The entrance level of the sprawling property, designed with Balinese architecture and an Indian touch, welcomes the visitor with statues of elegant Balinese ladies holding flowerpots atop their heads. The car passes along the coconut, mango, and other fruit trees to reach the garage where the staff receives the visitor against the backdrop of a magnificently-sculpted Javanese door.
The approach to the second lower level with a large courtyard is through white stone stairs and a colonnade with hand-crafted wooden columns and colorfully-designed ceramic tiles recalling the old-world charm. On the left, a magnificent fish pond with statues of Balinese goddesses pouring water continuously and on the right two traditional Balinese welcome statues.
Thereafter is the master suite, measuring 16-meters long and five-meters wide. It comprises the bedroom, lounge, and entertainment sections. Beautifully decorated niches on one side and a view to the courtyard on the other side. The lounge area, separated by curtains, has a three-meter by two-meter, single block, inlaid, green, marble floor with mirrors on the ceiling covering the air conditioners. On either side of the lounge are the indoor/outdoor en suite bathroom and the wardrobe. The lounge also merges into the entertainment section with a giant TV screen providing satellite TV, DVD, LCD, VCR, and BOSE surround music for a home theatre. A library is on one side and the other side opens to a colorfully-tiled verandah with relaxing cane chairs for a view of the water fountain in the center of the courtyard.
Wooden stairs, under an imposing three-span arch lead to the first floor with wide-open windows, equally big as the master suite down below.
Coming down the stairs, the colonnade leads to the two guest bedrooms. Air conditioned with mosquito nets, the rooms are charmingly decorated with painting and lovely statues in the en suite, indoor/outdoor toilet and bathroom. A large wardrobe with safety box and a writing desk with chair complete the furniture arrangement.
In between the two guest bedrooms is a daybed for lounging.
The colonnade thereafter leads to a formal square living room on the left and a unique design of toilet on the right. The living room is open on all the three sides with tall sliding glass doors and an antique wooden door facing the second-level garden. The reclining sofas and chairs under a fan with a stereo music system make the breathtaking view of the third and the fourth lower levels and the swimming pool.
The dining room is open on all the three sides with wooden columns supporting beautifully carved arches. Two dining marble tables and specially designed leather chairs provide an elegant and intimate feeling of comfort and ease.
The kitchen right behind the dining room is fully equipped to meet with the demands of the rich menu.
The large, master bedroom with wide sliding glass doors opens to the swimming pool on one side and a wooden deck on the other. Through the two windows on either side of the large bed one can see the dance and songs of the extraordinary species of birds kept in the aviary behind. The fourth side of the room opens to a fully-mirrored dressing room. The magnificent mirror on top of the double vanity recalls the arch which, by the way, is one of the dominant themes of the architecture of the whole building. After the dressing room is the toilet, indoor shower, and a large bathtub situated in an open courtyard with scented and colorful flowers. At the far end of the open courtyard is an unique flowery pergola with a shower set against erotically sculptured white wall. An open-air massage table under the flowers will tempt anyone for the exotic body spa treatment awaiting.
The large, infinity, swimming pool placed at the end of the third level is ideal for the community time. The 18-meter length of the pool gives ample scope for a good work out. Easy chairs of different designs provide sunbathing facilities in any postures. The Balinese Bale with comfortable cushions facilitates reading or napping under the roof for at least three people together.
On the fourth and the lowest level of the estate is set an unique bedroom for two among luxurious flowers and fruit trees with fish ponds and fountains. It is a rural rice-barn with thatched roof converted to an air-conditioned bedroom with modern amenities. Twin beds are on the first floor. It is also provided with a fan and a mosquito curtain making it a very charming place for those who enjoy rural and rustic atmosphere. The deck on the same floor gives a relaxing view of the river with shady trees on both the banks. A small boat for two provides total solitude under the tree. On the ground floor of the barn is the toilet, wash basin, wardrobe, shower, the exercise facility, and the portable massage table. A badminton court is also laid out, next to a hammock for two swaying gently in the breeze between the two tall trees, on this fourth and lowest level before the river.
Now it is time to return to the beginning of our story: the landmark tower of Olesha. Going up the stairs, you reach an intimate salon on the top with a comfortable mattress and a small refrigerator. There leaning against the round cushions, you are a Nawab, looking down on the fabulous property with the volcanic mountain range of Bali on one side and the Uluwatu peninsula and Indian Ocean on the other. Sandwiched between them is the inevitable lush greenery of Bali with a bright orange colored glorious sun either rising or setting.
An idyllic place to melt into Mother Nature.
