respond to any tenant needs. I highly recommend this property for those seeking plenty of space, privacy and a true Nantucket experience.

Perfect Home

Guest: JJJS (Great Falls, VA)
Date of Stay: 07/03/10 Review Submitted: 07/26/10

We stayed in the home for the first 2 weeks of July 2010, and it was enjoyed by all. The home was equipped with everything you need to cook at home or to go out (great book on where to eat). The Quident beach was a pleasant surprise and less than a mile down the road. Beach we had never been to before, but was very plesant. Jumping on the bike path was easy and a great ride to Sconset. The home itself was great for a family with older children (high school and college), who had friends visiting and provided privacy in the cottage, as well as plenty of space to all gather in the family room. The outdoor space and grill were also excellent for easy cook out dinners. My 2 labs also enjoyed the large yard, and loved to walk to the back gate. My brother-in-law loved his time reading in the chairs in the back of the property which provided great place to just relax and just get away from it all. It was such a private property, you sometimes thought, you might be the only people on the island. We were there over the July 4th holiday, and the views (sunset awesome), of the fireworks from 3 different locations were easily viewed from the large deck on the second level. Bob Vidoni, the owner made the transaction very easy and was prompt with email responses and providing any info needed. Great vacation space!

Great place for all ages!

Guest: Trisha (Texas)
Date of Stay: 06/19/10 Review Submitted: 07/08/10

Perfect place for our 4 generations of family to stay. Large living room where we could all comfortably sit and visit and a huge dinning room table where we could gather for meals. The large backyard and great grill made cook outs fun and convenient. Everything was provided but the food! The location was great. Close to the small charming village of Sconset where we went for ice cream, muffins and yummy sandwiches. Just minutes away from Nantucket town to enjoy the sights and shopping there. The main house and guest house had everything and more than what was listed online. We would definitely recommend this rental to feel like you are in your own home away from home!
