This was our first family vacation since our middle daughter was married last November. The 6 of us (including new son-in-law) and their 8-month old Teacup Yorkie had a truly wonderful time at the cabin. It rained heavily during the Saturday night and on into the Sunday, but the tin roof made this a relaxing experience. We plan on staying again, when time permits us all to get together once more. Many thanks - The McLendons/Campbells!

I can't find enough words to describe how wonderful the cabin is. Our family will make this our regular vaction spot. We highly recomend visiting River Creek Ranch. You could not ask for a better place to spend family time together.

We absolutely loved staying at your cabin. It is so gently tucked away on beautiful property, yet conveniences are close by in Coldspring. The cabin has all the comforts of home and is well maintained. Our sweet old dog loved exploring the cleared yard and creek. It was the perfect get-away week for us. Thank you, Mike & Evelyn

We wanted a quiet and secluded spot to spend some time together before Army Dr. John has to ship out for a 15 month stay in Iraq. The little log cabin was perfect, we built fires in the fireplace, hiked around the wooded property, and sat with hot coffee on the covered porch in the rain and watched the creek rise. My silly little city dog got to feel the call of the wild a bit too. It was hard to leave.

We stayed a long weekend at the cabin and it was a wonderful and relaxing time. Cabin is well equipped and decorated very Texas appropriate - state flags & cowhide! Sitting on the front porch in the huge rockers, drinking coffee and looking out on nature and quietness just can't be beat - will be back in the spring for my granddaughter to play in the creek and romp in the fields! Went shopping in the little unique shops in "downtown" Coldspring - very quaint and neat stuff - purchased a few gifts for family, friends & myself! Would go back to the cabin in a heartbeat! Owner very easy and pleasant to work with.

RiverCreek Ranch cannot be described. It must be "experienced". It is in a serene area with the chirping of birds and insects and other animal sounds. My husband and I spent a week with 5 young kids and two dogs. We enjoyed hikes, swimming in the creek and fishing and boating in nearby Double Lake. We encounted deer, geckos, and frogs galore. Our 15 year old got some driving lessons on the dirt roads which was easier for her than in the city. The kids enjoyed finding horseshoes on the nearby roads as keepsakes. The cabin is sweet.. Very clean, beds were more comfortable than home, rustic decor (including cow hide tables and armoire, horseshoe door handles, Texas flag themed bathroom, heavy carved dining room table and six chairs and handmade quilts on all beds)is top notch and very suited for the whole atmosphere there is even a tire swing in the front yard. Anything I thought I had forgot to pack was found in the cabin (including can opener, towels board games and Bocce Ball). The owner was a joy and felt like talking to an old friend. She was so accomodating as we booked last minute and while she was away on vacation herself! We ventured into Houston for the Space Center (1 1/2 hour) Mostly we liked to hang out at the cabin as we liked the secluded feeling of it. It forces you to relax and unwind. A high paced vacation is nice but this was different for us and we truely loved it. We will go again soon... probably before years end. You cannot beat this!

Our family spent a few days over spring break at River Creek Ranch. Our kids and dog had a great time being in the woods. We love to ride our 4-wheeler and dirt bikes and this was a great place to do that. This area is quiet and peaceful. The beds were soooo comfortable...we all slept great while we were there. We would definitely recommend River Creek Ranch. This is a wonderful place to get away from the rat race, kick back and just enjoy life and being with your family.

Every year my extended family will get together and take a trip to a cabin somewhere in Texas. This year we choose River Creek Ranch, and we do not regret it!! The property is beautiful and there is plenty to do. We playe din the rain, blew bubbles, played badminton and bocce ball. My 18 month old neice loved grandpa taking her on discovery rides in teh wagon...there are plenty of rock, leaves and bugs to see. The house is very nice, the beds are comfortable and you have all the ammenties of home. I highly recommend River Creek Ranch. Have Fun!!!

First of all I would like to let everyone know how nice Dr. Moore is. She is just a great person. River Creek Ranch was just beautiful. We were there for a week and had a great time. The cabin was very comfortable and away from the fast life. We will definately be returning for more needed R & R!! Thanx once again for your hospitality Dr. Moore. Lori Trahan and Andrew Laverty

The weekend we spent at River Creek Ranch was wonderful! It is an authentic log cabin sitting on 20 acres with a creek running along side of it. The inside is adorable! The cabin has all of the comforts of home and is decorated in true Texas style. Beautiful pine walls and ceilings, comfortable leather couches and quilts on the beds - it has it all. Double Lake is only a few miles away and a great place to go for leisurely walks. The town of Coldspring also has many amenities if you are looking for cute shops or places to eat. River Creek Ranch is a great place to relax and unwind and enjoy nature.

Our vacation at River Creek Ranch was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable we have had. The cabin was extremely comfortable and equipped with all necessities for a home away from home. The owner was extremely helpful and communication was never a problem. We would not hesitate returning in the future. Evans & Jenny Daigle

Over the years, we have meet family for weekend gatherings from coast to coast. This place was by far the most relaxing, best vacation we have had. The owner went out of her way to make us feel welcome and at home. Cant wait to go back. Simply the best!

My family and I stayed at this beautiful property for a weekend of pure relaxation. The house is great, with wonderful pine paneling, cushy leather couches and all the comforts of home. There is a creek that runs in the back of the house and big rocking chairs on the porch to take in the views and rock away the stress. If you have kids, there is plenty of land to explore and enjoy. I give the River Creek Ranch my highest recommendation.
Owner response:The walls are actually made of real wood from both log and Pine from Maine. The house does not have any paneling.
